Upon Vestia: Chapter Eleven

She blinked and nodded, "Yea...?"

Kay shook his head. [Too nice, or too scared of my wrath?] He smirked and neatly stacked the few bits of paper in front of himself.

"Hmm." The android thought that over for a bit. "Come to think of it, your wrath isn't so bad, and I'm not that nice." He eyed Kay's stack of papers thoughtfully.

[Don't even think about it.] He glared, but couldn't hide the tiny smile playing on his lips as he covered the paper with his tablet.

"Too late, I'm thinking about it." Asher gave Kay a charming smile and confiscated the pen jar from the desk.

Bah, he batted halfheartedly at Asher. [And where do you intend to keep all those pens?]

Asher felt his pockets, and concluded that they weren't big enough for that many pens. Oops. "I'll hide them in one of Vestia's maintenance panels," he said smugly after a moment, "Good luck finding the right one."

[I'm sure I can convince her to help me look.] He smiled up at Vestia's camera. [Of course if I really can't find them, i'll just let the paperwork pile up and play games on this to pass the time instead.] He held up the tablet. [How much do you really like filling out forms?]

"That's cheating. You can't ask the ship for help!" Asher looked amused. "I don't actually like them that much, but they're pleasantly mind numbing at least," he said, "And people are less likely to bother you if you're scowling at a tax form."

[Do you even know HOW to scowl?] Kay looked amused, getting up to half heartedly try to get the pens back.

Asher moved the pens out of Kay's reach hastily. "Of course I do! I just don't do it much. Okay, maybe ever. But I know how!"

Ellie wasn't having much luck getting to sleep, so she wandered out of her room a bit woozily, to get something liquidy from the galley. Maybe some tea would help her sleep.

As Ellie passed through the hall, she would find herself stumbling into Third if she didn't check her feet...

Ellie wasn't looking, so she'd trip over the fox creature and almost go sprawling on her face. She caught her balance and stared at Third. "What are you doing here?" she asked, pulling her omnicom out of her pocket defensively.

Third yelped when he was tripped over, the bottle and its contents scattering to the floor as he cast an annoyed and aggravated glance at Ellie. "Community service." He said, sounding bored. "I had forgotten you were still on this ship." He began trying to roll the pills back into the bottle with his nose.

Ellie looked at him, an expression of confusion and distaste on her face. "What did you do to get community service? Why aren't you magicking the pills back into the container? Why do you have pills anyway?"

Third looked at her apathetically. “None of your business, not allowed to ar the moment, and these are for the medic's brother." he explained, returning to his task.

"Not allowed to use magic? Nice!" Ellie looked pleased. "Guess that means you don't get to vaporize me again, huh?" She glanced at the pills, not entirely trusting them.

"Not now, no." Third suddenly grinned slyly. "But maybe later."

Ellie narrowed her eyes at him. "I'm better prepared this time, and not scared of you any more." Okay, she was a little bit scared still, but she wasn't going to admit that.

Third snorted, "Oh? I'll be the judge of that, in a week's time. What do you say? Shall we duel?" He grinned at her wildly.

"With weapons, or hand to--uh--paw?" Ellie said. She was still sort of drunk, so Third's offer didn't immediately scare her off. Besides, she'd fought a cat once. It had been fine.

"Um," said Vestia from the ceiling. "I really doubt that this is a good idea."

Bah, curse you Asher! Kay shook his head, he didn't believe him.
He reached over him to try to grab the pens, because he wasn't going to let Asher win damnit.

"Anything we both choose to use." Third grinned mischievously. "And do not worry about collateral damage, my dear ship... I'd make sure it's over before it starts."

Asher made a halfhearted attempt at pushing the pens out of Kay's reach. He didn't expect to win, and that didn't bother him anyway.
He looked up at Kay, and said in a tone that could almost be mistaken for seriousness, "Really, I'm a very grumpy person. I just don't show it much."

"I'm not worried about me. You guys both know Vanessa will make your lives awful if you hurt me. I am worried about Ellie, however," Vestia said.

"Hey, I'm perfectly able to take care of myself," Ellie told Vestia indignantly. "Wait, we have to use the same weapon? Is that what you're saying?" she asked Third.

Third chuckled knowingly, "Ah, a smartship with very good sense. Do not worry, I will go easy on the poor terran." He fixed his gaze on her. "What I mean is, we each choose a weapon, and that is what we use. It can be whatever weapon we wish."

"Mmm," said Ellie. She tossed her omnicom in the air, nearly dropping it as her dulled reflexes almost failed her. "I choose this now, but can I choose something else if I regret this when I'm sober?"

"Whatever you please." Third said, attempting to sound very gentleman-like. His grin gave away at how obvious he was enjoying this, like a cat watching a fish bowl.
