"it will be, it always works out. " He just sat quietly, running his hands through Thalia's hair.

DAY 7, EARLY MORNING

Asher's internal clock told him that the moon would be down soon. He powered up his idling processes and waited for the monster to turn back into Kay.

As the moon set and the sun's first rays touched the sky, the process reversed. It was every bit as horrible in reverse, and Kay was clearly reeling from it as his mind came back to him and he curled up on the floor, trembling.

Asher looked at Kay as he shifted back and saw that his clothes were... somewhat less effective in fulfilling their purpose now. He went to fetch Kay's regular clothes for him.

Kay very.. very tentatively pulled himself into sitting position. He looked awful. His hair was a mess, he looked groggy still from the sedatives still in his system and exhausted from the changes. Everything ached, he closed his eyes and tried to clear his head. Everything was still foggy, the last remnants of the beast slowly dropping from his mind.

Asher brought the clothes over, doing his best to avoid looking at Kay, because that would be inappropriate. "Do you need anything else?" he asked, voice lowered. He had a feeling Kay must have a nasty headache right now, and he didn't want to make it worse.

He tried to brush his hair out of his eyes as the cell was opened.
Kay shook his head and took his clothes, getting dressed with some difficulty and grateful to Asher for respecting his privacy in this.

The smell of breakfast also started to sneak in ghe open cell door.

Asher quietly handed back Kay's tablet once he was dressed, really not sure what he should do. Help Kay to get out of the cell? Let him walk on his own? Maybe he just needed to stay here for a bit and rest? He had no idea.

food... his stomach growled. He took his tablet and gratefully booted it up. [are you alright?] was his first question to Asher.

"I'm fine," Asher said gently. "It was... difficult to watch, but I was prepared for that. This doesn't change how I see you at all, I hope you know that."

Kay smiled softly, lowering his head. [Thank you.] That was quite possibly the sweetest thing he'd ever been told, damnit Asher, yet again proving he was way too nice, and sweet and caring.

Asher smiled back. "Do you want to get out of this cell now, or would you rather rest a bit longer? You look pretty tired."

[I think... that I would like to sleep in my own bed not the floor.] He joined Asher. [But first, I believe there is breakfast.] The Avians really were too kind, he wasn't certain how to repay such generosity. He was exhausted, aching and stiff but he was also ravenously hungry.

Asher offered his arm for Kay to lean on if he wanted. "Lead the way, I don't have a sense of smell to guide me," he said lightly, several of his processes immediately diverting to think up excuses for his inability to eat.

Kay leaned heavily on him, not apparently caring about how this looked. Quite frankly, at this point, he didn't give a crap about people seeing them. He felt awful and he wanted comfort. He was too tired for neurosis. He pointed the way, still trying to get his hair out of his damn eyes. Eugh.

With Kay's guidance, Asher was able to get them to the dining room before long.

Kay would eat whatever they gave him, he was ravenously hungry and didn't really care what it was.

After a while he'd slow down, acknowledging he had an audience and looked a little embarrassed.

[Sorry. ]

They gave him the classical breakfast of lots of meat, waffles, eggs and fruit.

Asher mumbled something apologetic about not usually eating this early, and how he'd better wait. Even if these people were unusually nice, he still wasn't comfortable with the idea of them guessing what he was.

[This still feels wrong.] Kay remarked, as he downed his third plate. [I can cope with not shooting me, but this? It makes me uneasy.]

"I can't help but agree with that assessment," the android murmured back. Some sort of dehumanizing treatment would have made this far less surreal. You expected to be hated automatically for some things, and it was weird when people refused to meet your expectations.

[I still don't quite believe they'll just let us leave, but i'll be happier to get out of here asap. ] He wiped his face and licked the grease off his fingers, glancing around warily. Yep, definitely too nice, it was extremely unsettling.

Asher nodded. He looked at the Avian guards, "You've been incredibly kind, and we're very grateful. We need to return to our ship soon, will someone be willing to take us back?"
Now seemed like the most likely moment for the Avians to show their true colors. He tried to not look like he expected them to do something bad.

"Oh of course." The female one that was on duty said," just let us know when your ready."

Kay nodded. He really wanted to get home, collapse into bed and sleep for the rest of the day.

Asher went to help Kay up, guessing he didn't want to try walking on his own right now. "Thank you," he said to the Avian female.
