Upon Vestia: Chapter Five

"All right... right, we'd better get him to the med... the med bay," Asher said. "And... and do some tests to see what's needed."

"Ahh well, perhaps that's the explanation. Our dad could too... I ended up with water. And weirdly our sister can't do anything. I think she just... never embraced that half of herself honestly. She always wanted to fit in and not be a freak." He shrugged and ate. He had zero table manners.

"Mm, I suposely have magically ability as a keeper but I never tapped into it." He said with a shrug. "Trauma supposely halted my development in that aspect."

"Any reason you couldn't learn it now? There's gotta be someone willing to train you."

"Eh...the one we knew the longest time keeper wise scared the hell out of us...dunno if the other keeper here will be willing to try even teaching me."

"You could always ask." He shrugged and tore a chunk of meat off with his teeth. "You know, if you wanted to tap into that part of yourself."

"yeah... kinda noticed that..." Matt shook his head. "Maybe it's better never to know right?"

"yea." He softly smiled, "Less chance of hurting people ICare for."

Vestia swept low over the surface of the planet, taking in the rocky and mountainous terrain of its northern region with a bit of disappointment. Storm clouds were thickening in the sky, and the wind conditions were going sour. She hated landing in bad weather.
Oh well, the city called Absalom was said to be the best resupply stop until they reached the Gallus system, and they needed supplies badly. She dropped into the atmosphere, hull heating up at first, then cooling rapidly as she slowed and hit the chilly cloud layer.
Visibility was terrible, so she relied on her other sensors to prevent collisions as she homed in on the spaceport. The traffic controller guided her steadily, and after a few terrifying minutes of half-blindness, she landed.
"We're here. Temperature is negative six degrees Celsius, so wear a jacket," she said dryly to the passengers.

Heny bit her lips nervously as she heard how cold it was and would search for thicker jackets to bundle up in.

Thaila was already ready to go and wanted to get some freedom from the ship, and away from Kay.

Starr chuckled and grabbed a thick jacket on her way to the ramp.

Shane looked to Ellie, wondering if they should even go out this stop, that was far too cold for her human frame.

Skye and Moone did not want to go out in that cold of weather. They would stay on board.

Ellie looked back at Shane, "Come on, we need a change of scenery. You're a dragon! You don't need to be scared."

Asher mentally went through the shopping list, and went to borrow a jacket from Vestia's storage.

"I am scared for you" Shane said with a shrug "The cold will affect you more than me" But he went along with her, making sure they both had jackets to wear. If it came down to it, he could shift and make her wear his.

"yeesh, cold." Matt found some good thick appropriate weather clothing and would promise Ellie he'd bring her back something nice. It had been a while since he'd seen snow and ice, he was kinda excited.

"make sure you wear thermals if you go out! Frostbite's not fun!" He told her as he ran off to join Thaila.

Mourn decided not to go out, the frost did weird things to his cybernetics. Besides which, it was nice and warm on the ship and he'd found a place to snooze.

Kay looked over the list of things they needed to pick up. Sheesh, they went through stuff fast for such a small crew.

He really wasn't used to the cold, and he was a little nervous about this shopping trip given the disaster that was the last one. He found a hooded coat and some mittens.

Heny nervously picked at her jacket, tempted to not even leave with how cold it was.

Thaila chuckled and grinned as he exited into the brisk cold air, "So...what the plans?" He asked.

"Dunno, don't care. " Matt bounced on the balls of his feet eagerly. "I just wanna get off this ship! No offense Vestia, you're awesome but... you know!" He practically dragged Thaila out into the freezing cold.

Ellie put on thick gloves and boots, and a hat that covered her ears. "Don't worry! Humans are durable, remember?"

Asher headed to the airlock, dressed in appropriately warm clothing that he technically didn't need. If he wanted to pass as human, he had to dress accordingly.

Starr watched the others a moment then went out, hoping to find what she needed here, even if it was not the stop she had intended to make. She still had to restock her supplies, as many pendants as she had made and the amulet still to make for Kay. She had decided to revert to her more human form, since wings would freeze in this weather.

Heny looked outside one last time then decided to not risk it and would sulk back inside the ship, she had plenty of time to do baby shopping.

"Ack!" Thaila yelped as he tried to not face plant into the snow, "No need for clothing, random trinkets or anything like that?" He asked, then added, "That we buy not steal."

Kay joined Asher, it was clear he was a bit anxious. [Let's hope this trip is far less eventful] He remarked, scrolling through the list once more just to make himself feel a bit better.

Matt was far too delighted about the snow, he raised his head to the falling snowflakes and spun around, arms outstretched.

"Nope, i'm good." He called back.

Thaila laughed, "Jeez, your acting like you never seen snow." As matt was busy the keeper slowly scooped up and turned some snow into a ball..

"If this trip ends like the last one, I'm going to punch something," Asher said, not sounding at all like he would actually do it. "Are you going to be warm enough out there?" he asked.

"Depends on the circumstances" Shane said and looked around, keeping her hand in his as they started looking around the place

"Well not often. Doesn't snow on Melanoc, just rains a lot." He was paying zero attention to what Thaila was doing.

Kay shot Asher an odd look at the punching remark but nodded. [Should be. ] He wriggled his fingers in his mittens. [bit hard to type in these though.] He kept having to take one off to actually write.

The male smirked and took aim, hitting Matt squarely in the back of the head and quicky ran for some cover.
