She chuckled, "It is, trust me I been there." Softly her face faltered before returning back to normal. "anyway... i uh have no clue what else to ask." Thaila said sheepishly.

Of course he would want to ask about that. She blushed deeper and looked away again, shrugging. "I like you, even when you made me angry." She mumbled.

Orel watched her, really not sure what to think at this point. "But... Was that kiss a one time, now-or-never thing? Or does it mean you're interested in dating?"

Skye shrugged again, unable to look at him right then. "That's more up to you really."

"You were the one who kissed me though," Orel pointed out, looking down at the city again. Man, until yesterday, he'd assumed everyone was exaggerating how great kissing was. Now he'd actually tried it, he understood a lot better. He shook his head, trying to not get distracted by the memory. "Look, I know there's the whole... religion thing that I thought was such a huge obstacle before. Maybe it's the adrenaline and my hormones talking, but that doesn't seem like such a big obstacle now." He blushed. "I realize you might not feel the same way about the situation though, and that's okay."

Exactly, Skye thought, she had made a move, next was his turn. "Moone has a point, but even she is the first to admit she doesn't know for sure. My feelings didn't change, I just was angry."

"Maybe our beliefs about Rycdos don't matter in this situation," Orel said. "We're so far from Artuvia, in a city full of magic users. Things are different here."

Skye nodded and glanced to him again. "Living with magic users certainly makes you think differently

Orel nodded and scooted a bit closer to Skye. He looked into her eyes, feeling very awkward about this. Was this really a good idea? Probably not. Did he care? Sort of, except Skye was sitting there, and looking at her seemed to be making all his sensible arguments for staying away vanish very quickly.

Skye smiled and dipped her head when he moved closer. She was glad he wasn't as upset anymore.

Orel leaned in to kiss her, glad that this time they weren't being watched by their Artuvian combat unit. It was a bit less awkward this way, without his friends watching in amusement.

Skye looked to him, leaning in a little and returning the kiss. It was way more relaxed now, now that they weren't being watched and the war here was over. She was actually able to enjoy it more this time.

Orel decided it was even better this time, since there was a whole lot less going on to distract him now. He eventually pulled away, that dumb smile forcing its way onto his face just like last time. "Nice to not have an audience this time," he said.

Skye smiled and nodded, dipping her head again. "Yeah, no audience is good." She agreed, though she wouldn't have really noticed had there been one again.

As if on cue, a few Artuvians came spiraling out of the sky, aiming to land on the roof.

"Hey Skye, hey Orel!" a mallard called. "Didn't expect to see you guys up here."

A crow girl gave the two a knowing look, grinning a bit.

"And it's over" Skye said softly, glancing around and waving at the others. "Hello everyone."

Orel looked amused. "I guess we can't get much privacy here, can we?"

"Did we interrupt something important?" One bluejay asked innocently.

"We just saw you guys and wanted to see if you wanted to come to the Artuvian 'holy crap, we're still alive' celebration that's scheduled for tonight," a conure said, ruffling her green feathers.

Skye flushed and looked down at the rooftop they were sitting on. "Yeah, I can go. No one has said when we are going to get the kids back yet."

Orel nodded. "I'll go too, sounds fun.."

The conure went over to Skye, and patted her shoulder sympathetically. "They'll tell you when. Until then, you might as well enjoy yourself here at the Guild."

Skye nodded and patted the female's hand gently "Yeah, thanks. Even if all it does is distract me, that'll be fine."

"Hey," the bluejay smiled a bit, "Sometimes it's good to take your mind off things, even if it doesn't solve the problem. I'm sure your sister would want you to have some fun until you can go get her."

Skye dipped her head again "Yeah, she probably would" She agreed softly

"See you tonight then," the bluejay said cheerfully. "Don't lose track of time!" She winked at Orel.

Orel blushed. "Seriously, Celeste? Seriously?"

The jay cawed out a laugh and flew off.

Orel shook his head. "Some people."

Skye hid her face against her pulled up knees, waving the other Artuvians off then looking to Orel again.

The Artuvians flew off.

Orel sighed. "Sorry about them. They're nice guys, I swear, just... Kind of annoying sometimes."

Skye smiled softly and looked up, nodding "Yeah, they seem nice enough"

"I think they're just jealous. There aren't that many Artuvians of any species here, much less in their own age range. Some date outside of their species, but a lot just don't bother," Orel said sagely.

Skye nodded and looked back to him again "And even less of our kind here or anywhere else." She said sadly
