Upon Vestia: Chapter Three

"I can only begin to imagine how difficult that must be for you," the android sympathized. He wondered if petting the disconsolate cat would be comforting, or a major overstep of personal boundaries.

Ellie raised her hand. "My com says 5:42pm."

"We have an hour before the others meet us at the restaurant" Starr said then pointed to Shane "You will stay on this ship and away from camera sight until this is settled one way or another."

"Oh, I'd forgotten about that," Ellie said. She looked at Shane a bit sadly, disappointed that he couldn't come along.

Shane sighed and held up his hands "I am happy enough to stay safe here, just point me where to go. I'm tired"

"Then get some rest," she told him affectionately. "I'll tell you if anything exciting goes down."

Vestia informed star it was 5 o clock pm.

Shane nodded then smiled at Ellie again then hugged her before going to his room again.

"Thank you Vestia, that gives us two hours before we have to meet the others." Starr said then looked at Shane as he walked off to get to his room again.

Ellie watched Shane go, smiling stupidly. After a while, she got the muscles of her face under control, and looked over at Starr. "So, where is this restaurant we're supposed to go to?"

Starr pulled out her omnicom and pulled up a tourists map to show her the location. "It is pretty famous for the food and service inside."

"Not too far away, that's nice," said Ellie. "Do we know if they let cats in?"

"They are tolerant of many of the known intelligent beings in thw known galaxy. " Starr read as she pulled up the information on the restaurant. "I called for a room that would let us have Crazy as well."

"Good. I've become kinda fond of that cat ever since we had that fight," the human said. She looked at her own omnicom. "Oh hey, my parents just sent me a photo of the algae tanks, and said they miss me."

Starr smiled and looked around, putting hers away now. "That is nice" She said softly

"They're still kind of sad that I didn't end up taking over the family business," she said with a laugh. "It's okay though, they got a nice farm maintenance robot to help out. I'm gonna go eat something, I kind of missed lunch, and you're not supposed to gorge yourself on fancy French cuisine."

"Yes, that would not do to get sick on the food here." Starr said and nodded then looked around before following her as far as the rooms to knock on Ashers

Bianca, who had been exploring Asher's room, started at the sound of someone knocking, and hid under the pile of blankets again. After a few seconds, she recovered from the surprise and called (as loudly as a rat can), "Who is it?"

"It's Starr" She answered and opened the door gently. "I was wondering where you were, I was able to find your food." She added with a smile.

Bianca twitched her whiskers, then darted across the floor to Starr. She might be sapient, but her instincts were very much those of a rat, and she always had a sneaking suspicion that something would swoop down and eat her if she wasn't near some sort of shelter. "Asher said I could stay here until we figured something out, so here I am. Can you put the food down somewhere? I need to stockpile it so nobody will steal it."

"Nobody will steal it here, but don't you think we should settle where you will stay for certain before you settle in that much?" Starr asked, kneeling and setting her hand down for Bianka to get on or not. She was also wondering where Asher had gone.

The rat thought about that, then climbed onto Starr's hand, and up to her shoulder. "Maybe that would be a good idea. I've gotten used to hoarding food whenever and wherever I can, so I guess it's a habit now."

Starr nodded and looked up. "What do you think Vestia, do we have a suitable room for Bianka?"

It turned out that Vestia did have a smallish room free not far away. "You don't think the cat will try to eat me?" Bianca asked as they went down the hall.

"You can ask Vestia to not allow Crazy in, but I don't think he would try anything. " Starr said and smiled at her then looked at the door.

"If he tries, I'll bite him," Bianca said, climbing onto Starr's hand so the shapeshifter could set her down. "We'll need to think of a way for me to get in and out of this room, maybe a hole in the door?"
