Upon Vestia: Chapter Two

Asher looked at Heny for a long moment, trying to decide whether it would be a good idea to move her. The seat didn't look terribly comfortable, but then again, she'd probably wake up on a murderous rampage (again) if she woke up in a new place. He didn't want to cause her any more stress, not when she was in this condition.
Noticing the edge to Vestia's voice, he asked, "What's wrong? Did Ellie do something again?"

Kooshie wrote:Asher looked at the cat, and smiled. He held out his arm so Bianca could run up to the safety of his shoulder.
"Crazy," said the android, "This is Bianca. She's a mentally enhanced rat, and will be joining us on the ship. Bianca, this is Crazy."
"He's a cat," the rodent said doubtfully, quailing from the natural predator.

"Nope." Crazy stared. "Nope. ...I just can't deal with this." He turned ran out of the area to relative sanity of his room.

"What just happened?" asked Bianca.
"Apparently he finds you to be as disconcerting as you find him," Asher replied. He unbuttoned his shirt pocket and moved an oxygen mask from there to one of the pockets in his jeans. "Want to climb in, and I can show you around?"
The rat scrambled down and hid in the pocket, chattering her teeth with nervous excitement.

Crazy stayed in his room and came out a couple of hours later. He was now wearing a spiky collar, had dyed the tips of his ears a neon green, and wore colored contacts which made his eyes seem yellow when they were actually blue. Walking to the cafeteria, he started eating a cube of tofu.

Bianca was, thankfully for Crazy, sleeping in a pile of blankets in the corner of Asher's room. The android had decided it was as good a place as any for her to stay, at least for the time being.
Asher was wandering the ship, and happened to see Crazy in the galley. "Crazy?" he asked, tentative. The cat looked much more like his name than usual.

"Asher." Crazy nodded, glad to see the rat wasn't with him.

The android sat down near the cat. "You seem... differently dressed all of a sudden. Are you all right?" he asked carefully.

"Yeah. I'm alright." Crazy sighed, sniffing Asher's new hands for a bit. "You know.... I once had a friend who's name was Neurotix. He used to spin yarn out of shed dog fur and make the cutest little hats with them."

Asher blinked, not sure what to make of that remark. "That's certainly a unique hobby."

"Yup." Crazy took another nibble of tofu. "What I'm getting at is, coming from a town with mosquitoes the size of small poodles, nobody was able to successfully tell him how the cow ate the cabbage."

"Very unfortunate. I can imagine how that might cause long-standing issues," Asher said gravely, accepting that nothing Crazy was saying would successfully compute.

"Does it even matter, anyway? To have all these things foisted upon me makes me realize that after the cunning hare is killed, the hound is boiled. It's just an invariable principle." Crazy looked down at his paws, seeming rather sad.

Shane, Starr and Ellie soon returned to Vestia, pausing to look around the bay "What time is it Vestia, locally?" Starr asked.

Shane frowned and looked to her then over to Starr then to Ellie
