"You only got yourself to blame" Matt put him back down but didn't let go of his hands.

Kay followed Heny's gaze and rolled his eyes, those two. Evidently their little spat didn't last long then.

"Why? Why cant I ever have at least a little bit of peace!" She whimpered clenching her fists tightly.

"Because fate's an asshole." Matt mused more to himself than anything else. Damn those guys, upsetting the pregnant lady wasn't okay. He really hoped they were getting a lecture from Kay. Damn could he do lectures.

Shane rubbed her back gently as he held Heny

"He was trying to stand down!" Vanessa suddenly yelped desperately, "Corvus wouldn't back down, he was only defending himself!"

"Vanessa..." Merith said, giving her a warning glance, and the anamcara quieted. Merith sighed. He was about to turn and explain himself about the blade, but froze at Kay's words. He seemed to stop for a second, his expression brandishing a mix of emotions, sometimes looking hurt and guilty again. He only nodded. With a deathly level of quiet he made his way to Heny.

Starr shook her head and looked to Vanessa "Do you know where Corvus went to hide? I have a few words for him too."

Vanessa shrugged, "That coward has his own pocket realm." Suddenly she clenched her fists and looked away, "That damned bastard... He knew this would happen... He knew..."

Merith slowly came into the occupied bedroom, looking down at the woman keeled over the bucket. "Heny...?"

She looked up, relief on her face as he wasnt harmed, "Y-your in one piece.." She said softly.

Shane looked to Merith then back to Heny, just staying to keep her safe.

Starr sighed then rubbed her eyes. "Fine, then I will set up an alert for when he returns. We cannot have him starting fights with Merith."

"Right." Vanessa said, rubbing out the watery tears that were beginning to form in her eyes. She began to walk away, "I should go..."

Merith smiled, looking down, "Had I been mortal, that blade would have been the death of me, a long time ago." He came forward to kneel down in front of her, softly grabbing of her hands. "I believe I owe you an apology, Hen..."

Her lips trembled, "W-why did you push him?" She asked, "Why?"

"If you didn't notice, Heny, Corvus was getting increasingly more and more angry with my presence. This was inevitable. I'm grateful there were others there to stop it from going any further."

He frowned slightly before giving a dry chuckle, "Your guardian doesn't like me very much. I think he'd rather me fuck off, in all honesty... But I can't do that, not after I promised you I'd stay."

"But it could of been done without the potatos...and me not in the cross fires." She sniffed, holding his hands tighter st the reminder of his promise.

Starr frowned then went to Vanessa, stopping her with a hand on her shoulder. "Are you alright?"

Shane looked from one keeper to the other, easing himself up then motioning Matt to come with him. This was getting personal.

"I'll be fine." Vanessa said blankly, quickly trying to hide her pooling tears on the brims of her eyelids. "I'll be fine..."

Merith sighed, "I'll admit, that wasn't my best moment, but... I needed him to confront me. He has been angry with me for some time, I needed to get him to tell me why."

"Wh-what did he mean?" She asked, dreading the reply.

Starr frowned at that then moved in front of the other female. "Will be and are are two different things. Is there any way I can help?"

"There is nothing that can help at the moment." Vanessa said flatly. She stared at Starr for a few moments before looking down to the floor, "There is nothing that can fix anything now, I don't think..."

Merith sighed, "Long story short, Hen, Corvus was the person that blinded me in this eye... Nothing more. Corvus is just trying to protect you, and that includes from me. I haven't exactly given anyone here a good reason to trust me, especially him."

She blinked, "H-he never...told me." She whimpered, "Why? Why didn't he tell me.."

Matt would quietly leave with Shane, glancing uncertainly back at Heny. He felt sorry for her, she didn't deserve all this anguish.
Merith sure as heck wasn't helping his psycho image. He sighed, and followed shane into the hall.

"well, looks like I got a mess to clean up... again." He smiled sadly. "Why does she put up with those two?"

"She loves them." Shane said then shrugged. "At least it wasn't as bad as it could have been."

Starr looked at Vanessa, confused. " What needs to be fixed?"

Matt sighed. "Yeah... " He shook his head. "never a dull moment on this ship huh?" He went to find a mop and bucket, someone was gonna have to clean up the food, and blood... and whatever else. "at least nothing exploded this time." He glanced back at Heny's room. Nope, definitely didn't trust Merith. Not one bit.

"Yeah, glad of that. You want some help?" Shane asked, looking to Matt for a moment then back to Heny's room worriedly

"Sure." Matt shrugged, trying to smile. It had been a rough few days. "She'll be okay. He won't hurt her.. least not intentionally." He frowned. "We just gotta keep the two of them apart. Or dump them somewhere to fight it out and get it out of their stupid systems. well away from any civilization." He rolled his eyes. "God-like beings.. why are they always assholes?"

"To be fair, this could happen with any two guys who feel they can protect a girl better than the other, the power is what makes it harder to deal with." Shane said with a shrug. "From what I can tell, they both think they are the only one that can keep her safe and they don't want to share. "

"They're idiots." Matt told him. "Absolute idiots." He headed back to the rec room to clear up.

Shane followed Matt to help as he could. He didn't like what the fighting did to the others, making them all tense and picking sides again.
