Luka nodded. "Aye aye captain." She turned the ship and dropped back into the city.

A little ship came down to pick up the boarding party. It would cloak and lift off as soon as everyone was on board.

The Family were still trying to bargain for their lives. Cowards.

Swarm found Dawn, but didn't really know how to wake her. They tried telepathically calling to her while buzzing around her head. "Dawn? Dawn?"

Luka and the SD would pick up anyone else they could and take off again.

the representative got tired of hte family's snivelling. "Prepare to be boarded." they repeated, cutting the signal and then giving the order. "Take out their shields."

The fleet opened fire.

Other ships took off to join those surrounding the larger ship, though one of them didn't stop, slowly moving away from the guild and not drawing attention until it turned and bolted.

Rigel opened the doors when they landed, allowing their and Vestia's remaining crew to board so they could go back up

Dawn was unresponsive, even to telepathic communication, but was alive. She was simply too exhausted, her body wouldn't let her wake until it had recovered

The Family tried to fire back, but they were just about out of ammo now. They diverted a ton of power to their shields, shutting down all non-essential functions such as air circulation and gravity, and lights.

The shields would hold for a while, but eventually they would weaken and then fail, giving the boarding crew a chance to dock and cut the airlock open.

Shane did what he could, making another star to first attack the shields then their guns before moving to find an airlock he could use to get in through.

"We will get help." Swarm determined, heading off to find someone who could pick Dawn up and take her to the hospital.

As soon as the shields gave up the various boarding parties took to each airlock, starting to break their way through.

The airlocks held for a while, but eventually they would give out too.

Hopefully someone was pointing a scanner at the door as they opened it, because otherwise the anamcara would ambush as soon as they made it through.

Mourn was ready as the airlocks opened, gun set to fire.
he let out a massive yowl as anamcara flooded in and fumbled for the scanner, setting that off and hissing.

The guild's own boarding parties didn't have medical scanners, but were anamcara themselves. Several fights broke out across the different airlocks as guild and family clashed.

Shane got in and joined in the fighting to subdue the last of the Family that remained here.

James fired on the anamcara and keepers that attacked as the airlock opened, and noticed the Family ship was a zero g zone now. Oh, that would be interesting.

Ellie scanned the anamcara and screeched at them.

Ethan stayed back, waiting to kill keepers that the others had weakened.

Throughout the ship, Family keepers, anamcara, and the very occasional Terran, fought frantically for their survival. The struggles against the guild anamcara were loud and bright, with lots of explosions.

Mourn floated through the ship, shooting at anything that moved. It wasn't so easy to shoot stuff in zero g though, so he switched to his claws and sword, setting the medical scanner to constantly broadcast in the hope that the radiation eminating from it didn't need to be directional to deter anamcara.

Shane wandered through the ship, using his magic and guns, once he figured out there was still air here, to take out those he could, but he had no scanner or dagger to take out the keepers.

The scanners radiation didn't need to be directed at the anamcara to hurt them, which was convenient.

Ethan killed a few keepers with his dagger, he shot at them too to weaken them, but that was tough in zero g, and he wasn't much use. Mostly he relied on James to shoot as they worked their way into the ship, and James supplied a scanner to protect them from anamcara too.

Meanwhile the guild anamcara were making rapid progress in capturing the Family anamcara, who were relatively fewer in number.

Shane could shoot and fly around the ship fine, but being alone made him vulnerable. He got shot and shoved into a room for now.

Mourn couldn't hear anything sneaking up on him, and in zero g there were no vibrations in the ground to give him a hint.
So a Keeper managed to get behind him and grab him around the throat.

Mourn YOWLED in rage, flailed, spat and tried to kick, bite and claw at the Keeper.
He got a few good swipes in but the keeper was stronger and Mourn couldn't breathe so well with hands around his throat.

He kept screaming and howling as much as he could though, making quite a racket as he fought, but the more noise he made the harder the keeper pressed down on his neck. He gurgled, unable to keep screaming and his struggles weakened as he started to black out.
Once he stopped struggling the Keeper threw him into a room and locked the door.

Ellie was fighting with a couple of other non-anamcara fighters. They were attacked by a keeper who turned into a huge porcupine and charged right into the middle of the group. Some spines made it through her armor, which hurt so much, oh my gosh. They managed to sedate it with a hail of bullets long enough for someone with a dakkon dagger to arrive and finish it.

Ethan's shoulder felt awful, but he was used to working through pain and could handle it.

James shoulder, on the other hand... It had been repaired after the minotaur attack a few weeks ago, but the metal was weakened. James got pinned under a keeper for a while before Ethan could finish it off, and his shoulder tore apart in his struggles. Oh crap.

Some medics came to get Dawn and took her back to the main hospital, the medics were all worked to maximum and all the medical facilities were at maximum capacity, they were having to leave people on stretches anywhere there was space.

Eventually Ethan and Ellie and James, along with a number of fighters and some anamcara, found their way to where the prisoners were being kept. There weren't many Family people left, so they started freeing everyone.

Rigel continued to fight, shooting at the keepers and amanacara while holding onto pieces of the ship and instructing anyone near him to to the same so they didn't get thrown by their own weapon fire. He killed quite a few mooks like this, and downed the keepers so that a dagger-wielder could take those creatures out. He was in his element here, space fighting with zero G

Skye was glad to see the rescue forces arrive and stood up, waiting for her door to be opened and the manacles taken off so she could help fight again

Luka remained with the devil, ready for a quick getaway if neccisary.

Mourn came around and found himself locked in a room, which just pissed him off. He kicked on the door a few times, then looked around for a vent or something to crawl through. grrrr.

Advantage of no gravity was that he could float up to the ceiling grate, giving him access to the air ducts which were just big enough for his small frame to crawl through.

Ellie opened Skye's cell. "Be free, hawk girl!" She said. Yeah, she was a bit loopy from pain and exhaustion by now.

Skye chuckled softly and went to Ellie then turned to show her the manacles "Got a key?" Hey, Ellie was weird sometimes anyway, so it was just funny to her.

Shane was locked in the room he was in, though he wasn't in the dark, having made a star for light.

"Oh. Uhh..." Ellie frowned, she didn't have a key for those. "Guess you're not free yet, never mind."

"I could shoot the chain," Ethan called helpfully. He had just finished reloading his gun.

Mourn noticed a light and headed for it, peering down from the grate into the room it came from.
Ooo star.
"Dragon boy!" He rummaged through his pockets and pulled out a screwdriver, awkwardly trying to use it to loosen the bolts on the grate.
