Upon Vestia: Chapter Eleven

She blinked and nodded, "Yea...?"

Kay nodded. [Execution is so final, and there's far greater evils out there right now. We all need to focus on the family, on whatever mad god-like being drove them to this. I may not like the man, and I barely know Vanessa, but I don't believe either of them are monsters deserving of death. ] He shook his head again. [There's been too much death and pain of late. [Merith saved us once, looks like it's our turn to return the favour right?]

"Yes, it only seems fair that we should help them, like they've helped us." Hesitantly he added, "Although it might be wise to hear their crimes before making any promises."

Eventually the yelling stopped. Third would leave the room looking paler than normal as he then began searching for Kay. The guy may not like him, but in honesty, he would know of all people when Matt would be around, right? Right. He grumbled after Vanessa gave him his punishment.

Kay nodded. He thought it would have to be something pretty awful to justify death though. Even those slavers hadn't deserved death in his mind. Just long term imprisonment.

He looked up as Third came in, Kay wasn't after all difficult to find. He was usually in the medlab.
He looked wary as the fox appeared.

[Can we help you?] He wrote.

Asher smiled in greeting to Third. "Hello again."

Third had trotted in rather than floated, and invited himself in by hopping onto a nearby table. "Greeting to both of you." He grumbled, obviously annoyed.

"Well, I'm certain both of you her that volcano top of a.. 'chewing out,'" The fox mimicked air quotes with his paws. "Apparently, I'm not allowed to use any magic for the next few days. Also some sort of community service." He shook his head, looking to Kay, "Your brother is a janitor, right?"

[Get off the table] Kay told him, looking stern. He nodded at the last part. [You want to mop floors to pay off your debt?] the image of a fox with a mop was quite amusingly ridiculous.

The fox sternly stared at Kay, before hopping off, walking towards a bed, and hopping on that. "Mops are a little difficult to handle... But I could try."

[So why are you talking to us about this and not him? Or the ship herself, i'm sure she can assign you some tedious menial task.]

The fox blinked at Kay, before stiffening and nodding curtly. "Well, I suppose you're right. Very well, I depart as desired." He hopped down, beginning to shuffle off quickly.

"Wait," Asher said, "How are you with ship maintenance?"

Third stopped, looking over his shoulder, the ghastly white and red mask-like face a lurid complexity against Quinn's dark fur with teal stockings. "I have never been on a ship before Vestia." Was all he said, and he shrugged. A light grin flicked across his face momentarily before he seemed to growl beside himself, shaking himself furiously.

Ahh the perils of writing, tone never came across.
Kay wasn't totally sure they could trust Third but he hadn't attacked either of them quite yet... this time.

[Sorry.] He wrote. [My brother is currently extremely drunk and probably fast asleep. However.. ] He stood and went to find some painkillers which he offered to the fox. [If you take him these come morning, he'll do just about anything you ask. And if he's annoying, threaten to not give them to him.]

"I can teach you a bit of maintenance stuff, if you get sick of mopping," Asher said with a smile. "And I thought we were withholding painkillers?" He teased Kay.

Kay shrugged. [I am withholding painkillers. If he comes in asking for any, he's not getting them. ] He smirked. [Also, these are the weak ones. They'll clear his head enough to talk and agree to stuff, but not enough to make him not feel awful.]

The fox paused, looking at them curiously, with a bit of wary scrutiny in his eye as he turned back around. His paws reached the base of Kay's form and he looked up, opening his maw slightly. "I... thank... you... for the, uh, incentive." He then looked at Asher, speaking through his full mouth. "I will consider your offer." He turned to curtly leave again.

Asher gave Kay an amused look. "Okay, you're mean."

[Good luck. Just make sure to tell him you have painkillers, then he'll talk to you. Also, don't tell him I gave them to you, tell him you stole them.] He nodded. [If he thinks he's defying me and that you managed to sneak around me, he'll be even more willing to let you in and chat.] He waved.

[Bad cop remember?] Kay smiled to Asher and sat back down.

Asher gave Kay an admiring look. "Remind me to never get on your bad side."

Kay smirked. [Will do.] He settled back into his chair and reached over to steal some of the paperwork Asher had been trying to hide behind. [I have to hide some of this, just to stop you doing it all while I sleep.] He teased.

"I'll have you know that I'm very good about not doing work during standard resting hours," Asher said, feigning a time of wounded pride. He let Kay steal the paperwork.

Kay shook his head. [Just in case, i'm taking this. And next time i'm hiding all the pens.]

"You wouldn't dare," Asher said, dropping his voice to a horrified whisper.

[Depends how annoyed I am with you at the time I suppose] Kay smiled innocently. [But you don't tend to annoy me so you're probably safe. ]

Asher casually pocketed a pen. "You're right, I'm much too nice to steal your paperwork." He looked similarly innocent.

Kay shook his head. [Too nice, or too scared of my wrath?] He smirked and neatly stacked the few bits of paper in front of himself.

"Hmm." The android thought that over for a bit. "Come to think of it, your wrath isn't so bad, and I'm not that nice." He eyed Kay's stack of papers thoughtfully.
