She chuckled, "It is, trust me I been there." Softly her face faltered before returning back to normal. "anyway... i uh have no clue what else to ask." Thaila said sheepishly.

The hound lead the way, following Starr's scent with confidence at first, then growing less sure at the point where they vanished. Tala crouched down and sniffed at the ground at that point, picking up keeper scent. Hmm.

They managed to follow the now-weakened scent trail to the spaceport, right up to where the ship had been. Tala concluded that Starr and the keepers must have left on a ship, so she went looking for a spaceport manager to ask about the ship that had last been parked there.

She'd inquire when it had last been seen, and whether it might be tracked or located, or if it had any identifying features that could be used to find it.

The manager saw them, looking up the docking station they were talking about then letting them know which one it was. "Looks like the uh, took the red one." There was a tracker, but it seemed to have been turned off or blocked currently, so he sent someone to find any info to have that went to Vestia for them

"You have our gratitudes," Tala said. She nodded gratefully as the information was sent to Vestia. "Is there anything else I should be aware of?"

"That one was being repaired, it has a faulty H-drive, but that means if it was engaged, it could take them anywhere in the universe." The manager replied then shrugged "Unless they dump it somewhere and steal another." Yep, those keepers were now thieves.

Tala snorted. "Anywhere?" The universe was huge, heck, even this galaxy was bigger than any mortal could travel in a lifetime. "She could well be lost then." They'd have to search nearby spaceports and impound lots before giving up, though."

He nodded "That's only f they use the h-drive though, there is no reason to think they have yet, no trail. I assume because there has been no pursuit yet. They may even have had the h-drive offline when the ship as taken." Yeah, last few days hadn't been running as smoothly with all the prep for the war.

"You have our gratitude," Tala said. "We shall seek our friend and the scum who took her! I must go and speak to my friends to plan Starr's return."

He nodded and waved to her "Glad we could help"

Tala left, returning to Vestia to try and organize a rescue party of some sort.

Skye came to the capital, flying over it a bit then coming to land near Orel when she saw him "Hi"

Orel looked up as Skye flew in, unable to keep himself from smiling. "Hey Skye. It's the day after doomsday, how's it feel to have survived?"

Skye smiled then sighed "It is good to be alive, but sad to know who all was hurt and hasn't been found yet. How's your wing?" She could see it was bound.

"Yeah, it's too bad how much damage the Family did." Orel frowned. "A lot of good people got hurt or killed that day. Did your crew have many losses?" He fluffed the feathers on his good wing a bit, "Just a bullet wound and some bruising from the landing. I'll be fine in a few weeks."

"Starr, the queen of the star dragons is missing, Esk almost died, Shane was shot, and most everyone got bruises and scrapes, but no deaths thankfully." Skye said with a frown as she sat beside him

"That's not as bad as I'd expected," Orel said. "Most of you don't have any military training, right? I know we didn't. Somehow we made it through surprisingly alive. We only lost four artuvians yesterday, which is way better than we ever imagined."

Skye nodded then shrugged "We don't have formal training, but we fought them before and we survived, so..."

"I guess we're doing something right," Orel said. He looked out over the city at all the cleaning crews trying to repair the damage and locate all the dead. "We've struck a massive blow against the Family. The few who are left are going to be hiding for a long time."

Skye nodded and smiled a little "Yeah, we took quite a few of them out, I wonder how many are left and when we can go back to just being ourselves again."

"I wonder, too," Orel said softly. He looked at Skye for a bit longer than was strictly necessary, "I don't think the Family should stop us from being ourselves."

"I mean, not fighters anymore." Skye said then sighed and looked up at the sky again. "Some of the others are going to try to find Starr, but the rest of us are staying for now."

"Well we might always be fighters, but that isn't all we are," Orel said. He smiled sadly at her, "Your friends are very smart and resourceful. If anyone can find Starr, it'll be them."

Skye smiled at him again, nodding before she looked away, red tinting her cheeks as she remembered the kiss she had given him before the fight.

Orel looked at Skye, noticing her blush. "Skye?" He asked, looking unsure. "Can I ask you something?"

Skye nodded and glanced over to him again "Yes?"

Orel adjusted his wings nervously and looked at the ground far below, before meeting Skye's eyes. "That kiss yesterday, what did it mean exactly?"

Of course he would want to ask about that. She blushed deeper and looked away again, shrugging. "I like you, even when you made me angry." She mumbled.

Orel watched her, really not sure what to think at this point. "But... Was that kiss a one time, now-or-never thing? Or does it mean you're interested in dating?"
