Upon Vestia: Chapter Five

"All right... right, we'd better get him to the med... the med bay," Asher said. "And... and do some tests to see what's needed."

Matt's thoughts were a bit of a mess. There was definintely attraction there, but also a lot of conflicting emotions. Sympathy, slight disgust at the whole puking thing, memories of the past few times he'd done exactly this and gotten super drunk and regretted it.

"you gonna be okay?" He asked, he genuinely did seem to care. It was almost as if he felt.. responsible for looking after Thaila. He always felt responsible for looking after people.

Kay was taking notes from the data crystals and looked up when Asher came in. He smiled and paused whatever he was watching so he could open up the notepad and typed [Heny has some data crystals containing a lot of information about Keepers. She refuses to see an actual doctor for her anti natal care, so looks like it's up to us.]

Asher shook his head amusedly at that news, having resigned himself to Heny's stubbornness by now. "I'll be sure to study everything... everything once I have the time. It's good that she had the information handy."

Thaila blushed again and coughed, "Uhm..telepath here, remember?" There was just somethings he wont be ever able to forget.

Kay nodded. [I've been taking notes but it's rather a lot to take in. ] He tilted his head. [You look distracted. Are you alright?]

Matt immediately looked embarrassed and averted his gaze. "Oh.. .man.. I'm so sorry.. what was I?" No.. he didn't want to know what he'd been thinking. He tried to think less loudly. "Sorry.. I uh.. " Yeaaah, he didn't really know what to say now.

Asher looked down, embarrassed. "I'm... I'm going to ask Mourn to repair me today... today. I wanted you to know so you could be prepared... prepared in case anything goes wrong."

Kay's eyes widened and he stood up. [Repair... what does that entail?] He looked alarmed. Was this something dangerous? what was that deranged cyborg going to do? [Are you certain it's wise to let him go messing around with your programming?]

Thaila sat there awkwardly, and then his eyes widen as dear Vestia started to blare in the whole ship "Kiss the Girl"

"D-damn it..." He chocked.

Matt looked up at Vestia's camera bemused. "What the heck?" Why was she playing music? She'd never done that before. "Has the ship just gone mental?" He asked Thaila.

"He'll try to modify... modify my programming to stop the lag," Asher said. "I don't... don't know if it'll work, but I need to be repaired if possible."
He frowned at the sudden music. "Vestia, what?"

Kay looked really worried, and then just flat out confused as Vestia started to play music.
He frowned up at the camera, then slowly realized what she was playing and tried to retain his composure. Damnit ship. Just.. damnit.

Matt just looked bemused. "Or a voyeur. Oy, Vestia, stop it!" He seemed fairly amused though. "I say we cover the cameras and make loud obnoxious noises." He smirked.

The android shook his head, baffled. "Vestia?" he asked again.

[ignore her.] Kay wrote. [She must have some screw loose.] He glared up at the camera.

He weakily chuckled, "Sure you wanna risk that?"

Shane looked up at the camera then started laughing, he was still wandering the hallways and waiting for his friends.

"What?" Starr asked curiously, looking to the nearest camera

"What's she gonna do? Play more music?" Matt laughed. "Vestia, you're a pervert." He was taking it all in pretty good humor though. "Besides, he's hungover and pukey."

Asher shrugged. "All right then. Moving on. I'll be... I'll be busy for some unknown amount of time today, so if anything goes wrong, you might need... need to handle it alone, Kay."

Kay hesitated, he looked extremely anxious. [Are you sure you want to do this?] He got the impression there was no real way to talk Asher out of this, but frankly he was terrified.

"Won't be la-" Thaila shut up and burried his face into his arm.

Matt just laughed. "Hey come on, let's get you back to bed. I'll find you a bucket or something just in case. " Ahh nothing like a raging hangover to kill a mood right?

"I need my... my processing power back," Asher said, "And with my very robotic stutter, I'm unsafe... unsafe on most planets."

Kay nodded, and rested a hand on Asher's shoulder for a moment, before writing. [Just be careful and come back... you.] He looked up at the android, he looked like he wanted to say more but he thought better of it. [I'm sure I can hold the fort while you're gone. ] He nodded, inhaling deeply and trying to be professional.

"That works." He sighed, relieve Matt did not catch that.

"Come on." Matt helped the other guy back up, allowing Thaila to use him as a support if he needed to.

He gratefully did, "T-thanks.."

Asher smiled warmly. "I'll do my best. Truly, I have... have no idea how I ever managed here without you. If anything goes wrong, I'll be glad to know that my friends... friends have you to keep them safe."
