Upon Vestia: Chapter Five

"All right... right, we'd better get him to the med... the med bay," Asher said. "And... and do some tests to see what's needed."

Kay's poor drugged brain really couldn't deal with this. He buried his head in Asher's chest and closed his eyes, refusing to have anything to do with all the crazy.

Matt found some gauze and cotton swabs and paper towels and kneeled down in front of Heny. "Here, hold still. Let's see how bad this is. " Hey, you hung around his brother enough, you picked up some basic first aid.

"Vestia, where is my brother?" He asked, glancing up at the camera.

She reluntly showed the damage, which was pretty decent since Thaila had a good swing.

"Not on board still." She said.

Ellie and Shane would hurry onto the ship with the bags, Ellie yelling at Vestia, asking where everyone was.

"Hold on to what?" Asher asked Shock, firmly wrapping one arm around Kay to keep him close. "You?"

Vestia informed were the three were and the cat robot but said the rest weren't back yet.

Shane frowned and headed for medical to at least drop off the bags there. "What happened out there?"

Matt frowned, that was concerning.
"What about everyone else? Ellie and Shane?" Who else had gone off ship? Had they been jumped too?

He shook his head, he couldn't worry about this right now. Heny needed help.

He hissed as she showed the damage. "Yeah... that looks broken. " He very very gently started to clean the blood off her face, being extra careful not to knock her nose and start it bleeding again. "Aren't you guys meant to heal super fast?"

Oh here was Shane, good good.

"Hey, so... you didn't get jumped by humanists right?"

"HUMANISTS?" said Ellie, hurrying into the room, "AS IN, THIRD PLANET HUMANISTS?"

"That's correct~" The bird-man replied in a sing song voice, taking Asher into his hands and holding him princess-style to where both men would be curled up in front of him. Suddenly it would grow dark as the mechsuit shifted again, this time into a tiny pod-like orb around them, and suddenly they began speeding up, slowly going faster and faster, but the orb somehow muffled most of the motion sickness for them. Suddenly there was a loud snapping sound as they broke the sound barrier, and headed back to Vestia.

"Uh... I dunno.. was kinda too busy getting electrocuted to pay attention. " He looked to Thalia. "Crazy Terrans, don't like aliens apparently. " He rubbed his shoulder where he'd been shot with the tranq dart. "We managed to get away but... we really should get outta here."

"We were left alone" Shane said and glanced around with worry "What happened to Heny?"

She softly started to tear up as he started to mess her her nose, "I...I can't...quick heal pregnant.."

"Thalia wakes up mean." Matt smirked at Thalia. "Unfortunately she was the one too close this time. You okay?" he asked Heny earnestly, then she started crying and he pulled her into a hug "hey, it's okay, it's gonna be alright. It's just a nose, it'll heal. The medics will get back and set it and give you pain killers and it'll be fine okay? Don't cry.. "

Asher glared, unamused by Shock's antics, but unwilling to say anything to annoy the superpowered bird man while Kay needed help so badly.

"Hey, we're not all crazy," Ellie said, looking concerned by the news about her friends' danger.

"We have the painkillers, but I have no idea the dosage' Shane said, looking through the bag to bring one thing out "Or if they should be given to a pregnant person..."

"Thaila brain feels like mud." Thaila grumbled as he laid there on the bed, "What the hell was in that?"

Heny said nothing as the annoying feeling of being helpless filled her.

Soon enough they began to slow again, and the orb around them retreated, folding into metallic wings that gently curled themselves up behind his back. Shock set the two down and watch Merith float down holding Starr not too far behind them. They landed in front of Vestia's ramp into the ship.

"Wait.. why do YOU have the shopping? Didn't Kay and Asher go to buy stuff?" Matt asked, okay.. NOW was the time to worry.

"Come on." He helped Heny into a chair. "You stay here, if the bleeding starts again, just like.. hold something against your face till it stops." He spoke like someone who'd suffered many a broken nose.

"Ellie, who are these people and why are they attacking strangers and pointing guns at them?" Please be okay Kay, for goodness sake, please be okay...

Kay's mind had decided that nope, it just wasn't going to work any more. Being unconscious was better than having to try to process this crap.

Vestia announced the return with surprise in her voice.

Heny did as told, to much in pain to try to actually sneak out for once she silently cried in pain.

"We found it, dropped in the snow" Shane answered with a frown. He looked up at the announcement then headed for the ramp

Starr stirred but didn't wake just yet.

"Third Planet Humanists, they're... uhh... kind of the religious organization I belong to. They usually aren't harmful, but there are some evil groups of them, who like to put aliens on trial and use or execute them."
She shuffled her feet awkwardly.

Asher sighed and picked up Kay, heading for the med bay.

Matt looked relieved, and then torn... stay here with the keepers who clearly still needed help.. or rush off to make sure his brother was okay?
He hesitated, frowning at Ellie.

"So... what you're saying is we picked the planet of crazy cultists to resupply? "

He went to the door and peered down the hall, to see Asher coming toward them with Kay in his arms. "Oh not again. What happened?"

Merith asked Shock to take the sleeping Starr and led the bird to med bay himself, thinking that there would be people there that might not enjoy seeing him holding their unconscious friend. AS they reached the door, Shock went inside first. Merith just stood, silent, by the door, waiting to see who would do what as the bird-man set Starr on a random bed.

Heny was in a chair holding her bleeding nose as she just stared at Merith in shock. "M-merith...?"

Matt stared at Merith, unable for a moment to form words. His eyes narrowed. "What the f**k are you doing back here?"
But no, now wasn't the time to smack the genocidal maniac's head in, people were hurt... was that Merith's fault too?

He tried to focus instead on Asher. "Is he okay? what happened? "

"It's not a cult, it's a recognized religion," Ellie said defensively. Then she remembered that now was no time to defend these jerks. "Yeah, crazy cult planet."

"He was drugged by the group who caught us, I think he'll be all right, but I'll need to run some tests to be sure," Asher told Matt calmly. "What's going on here?"

Starr stirred again, blinking her eyes then looking around slowly. "Thank you Merith" She said softly

Shane looked at the others then found a seat. "Um, Vestia, if everyone is on, I think we should take off, or at least close the ramp"

Merith's eyes softened as he smiled at Heny and opened his mouth to speak. He had so much to tell her... She needed to know everything... Where he had been, what he had learned, why it took so long to return... Only to be shut down by the expected harsh words that came to his ears. It was Matt. Alright, he knew he wasn't welcome. He expected it. He expected it. No need to get it over his head. He fell silent again and instinctively stepped back.

However Shock had heard the words and immediately what feather he had began fluffing up, puffing out in a rage as he turned to say something to Matt, only to notice a shake of Merith's head, and he released his breath to calm himself down, "Right, right, you deserve it, and all that you told me, blah blah blah. You know what? I'll be outside practicing if you need me and you can decide if you want to tell them or not. And if you don;t and we leave, you get to the tell the Creator why we couldn't take them back with us because they were so caught up in their emotional hissy fits they probably couldn't with Her anyway." He turned and walked out again, stomping off. Merith only sighed and looked back into the room, quiet.
