"Of course, robots also don't reject their ID badges, or operate without an owner," Vestia pointed out. "But you're right, a robot falling in love would be pretty unlikely."

"Exactly. " Matt looked sternly at Vestia "Can you guys like.. lay off teasing my brother about it? He's not stupid, he knows Asher can't reciprocate but having everyone constantly giggling about it and making out like there's something there, it's a bit cruel. "

Vestia had to mute her audio output to keep herself from laughing at Matt's scolding. Once she got herself under control she said, "You're right, it is mean. I'lll try to get everyone under control, okay?"

"thank you." Matt relaxed a little and went to give Thalia his painkillers and water.

Thaila chugged em like it was candy, "is there snything I can do to help you?"

The Avians injected some sort of sedative and locked the cell securely.

The sun set.

Kay sat tensely, head bowed, eyes closed, waiting.

It happened quite suddenly, a gasp, his eyes opened and his face contorting in pain as the full moon rose. There was a nightmarish sound of cracking, grinding, crunching bone as bones broke and reset in new configurations. He looked like he wanted to scream, but no sound came out. His whole body twisted, he was forced to his hands and knees as his spine buckled.
Being a natural shape shifter, the illness forced him into a far more “wolflike” form than it did in other humanoids.
His dentition shifted, jaw elongating and teeth sharpening. fur grew patchily across his body, his hands twisted into claws.

It took close to a full minute for the transformation to finish, and throughout it all Kay looked to be in intense agony. Then everything fell silent, eerily silent.

The creature in the cell shakily got to its feet, red eyes devoid of any clear intelligence, they burned only with hunger and rage.

It took a few steps forward, the sedatives were starting to take effect and it wobbled. This seemed to piss it off more, it growled and threw itself at the doors.

Matt shook his head. "Nah, it's fine." He smiled. He was trying so hard to push down the fear and anxiety. He couldn't help but glance out a window to see the moon was coming up. He wondered how Asher would be taking all this. Was it possible to traumatize a robot?

"Y'sure?" He asked gently taking matt hand again, looking at him lovingly.

Matt smiled and nodded. "Yeah, i'm fine." He squeezed Thalia's hand. "Don't worry about me, let me look after you okay? "

Asher found himself unable to look away, knowing the sounds would be even worse in his mind if he didn't know what was happening. It was every bit as horrible to watch as he had been lead to believe, and he shuddered a bit as the kind, brilliant person he knew became some sort of mindless, bloodthirsty beast.
He was really, really glad that the monster who had been Kay was safely contained right now, because he felt certain that it would be able to kill everyone in the room, given half a chance to do so.

"If it gets your mind off of thing fine." He said with a weak smile.

The creature shook its head, trying to clear the fuzz and threw itself at the doors again a few more times before stumbling sideways and collapsing onto its side. It lay there, growling and fighting it before the sedatives finally took over and it fell asleep.

Matt nodded. "it sounds awful, but it's a welcome distraction." He kissed Thalia on the forehead. "Sorry, I really wish you didn't have to go through this."

"Eh...at least it isnt vulgar porno thoughts." He said with a weak laugh.

Matt made a face. "Yeah... no... remember, I grew up with an empath and a telepath."

"Well your dating someone curse with both sadly." He sighed shaking his head

"Yep, just my luck right?" Matt chuckled and sat down beside Thalia. "Still, it has its uses. " He very quickly pushed that thought from his head, it wasn't appropriate tonight. "At least you aren't a seer, that's particularly awful." He took Thalia's hand. "Can you share you pain?"

"Do you...want that?" He ask warily, "it not pleasant or fun matt..." He said softly rubbing his temple.

Asher 'breathed' a sigh of relief as the creature collapsed. It couldn't hurt itself, or Kay, if it was asleep, right? And it was much less unsettling to see a sleeping monster, then one that was actively trying to break down the door and slaughter everyone.
In some ways, he was glad that the change was this drastic. It was easier to view Kay as a separate entity from this... thing because it showed no sign of Kay's personality. Yes. They were two completely separate beings who happened to inhabit the same body. He could handle that.
He messaged Matt, All is going according to plan. Don't worry.

"I know. My twin, when fate would randomly decide to try to ram visions into his head, he'd be in so much pain. I took to helping him through it the only way I could, by sharing it with him. It made it well.. not tolerable but at least a little less awful. If you can do it too, then let me share it. It's my fault you're in pain anyway."

His phone pinged again. "eugh, lemme just check this."

He did so, and sent a message back. [Are you okay?]

[I'm fine, don't worry,] Asher wrote back.

"Yea but still..."thaila admitted worried he could cause matt more lain then he was in.

Matt put his phone away, well at least everything was okay across town. He shook his head. "Thalia, believe me, I know what i'm getting myself into. We can sit and feel crap together till the painkillers kick in. At least if we're sharing the pain, we might both be able to function. The other option is I take you to your room and let you sleep it off, but I seriously doubt you can sleep in this state. "

"Let..let wait till the drugs kicked in okay?" He said softly, "let just get me to my room..."

Matt nodded and helped him to his room, helping him into bed and sitting with him, stroking his head gently.

Thaila tightly closed his eyes as he took a shakey breath while curling up with matt, "I hope whatever is going on things will be alright.."

"it will be, it always works out. " He just sat quietly, running his hands through Thalia's hair.

DAY 7, EARLY MORNING

Asher's internal clock told him that the moon would be down soon. He powered up his idling processes and waited for the monster to turn back into Kay.
