Upon Vestia: Chapter Eleven

She blinked and nodded, "Yea...?"

"Thanks man. If I collapse or something i'm sure Vestia will tell you." He grinned weakly up at the camera. Yeah he wasn't bothering covering that thing, all the sex happened in Thalia's room right? HAH.
"Then you can totally all laugh at me." He waved to Third and would go get showered and dressed in a groggy headachey fog. Water did help.. a bit, but not as much as proper damn painkillers would have. Eugh.

Kay wasn't totally sure he wanted to hear her dream. [I'm going to regret asking aren't I?] But she'd brought it up now.

"I dreamt that you and Asher were back together," she whispered.

Kay looked at her, shook his head and tried very very hard not to show how amused he was by that.
[You dreamed that huh? Sounds like quite a dream.]

"It's super weird," she said. "You weren't there, it was Matt who mentioned it, so then I got mad at Asher because i was worried about you. It WAS a dream, right?"

[How can I know? I wasn't there remember?] Kay smiled oddly at her. Yes he was kind of enjoying this, and he felt a bit guilty about that but it was pretty damn funny. [But you shouldn't worry about me Ellie, i'm fine.]

It was weird how un-weirded-out Kay was. He shouldn't be so amused if it was just a dream, right? He should be angry at having this sort of thing brought up, because breakups were so miserable. Ellie gave him a suspicious look. "For the record, I recommend not dating him. He's nuts."

[In all seriousness Ellie, while I think it's sweet you care so much, my personal life really is none of your business. Asher isn't nuts, he's actually pretty remarkably sane all things considered.] He looked serious now.

Ellie looked guilty. "I know, it isn't my business. But ew, the gun..."

Kay tilted his head. [I gave it to him as an exercise of trust. It was important to me that we be able to trust one another, especially if we're working together. The amount of times one or both of us has ended up in a situation we've required protection, we both feel better knowing we have a weapon.] Which reminded him, he really needed to go grab a new gun. You never knew when the next crazy thing would happen around here. [Usually he just gets tased and collapses, it's not very helpful.]

Ellie watched Kay worriedly for a moment, trying to read his mind, with predictably useless results. But she did know him fairly well, and she knew he was able to look after himself. Not to mention the fact that Vestia would notice if something was wrong. "Okay," she said softly, "Do whatever it is you're doing, and try to not get involved."

Kay smiled softly. [I'll be fine Ellie. And don't be so hard on Asher. He's a good person really. He's flawed, but aren't we all? He genuinely cares about the wellbeing of this crew.] He patted her on the shoulder. [At the risk of sounding like Matt, it'll be okay Ellie. It's going to be okay.]

Ellie nodded. "Did you know my life used to be simple?" She said with a weak smile. "It is so complex now. But hey, you must know more about this complex lives than I do, so I'll try to believe you."

[I'm sure it was. Sadly things seldom stay simple, straightforward or easy. The universe loves to throw in surprises at every turn.] He shook his head. [But if you wanted simple, you wouldn't have stayed here right?]

Third nodded, actually smiled something a bit warmer than usual in thought, and waited for Matt.

"Yeah." Ellie sighed, "What can I say? I got bored on the farm." She grinned, "And the food here rocks. I should probably eat breakfast, actually, my brain is working now."

Matt got dressed and took the rest of the painkillers with him, wisely thinking he'd probably need a steady supply of them for the next few hours.
He stepped out into the hall and grinned weakly at Third, holding the doorframe for support. "I think... I think we're both being punished for getting arrested right?" He snickered. "No sleeping in for me. But onward, breakfast!" Even a splitting hangover couldn't make him THAT moody.

[I can see how farm life could get dull. I'm here because I got tired of patching up wounded soldiers. ] Kay shrugged. [You should eat, i've heard salty broth works wonders, and eggs. Just take it easy for the rest of the morning and if you see my brother, tell him this is what he gets for over indulging and getting arrested.]

"So now you patch up Heny," Ellie said. "So it's basically a perfect tradeoff." She smiled and waved, "Thanks, I'll try that. And I'll be nice and mean to him if I see him. Unless he looks really sad and melts my heart." She headed for the galley.

Kay smiled. [For all the stress here, it's nothing on working the frontier. Heny at her worst is like.. a good day.] He nodded. [Don't let the doe eyes fool you, he deserves every single moment of that hangover.] He waved as she headed off.

Shane was in the galley, eating his late breakfast. He wasn't hungover, but he had slept late.

Starr was across the room, apparently lost in thought with her spoon suspended halfway to her mouth Whatever she had thought of had her full attention at the moment

"Shane!" squeaked Ellie happily, only wincing a bit as the sound of her voice made her head hurt. She glanced at Starr and asked Shane in a headache-preventing whisper, "What's up with her?"

Shane smiled at Ellie then shrugged and glanced to Starr again "I don't know, she hasn't moved in the last few minutes except to mumble stuff." He said quietly then looked to Ellie again "Get yourself something to eat, even if it's just toast. You will feel better for it."

Starr dropped her spoon and blinked at the mess. Standing quickly she grabbed some napkins to clean it before it could spread then tossed the rest of her meal before heading for the door quickly and muttering something about wolves and stars.

"Yeah, Vestia has one of her adorable lil robots getting me something," Ellie said, taking a chair next to Shane and throwing a companionable arm around his shoulders. "Think we should beg Vestia to find someone to interrogate Starr?" she asked, mildly concerned but still a bit too headachey to inquire herself.

Kay decided to see if Starr was up and about yet. Her admission the previous day was still nagging at him. What WAS she up to, and just what was she planning?
[Vestia, where is Starr currently?]

"She's just leaving the galley, looking totally spaced out and muttering to herself," Vestia said to Kay.
In the galley, she told Ellie and Shane, "Kay's on it, don't worry."

Spaced? well that wasn't good. He hurried to intercept her.

Shane side hugged Ellie too, watching Starr leave then shrugging a little "I don't know. She must be working on something to be that worked up." He said uncertainly then looked up and smiled at the camera "Thanks Vestia"
