Upon Vestia: Chapter Three

"I can only begin to imagine how difficult that must be for you," the android sympathized. He wondered if petting the disconsolate cat would be comforting, or a major overstep of personal boundaries.

Ellie raised her hand. "My com says 5:42pm."

Kay nodded. <at least we know whatever's been done to him isn't permanent. That is if what this so called protector says is true. I'm not convinced their creator won't try this again. Is there any way to shield them? Disguise them so they can't be so easily located and taken again?> It seemed a longshot, but who knew.. the universe was a vast place, and even so called gods had limitations.

He glanced over to Merith and nodded.

Heny would obviously be out for a long time due to all the drugs given to her by the medics.

"We're talking about something that has power greater than we can begin to comprehend," the android said, "I know Starr is working on some sort of shield, but I'm not sure whether it would be enough."
He noticed Merith was awake, and went very still. "How are you feeling, Sir?" he asked carefully.

"Sir?" The man grumbled, closing his eyes again, "What kinda fucking sophistication is that? Did somebody die?" He had completely forgotten he had snapped at the android, never mind the thought that he might have humiliated the robot passing through his head.

Kay frowned at the whole sir thing and went over to check Merith over and give him the all clear.

<There's nothing physically wrong with you. However i'm sure the rest of the crew would appreciate an explanation of what happened and the future threat this may bring upon the entire ship.>

If Merith had forgotten what had happened, Asher wasn't going to be unprofessional enough to bring it up again. The android looked at Merith nervously, and decided to let Kay do the talking for now.

Merith read Kay's words and frowned, looking up at him, "Have we met?" He shook his head, "Nevermind, you're right." With a slight groan he slowly sat up, looking at Heny with a concerned look on his face, a half-panicked tone coming into his voice. "Is she okay? What happened to her? I know she was thrown against the wall but how badly is she hurt?" Immediately he tried to get up.

"Calm down, Heny's all right, and you need to rest," Asher said, "Heny suffered damage to her spine, but we treated that. Kay seems to be an excellent medic, by the way."

<She has a broken spine and multiple fractures, but thankfully no other internal injuries. She is stable, but she cannot be moved. For her safety and indeed the safety of the medical staff, she has been restrained just in case the sedatives wear off. There's nothing you can do for her right now, she is stable, she will heal. Just hope and pray she heals well enough to walk again. Right now she needs to rest.> Kay clearly wasn't one to mince words. <I am Kaylr Freidmann, i'm your new medic.> He reached out a hand to stop Merith rushing over the Heny, he wouldn't do any good going over and jostling her or trying to wake her up. <the best help you can be right now is to explain EVERYTHING.> His expression was stern, for a guy who looked so young and small and scrawny, he managed a pretty intimidating glare. Maybe it was the two pupiled eyes.

He smiled a little to Asher and nodded gratefully.

Merith listened to the medic quietly, yet his eyes always remained focused directly on the sleepinf form of Heny, progressively getting more and more worried, yet remained calm, knowing Kay's words held a great deal of truth within them. "Kaylr..." The man tested the name, his eyes slowly tearing away from the female to the nurse. He smiled, albeit watery from worry, and nodded slightly towards the mute. "It's a... pleasure to meet you. What happened while we were gone?" He seemed to want to avoid the question about the Creator. The reason? Merith couldn't help but feel it was his fault, and in a way, it was. Had his presence not been on the ship, none of it would have happened. He had angered his Creator and now not only will he be punished for it, so would Heny...

"Explain? What's there to explain?" Vanessa's floating form shimmered into reality right behind Kay as she read over his shoulder, scoffing. "I was watching. Heny's partner pretty much told you all you needed to know." Her form, this time, looked almost like a more humanoid looking will-o-wisp, a tiny person of odd blue, cold fire that merely lazily floated around the room, looking bored with these people.

Softly Heny's fingers twitched as the drugs started to slowly wear off from her body.

Kay glared at Vanessa, the one who'd disappeared earlier and seemed intent on killing Merith, great, and this was why the medics needed security.

He whirled around to face her.

Ever pragmatic he wrote. <Your creator will try this again. The rest of the crew and passengers deserve to know what these two have brought upon us all. How you and your feathered companion fit into all of this.>

He glanced toward Heny. She'd brought him and his brother aboard, given them the benefit of the doubt. All things considered, he felt he owed her, he couldn't abandon her even after such a short time. It didn't feel right.

<Vestia, gather everyone in the rec room. Let's have that discussion.>

He looked to Merith, then Vanessa, then Asher.
<we owe it to her to at least try to fix this. I'm well aware that may be a fools errand, but standing around with half truths, riddles and secrets waiting for the next abduction isn't helpful.  Everyone on this ship deserves to know the truth, so please, can we get this over and done with? Because it's been a long first day and i'd really rather it wasn't also my last. >

He was too distracted by others to notice Heny's fingers twitching.

Vestia did as requested, making sure the twins and star where inform of this.

Heny eyes fluttered open briefly as she still felt the heaviness of being sedated on her, but the feeling of straps on her body shortly took care of that drozy sensation...

Asher gave Kay an admiring look, but then he caught a hint of Heny's movement in the corner of his eye. "Heny's waking up," he said quietly, "I thought the dosage would keep her sedated longer."

"Do they want the child to be brought in there?" Starr asked gently, still rocking the girl.

Heny's arms jerk as her instict kicked in for the need to escape out of there.

Starr nodded and stood easily, wrapping her wings around to cushion the child and hide her a bit as she headed for the medical bay.

Kay looked alarmed as Heny started to wake up.
He rushed over to that side of the room and started trying to find more sedatives. The more she struggled the more risk she ran of making her injuries worse.

Heny please, calm down. You are safe but you are badly hurt, moving is not wise. He attempted to reason with her.

All poor Kay saw within her mind was the reasons why she was scared as hell of the med bay and being strapped down. Being killed repeatly for toture really does a number on you.

The android mentally braced himself for if she started screaming. "Merith, please talk to her. Maybe she'll find your voice to be comforting," he said. He went to help Merith stand if he wanted to get closer.
"Try the sedative patches in the third drawer to the left, second up," he said to Kay, "I've successfully used those before. Although their effect isn't long lasting, they work quickly."

"L-let me go!" She screamed, luckily eniugh still drugged to actually shift the straps would keep her down... For now.

While he did this he tried to send her soothing thoughts but her screaming and panic wasn't easy to get through. He shuddered at her mental images as he fumbled for the patch and tried to get it in place.

Starr came to the door, hearing all of the commotion as Heny started to wake. She frowned and came closer, reaching to touch Heny's hand gently. "Heny, you are safe, hurt but safe." She said, trying to send her calming energy, though as untrained as she was, that might leak over to the rest as well

Heny whole body shook as both star and kay managed to calm to her down, barely. Her eyes darted around like a fearful caged animal scared to death.

"Easy Heny, you know we won't hurt you" Starr said and gave her a gentle smile. She moved her wings a little to show the sleeping child in her arms in the hope that would help further calm her.

She blink at the child, obviously wishing to touch it but with the straps hat wouldnt happen. Shakily she took her breath, trying to not reminder her reason why to fear such a place but it was near impossible.

Heny's particular brand of terrified scream was very good at tearing into Asher's mind and activating the First Law, and it had taken all his willpower to not run over to her and try to help. He stayed where he was, barely, and forced himself to not try and intervene. The others could handle this better, and he just had to trust them.
Once she stopped, he waited a few seconds until his cores returned to their normal clock speed and his emergency processes terminated, then walked over to see if he could be of assistance.
