Upon Vestia: Chapter Eleven

She blinked and nodded, "Yea...?"

"Fair enough. It's not like her snark is rare and dreaded, anyway," Asher said, finishing getting dressed as well. And really, they were some of the most useful people on the ship. Vestia wouldn't dare be too nasty, and risk them leaving. He lead the way toward the distant showers, glad to be a vital part of the crew.

Of course, what would the rest of the crew do without the medics? bleed to death, that's what. HAH.
[Don't let her hear you say that, she'll try to prove a point.] He warned jokingly as he followed Asher.

"Oh hello," Vestia said dryly as they came into camera range, "Did you have fun with your classified paperwork?"

Asher grinned at the nearest camera. "When do we not have fun with paperwork?"

Kay smirked up at the camera. [It was extremely boring, you wouldn't have wanted to watch. Lots of filing, lots of maths.]

Vestia snickered. "Oh, I can only begin to imagine. Need any towels or anything? You're totally on this random floor for a reason, I'm sure."

Kay nodded. [Thank you Vestia.] He couldn't quite look up at her camera though. Ahem.

Asher looked away to hide his amusement from both Kay and the ship. Vestia was way too perceptive sometimes, and it was the sort of thing that could be either embarrassing or hilarious, depending on your mood.
"Here we are," he said, gesturing to the hall, "Many, many rooms with actual plumbing."

Kay shook his head at Asher and his endless cheerful mood. Maybe he should get more days off to hide and fix things. He went to have a shower then.

Asher hesitated, then decided that hey, he probably wouldn't short out, and this was better than prowling back to his room to clean up. He picked another room at random, spent a few seconds quietly panicking, then had a shower as well.

Vestia was nice, bring them towels and all. Kay mused they probably shouldn't tease her as much as they did but it was kinda funny and privacy was so hard to get around here anyway.

He got dressed and combed through his hair with his fingers. Eugh. They needed a barber on board. His hair had reached that irritating too short to tie back, too long to not get in your eyes constantly stage.
Still, at least now he looked vuagely presentable in case of sudden having to run back to the medical room to treat someone's self inflicted stupidity.

Asher would return to the hall, doing his best to not look like he had just seen a ghost. He wasn't an empath, but he could have sworn he could sense Vestia's amusement even though she wasn't saying anything. She knew about his fear of water, even if almost nobody else did, and he was pretty sure she found it funny.
Oh well, at least he was clean now.

Kay joined him, oblivious to his traumatic shower experience.
[Now what?] He asked, he didn't really want to go back to work... which was a new one. Damnit Asher really was a bad influence, but Kay didn't care. He liked it.

Asher thought for a moment, then looked up at Vestia's camera questioningly.

The camera swiveled up and down, sort of nodding to him.

"Want to see what I helped Vestia install while we were on the Beach Planet?" he asked

Kay tilted his head, curious. He nodded.

Asher lead the way, trying to seem mysterious. He was just about over his water-induced terror now, instead excited to show Kay the top secret thing Vestia had installed.

Kay followed along, curious as to what they'd done and how they'd managed to keep it secret this long. Vestia was a big ship sure, but even so... it was impressive.

Asher stopped at a door and opened it for Kay. The room looked empty at the moment. "Run program Garden One," he said. The room became a large garden full of strange plants from many worlds. "Vestia thought we should have a holodeck," he explained.

Kay's eyes widened, wow. He broke into a broad smile. [How did you manage to hide THIS from everyone?] He asked, staring around at all the strange plants.

"Well the huge, lovely beaches and the constant chaos helped." Asher smiled, "She enlisted my help while everyone was gone the first day. It was a fun project, the technicians were very nice, but then we never had a chance to show the completed room to anyone. You're the first to see it."

Kay looked at Asher and nodded. [I'm honored.] Goodness, what terrible uses would the others put this place to? Maybe Matt and Thalia should be banned hah.
He was being unfair assuming the worst of them of course, but it amused him.
[We were never allowed to use the holodecks for anything other than study purposes on the station. They didn't want us messing up their precious technology or something.] He shook his head.

"Well this one is purely here for fun, so people can do whatever they like." He chuckled, "Almost anything they like. Vestia says there are a few things she isn't planning to allow, because, I quote, 'eeew'."

Kay looked amused. [Yes, while I believe they're relatively easy to hose down... I agree. Ew.]

While the medics were checking out the holodeck heny was busy trying to find some banaids for the paper cuts on her fingers..

After some amount of time enjoying the peace of the holodeck, they'd head back to med bay, because that was sort of their job. It had been nice to relax, and Asher was very glad to have spent so much time with Kay.

Kay was totally goofing off wasn't he? But he didn't much care. Work was stressful and if there was an emergency Vestia would call.
He enjoyed this time with Asher, wandering around the holographic garden.

They returned to the medical room together. Kay was in pretty good spirits actually. Who needed a whole day off when you could have a few hours with Asher? Super great for destressing. Yep. "Paperwork" was officially the ultimate way to unwind.

They would find heny trying to put on banaids with her cast hand, she looked up and arched a brow at the two, "Where you guys been?"

Asher smiled. "Just doing some paperwork. What happened to your hand?" he asked.
