Upon Vestia: Chapter Twenty-One

Luka made a face. "gross. Computer, regular clothes please." She looked relieved as the gown disappeared and she was just in her usual cargo pants and vest. "Who should we go annoy then?"

Ellie thought Matt looked annoyed for a moment. Huh, that was odd. She really didn't seem to be understanding him well lately, and it was kind of disconcerting. "We know you can totally look after them by yourself," she said, "It was an idea, but you can totally take them to the holodeck."

"okay kids." Matt patted each one on the head. "Let's leave these guys to their... thing. " He looked back at Ellie. "if you need me, just get Vestia to call okay?" He stood up. "I'll get these guys outta your hair." He grinned suddenly at the dragons. "Who wants snacks?!"

Ellie smiled at Matt. "Have fun! We'll call you when we need that water!"

"Snacks" Kerr and Vella called together then chirped happily at Matt before looking to the others there "Bye, bye"

Shane chuckled and waved to the babies, coming over to Ellie's side. "Bye little ones, see you later."

Dawn paused and waved to them, hearing the 'byes' before she went back to work again. They were nearly done here

"Bye guys! Be nice to Uncle Matt!" Ellie called. She turned to watch Shane and Dawn as they worked to complete the project.

Matt took the baby dragons to the mess hall for food. "So what do you guys eat?" He asked. "What's the best thing?" Hey, irresponsible uncle right? hah.

Shane and Dawn soon had the entire floor covered with the dirt, ready for the seeds when they arrived.

"Meat" Vela and Kerr answered together. They ate fruits and vegetables, but they loved meat.

The shipment of seeds arrived after a bit on the back of one of Vestia's largest bots, in a large sack. Ellie hurried over, grinning. Ooooh yes, this was the part she was excited for! "Vestia, can you raise the humidity in here?" she called.

Vestia obliged, turning on the misters in the ceiling.

"Guysguysguys use your magic to scatter the seeds for me!" Ellie called to Dawn and Shane.

Shane chuckled and came over, but stopped when Dawn asked him to.

Dawn looked at the bag, making one of her tiny tornadoes to pick the bag up and start distributing the seeds over the entire grounds at one time, even burying them in the dirt a little so they could grow that much easier. She was having fun with all of this, making it a bit of a show for them.

"Man, our tractor couldn't do that," Ellie said, impressed. "It just scattered the seeds over everything, and then we had a drone to chase the birds away when they tried to eat the seeds." She headed over to an area that Dawn was done planting, and took off her shoes and socks to get a better connection to the plants, before beginning to feed her power into the dirt, causing the seeds to begin rapidly germinating. "My parents would sooo hire you, Dawn!"

Matt laughed. "Awesome." He set the dragons down on a counter top in the kitchen and found they had a stockpile of absolutely totally fresh meat... hmm.. and a whoooole lot of blood too. Well, someone had been busy.
He'd have to tell Sawna there was animal blood.
He took out a pack of fresh meat. "How are you guys are tearing it apart? or do you like it all sliced up?" He found a chopping board anyway, and a knife so he could cut the meat into manageable chunks. He idly wondered what the heck animal this was, one of the goats? Hmm.

Dawn chuckled softly, moving on to the farthest areas to finish them up. "Not sure I would want to give up being a doctor now, I'm finally getting good at that" She joked.

"We can tear" Kerr said, giving a solum nod then ruining the look by grinning again. "But chunk good too"

Vela watched him take the meat, curious as to the animal it came from too, but more curious as to if he was going to cook it or not.

"We'd make sure it was a part-time job," Ellie joked back, focusing her attention on growing strong root systems for the new grasses and clovers as she began to move across the field. "You'll be able to be a part-time doctor too."

Dawn chuckled softly, finishing the planting with a flourish then sighing softly and going to find a place to sit. "Once we get the grass grown we need to figure out where to put fences, a chicken coup and maybe some benches to sit on."

Shane walked with Ellie, wanting to help her but uncertain how, so he watched to see if he could learn how from her.

Matt sliced the meat into strips and idly popped a piece into his mouth, chewing it for a bit. "hey it's not bad. I have no idea what it is, but it's not bad." He offered them the plate. "unless you want it cooked, I can probably just about do that without starting a fire." He joked.

Ellie nodded. "This grass is going to take a couple days to reach maturity," she said, "I don't have the stamina to get it all ready for livestock in one day. If you can pick an area to fence in to start with, I can focus on that so the vegetation will be strong enough to survive the goats today."

Dawn nodded and looked around for a good spot to start with for the goats "Maybe over here, we can fill the valley with water so they can drink from it like a pond. Shane, do you think you can do the fence?"

Shane nodded and walked over to where Dawn was to mark out the fence area before he would go to get what they needed to make a fence with.

Kerr and Vela picked up a piece to try it before digging in "Is good" Vela said happily

"Awesome, I'll start working on the grass, but I'll leave the valley empty," Ellie said. She headed to the marked area and turned her attention to making the grass grow rapidly, trying to ensure it was healthy and strong. She was starting to get sweaty and out of breath from the effort, accelerating the life cycle of thousands of plants was pretty draining work.

Matt grinned at the little dragons. Yep, much better than looking after kids who asked for stuff he had no idea how to prepare or cook. Hah. Raw meat, excellent.
"Someone's been busy today." He agreed with Vela. "We have a whole fridge full of fresh meat for once."

Starr wandered to the new ranch and peeked inside the door curiously. She saw Dawn and Ellie and headed over towards them "Hello"

Shane went to get the supplies needed for fencing and a coop and ordered a few chickens and some fish to be delivered in a couple of days to give them some time to set up for them before he headed back to the room to start his part in this.

Kerr and Vela ate until their little bellies were full, then they laid on the table, resting and letting the food settle.

Ellie looked up at Starr's voice, and smiled, stopping the flow of her power. "Hey Starr! Check out our new magic project! Isn't it great?"

Starr chuckled and nodded, looking around the place "It is big, what are you up to?" She asked, coming over to them and looking at the grass "It's nice to have real grass here." She wanted to shift and roll in it, even if that was a bit undignified.

"Dawn bought a lot of goats and she wants to farm them, so we're making this golf course into a field," Ellie explained. "It's gonna be so nice once it's done, lots of room for animals and for us to enjoy actual grass!" She wiped some sweat off her forehead as it tried to drip in her eyes, "It's hard work, but so worth it."

Matt smiled at the baby dragons, petting them both on the head gently. "You guys are so cute. " Man, they were SO cute. But if they fell asleep it was gonna be a bit awkward to carry them both. Hmm. He put out his hands. "okay guys, all aboard. Let's go find somewhere to sit and rest yeah? Maybe there's some cartoons to watch."

Starr chuckled and nodded as she looked to Ellie "Maybe you should take a little break then come back to this? Have a snack and drink or something?" She asked, a bit worried for the younger girl.

Vela and Kerr went to Matt, climbing into his hands "Ellie show cartoons before, they fun." Kerr said then yawned.

"Yeah, maybe so. I dunno how all those anamcara make this look so easy, it's hard," Ellie said. Although it had been a lot harder a few months ago, so maybe all the practice the anamcara had helped them out. "I could totally use a soda right now."

"yeah, cartoons are awesome. We didn't get to watch tv as kids... we didn't have a tv." Matt chuckled and headed for the rec room, leaving the mess for someone else to clean up hah, probably a bot.
"so they're all new to me too."

He'd set up a tv to play some cute cartoons and curl up on the sofa with the little dragons on his lap.
