Upon Vestia: Chapter Three

"I can only begin to imagine how difficult that must be for you," the android sympathized. He wondered if petting the disconsolate cat would be comforting, or a major overstep of personal boundaries.

She blink at the child, obviously wishing to touch it but with the straps hat wouldnt happen. Shakily she took her breath, trying to not reminder her reason why to fear such a place but it was near impossible.

Heny's particular brand of terrified scream was very good at tearing into Asher's mind and activating the First Law, and it had taken all his willpower to not run over to her and try to help. He stayed where he was, barely, and forced himself to not try and intervene. The others could handle this better, and he just had to trust them.
Once she stopped, he waited a few seconds until his cores returned to their normal clock speed and his emergency processes terminated, then walked over to see if he could be of assistance.

You are safe and you are in no immediate danger so long as you stop struggling. We had to restrain you because you have broken your back. Movement will make it worse. I am sorry but it's necessary you remain as still as possible while your body heals.

Calming people down wasn't something Kay was really that good at, holding people's hands and making soothing noises just wasn't his thing. He only hoped a full explanation of why she was strapped down so hard would be enough.

He looked over at Asher, he seemed more the soft and soothing sort of medic, maybe he should deal with the panicking person. Truth be told, he was rather relieved the android was here to help.
Back on the frontier they usually just knocked out difficult patients, there was quite enough panic and chaos in triage without the patients adding to it.

The android couldn't hear any of what Kay or Heny was saying, but he could make an educated guess as to what they were thinking about. "Heny," he said gently, "How about we get you out of here? We had to bring you in here to fix you up, but we can move you somewhere else now. Would you like to go back to your own room?"

Kay shot Asher a grateful smile and nodded. No reason she had to stay here, so long as she stayed relatively still and they could check on her regularly.

Starr glanced to Asher then to Kay "Usually, if she can be anywhere else, we let her stay in her room" She told their new medic then looked back to Heny again

Merith said nothing, watching the others handle the situation quite well without him. He couldn't help but purse his lip slighty as he glanced down at his hands. Useless, as always. He inwardly mocked himself. He tried to stand up, watching them for a moment more and after seeing Heny visibly calm by the sleeping Syren, he couldn't help but turn away. Discreetly he tried to move away from the group -- down the hall, into a random room. He didn't care which, he just needed privacy and time to think. Vanessa followed him, the two silently agreeing to talk about something.

Quinn also stayed upon the outskirts, not knwoing how to help, but unlike Merith, she stayed close to the group, ready to provide whatever aid she could.

"R-room please." She pleaded.

The android let his voice lower to the especially comforting tone he only used on terrified patients. "All right, we'll move you over. Focus on Syren for now, and we'll move you out of this room as quickly as we can. Vestia, can you get the doors, please?"

she weakily nodded yes as Vestia opened the doors for them. Already bots were waiting to help if need be.

Kay folded his arms and let Asher handle the situation.

Asher disconnected the feed line from Heny's wrist and wheeled her out of the room. He was glad that she was still on a gurney and hadn't been placed on a bed, because moving her again would have been a nightmare.
"Can you find some painkillers for her, Kay?" he asked over his shoulder.

Starr stayed close, carrying Syren so they would stay in Heny's sight as much as possible. She was glad the sleeping child had helped to calm Heny and get her to focus on something besides those particular memories.

Shane looked up when his door opened and Merith came in. "Hello"

Kay nodded and rummaged through things to find the appropriate drugs. He then shot the rest of the group a stern "don't go anywhere" look and hurried after Asher.

"W-where is merith?" Heny asked with a slightly slurred voice as the drugs were still in but wearing off in a slow mannerism.

The android smiled gratefully at Starr, then looked around at Heny's words. "I don't know," he said, puzzled. In the excitement, he had lost track of the Keeper.

"D-did he not come back?" She said in a alarm, "W-what about Corvus?" She remembered the voice but wasnt sure if she was just dreaming things after she blacked out.

"Four came back" Starr said, remembering what Vestia had said before. "He's here somewhere."

"Merith is fine," Asher said calmly, "He was in the med bay when you woke up, but must have decided to leave for some reason. Who is Corvus?"

"The...Raven" she said softly, refering to the sleeping feather tribble in the rec room.

"Yes, he's all right. Kay tried to question him about what happened, with limited success. Here we are, by the way," he said, pushing her into her room.

By then Heny had drastically calmed being out of th med bay. "Y-yea... He doesnt like talking much." She weakily smirked.

"He disappeared right in front of Syren, it scared her badly" Starr said as the medics moved to take Heny inside. "She needs to see him back and safe soon."

"That was the impression I got from Kay's transcript," Asher said dryly. He frowned at Starr, Heny did not need to know that Syren had been so scared, at least not right now. "We'll find Merith as soon as we can, and make sure Syren sees him."

Heny looked like a semi hit her at the words, "I-It was my fsult..." She said weakily, tears welling, "I was the one that angered.. him"

Star gave Asher a return look "Would you rather I not let Heny know that I am about to leave?" She asked then looked back to Heny when she spoke. She was at a loss since she hadn't heard that part of the story yet. "Heny, don't, whatever that was wasn't your fault"
