Upon Vestia: Chapter Twenty-Five

Starr shrugged and looked out the window again. "I don't know. I just want things to be normal."

Kay was skeptical about that, usually when people claimed they could keep others in their place around here it turned out to be a complete lie. hmm.
He nodded curtly.

[We have a fairly decent supply of blood, both humanoid and animal. ] Though he'd really rather the humanoid blood supply was kept for emergencies hmm. [Keeping you fed shouldn't be a problem. ] Now dealing with the crew's reaction was a whole other matter.

He noted kay reaction and chuckled though somewhat bitter, "I'm the older one in the pecking order, no matter hoq much he probably going to attempt to challenge me I have nearly five hundred years od gladiator training undee my belt. Believe me his scrawny ass will not win." Marcus said firmly while listen to kay, "if need be I have money and connections to get more blood."

"I have some of my supply left, we can use from it." Sawna said. "I can survive on the animal blood supply we have."

Ethan listened curiously, still holding onto those audiobooks. "And is he going to try to challenge us when you're not near him?" He asked. "Because we're all fucking sick of being attacked by people on our own ship."

"No, you guys don't release pheromones." Marcus huckled sheepishly, "to us your scent just helps us tell where you prefer to hang out at. I on the other hand being a, ah, alpha male.." he let that hang figuring the others could figure out that meaning.

Ethan snorted. "Good. If you two want to fight, have at it. As long as it doesn't get us hurt or our property damaged."
Organic species with their male dominance nonsense. Ethan wanted no part in it.

Marcus chuckled, "Better two male Arrans then a female in the room, she would be kicking both our asses." He mused.

Sawna tilted her head at that information, wondering if his people were sensitive to her people's pheromones. Pretty much every species had their own version, even humans, though of course it was stronger in some than others.

Kay frowned. [We have sparring rooms, do try to keep any dominance struggles to such places if you must indulge it. I really don't think any of us want to have to clear up the mess if you two start tearing into one another.] Eugh, why couldn't they just be a nice civilized species? A little of his Imperium prejudice might have been coming out here, he couldn't help but think the major trait of a civilized race was their ability to control their animal instincts.

[If you're both safe to move we can escort you to your rooms.] He rather wanted them out of here. [Is it safe to keep you together?]

He nodded, "It would be, better that way since I don't think any of you know Arran." He said refering to speaking it.

Kay nodded solemly. [Vestia, is there a room for these two?] Preferably one far from everyone else just in case.

Vestia considered her rooms. "Do you want it near the med bay, or do you want it to be a bigger room?"
That was Vestia's diplomatic way of asking if it should be near the med bay, or far away.

Marcus rolled his eyes, he wasn't stupid and new racism when it reared it ugly head, "Or would you feel safer to have us caged instead?" He was totally referring to the fact being many still viewed Arran as nothing more then talking animals.

[I think a larger room. Give them some space, and peace and quiet.] Kay frowned and wrote carefully so Marcus and his kid couldn't see [I'd like to keep them away from Matt as well if possible, he's not very happy about this.] He looked back to Marcus, eyes narrowing. [I thought you'd be more comfortable in a room rather than the brig. You aren't prisoners after all.]

"We are not going to cage you unless you make us do so" Starr said with a shake of her head. "Maybe one of the suits, so they can have their own space but still have the same room?"

"What is comfortable for us may not be for you, we are after all 'guests'." He remarked.

"Bigger room it is," Vestia said. "Look, Marcus, you worked with the guy who captured us and made our lives hell twice. Forgive us for being cautious, okay?"

"I don't care about that, I really don't blame you. It the underlinimg racism some of you have is what aggravating me." Marcus said bluntly.

Kay nodded to Vestia's remark. [You must understand that some of this crew are still very angry and may be inclined to take it out on anyone they view as having a role in what was done to them. Fair or not, it's better for you to be kept separated until we know what the situation is, for your own safety AND for our crew's safety. You yourself have admitted your son here isn't fully in control of his instincts, the people on board this ship deserve to feel safe in their own home. Please understand that. We'll try to make you as comfortable as possible, it really is the best we can do.] This guy was annoying him but he was trying very hard to be diplomatic. Just like last time, ungrateful. A large part of him wanted to simply wash his hands of them and leave it to the others to deal with.

Vestia nodded her camera to Kay, grateful for his attempts at dplomacy. Having one of Matthew's crew on board again was stressful, ugh.

Ethan just watched, still holding those books.

Asher stayed back, watching the others worriedly.

Marcus sighed, go figure that Kay would cover his 'racial moral' high ground with 'due caution'. The Arran said nothing after Kay finished and looked st Vestia camera. "just move us to where you see fit."

"Sawna, Ethan, maybe Starr, would you guys escort them to their room?" Vestia asked. "I'll have a bot lead the way."

Ethan nodded. He had the books, he might as well carry them a bit longer. Besides, he could fight if needed. Although Sawna and Starr were both better fighters, probably.

Sawna smiled and nodded "I will." She said happily "It'll be good to know where to send the blood to when it's needed"

Starr nodded too "I would be glad to."

Kay nodded and went to sit down at his desk. Eugh, this was either going to be okay or it was going to be awful. Problem was, he had no way of knowing which and after previous encounters and the endless problems with some ex crew, he wasn't overly optimistic any more. Particularly not with someone who already had a history of being morally dubious.

Marcus nodded, "i can walk if it makes things easier." He offered.

"That will" Starr said and looked to the bed. "Though he should stay in the bed for now. We can use the gurney to get him to your room."

Sawna nodded then smiled and joked. "If you get tired, you could sit on the bed as we walk."

"Right. You can move the gurney, my hands are full," Ethan said.

Vestia's bot showed up.
