Ellie watched the bird curiously. "What do we do if it eats all our food?" She muttered to Shane.

"Get more food?" Shane asked then chuckled "This is a cool way to deliver stuff on planet though."

Ellie laughed. "Yeah, I guess they probably sell sugar cereal around here somewhere, right?" She added, "And yeah, the bird is pretty cool."

The bird eventually settled on the trail mix, pecking strongly at it a few times with the force of the large emu-sized courier bird. Satisfied, it walked out, ruffled its feathers in farewell, and began to depart.

"Bye courier bird" Shane called to it as it left. Yesh, he liked the big bird. It was different.

"Thank you, bird!" Ellie called after it. "It was great meeting you!"

"well that was different." Matt remarked with a smile.

Esk looked at always,completely unimpressed.

"Different, but good" Starr said and looked over to Matt then the others "If anyone needs me, I will be at the library, at least for a little while" She said then waved before heading out

"Have fun studying!" Ellie called.

Matt waved "See ya Starr, have fun reading" He turned to Esk. "I am SO taking you suit shopping."

"try it and i'll shoot you in the leg." Esk hissed.

"then you'll get a lecture from Kay" Matt reasoned. "and that's never fun. he might even throw something at you."

"he can consider it payback for my hand." Esk told him flatly.

Matt looked a bit sheepish. "Hey I said I was sorry. It's okay now right?"

Esk grunted.

"I'll find a way to convince you to come shopping." Matt nodded and looked back at Ellie. "Modelling time!"

"Yes, please, even without the 'full effect' from the moonlight" Shane agreed, looking to Ellie again and smiling.

"full effect?" Matt hadn't managed to read the letter.

"I assume the flowers open in the moonlight." Esk had read it.

"Hey that's awesome!" Matt grinned.

"mm hmm." Esk didn't look so enthused.

"Man do you like anything?" Matt rolled his eyes.

"I like quiet empty rooms." Esk told him dryly and made for the exit.

"I'll get you into a suit even if it kills me! okay not kills, but seriously maims me! " Matt called after him cheerfully.

Ellie grinned at Esk. "You'd look good in a suit, man." She carried her dress away to some random nearby room to change. She wanted to try it on!

"Not happening." Esk called back.

Matt laughed and nudged Shane "it's so happening." He grinned and waited for Ellie to come back.

Shane chuckled and shrugged "Maybe" He said and waited to see what Ellie would look like in that dress.

"no no, definitely. He'll try to weasel out of the whole party thing but it might do him some good to look nice for once and actually socialize. " Matt looked serious. "I worry about him you know?" He shrugged.

Ellie returned before too long wearing the dress. It really was beautiful, all silvery and with those lovely flower patterns. It fit pretty well too, it might need a bit of adjusting to fit perfectly, but it still looked amazing anyway.
"LOOK AT IT," Ellie said, tone of voice perfectly not matching how someone wearing that dress should sound, and also missing Matt's seriousness in her excitement.

Matt clapped his hands. "oh wow. Ellie.. you look like a princess!" He grinned at Shane "She's gonna put us to SUCH shame man, I mean damn. She's gonna outshine the damn moon!"

Shane clapped a little and nodded "You do look beautiful Ellie" He said then glanced to Matt "We will so need better suits to match that."

"totally." Matt agreed. "I gotta talk to Armin. Me and clothes shopping don't get along so well." He chuckled and held up an arm to show the way the elbows of his shirt were unravelling thanks to his elbow spines sticking through. "Girls always look way more gorgeous at parties though, all the sparkles and frills. Man, suits are so boring in comparison right?"

"I'm so amazing looking!" Ellie cheered. She grinned at her friends, "You guys SO need amazing suits so you look like me!"

"Heck yeah, especially Shane. Can't have you looking like a slob with this gorgeous girl on your arm man. " Matt looked eager.

Shane was laughing again and nodded "Sure, sure." He said then elbowed Matt "Hey, I like how I look in a suit, even if it isn't as pretty" Good thing he didn't have elbow spines to get in the way.

Matt laughed. "I'm sure you look even hotter all scrubbed up." He ruffled Shane's hair affectionately. "I gotta put damn effort in now man. Well to be fair Thalia will probably demand effort anyway." He snickered. "She keeps threatening to cut my hair properly. "

Shane looked at Matt and tilted his head "Hm, that would be odd to see you in a different haircut, but it could be good, if you pick the right one."

Matt snickered. "What you call a haircut Thalia calls, and I quote" He made finger quotes for emphasis here "the dragged through the hedge backwards after being attacked with a blunt hedge trimmer look" He smirked. "I told him it wasn't a hedge trimmer, it was a pair of shears. " He grinned. "And craft scissors which for the record, suck at cutting hair." He nodded. "then she threatened to shave my head." He shrugged. "Which I don't think I can pull off personally. "
