She chuckled, "It is, trust me I been there." Softly her face faltered before returning back to normal. "anyway... i uh have no clue what else to ask." Thaila said sheepishly.

The Professor sighed in relief as cold water covered him, eventually leaning back and closing his eyes again. "You have your uses then plant mage..." He told her. "How goes the battle?" He rested his head against a wall, hands folded.

The keeper seemed to fall for Shane's ruse, moving to try to cuff him.
He cried out as Shane moved the sun, screaming at it consumed him. The cuffs clattered to the ground.

The Family's troops were scattered and starting to fall back. A few small squads had already surrendered, seeing their keeper leaders destroyed like this did not do a lot for morale.

James smiled a bit back at Starr. "I hear the most noise that way," he said, pointing in a direction, "Maybe we'd better start there."

The aketi engineers were grateful for the water from Sawna. They stayed where they were and watered themselves.

Tala and her minotaur allies fought for a while longer, but Tala was weakening now, a few bullets had made it through her armor and the pain was beginning to slow her down. She was going to be pretty useless for a while after this battle, once the adrenaline wore off.

Orel was still looking for Skye, and occasionally picking off keepers, until a well-placed bullet struck his wing, and he plummeted to the ground, where he lay shaking and gasping in pain. He dragged himself and his dakkon dagger out of plain view, and tried to spot any artuvians he could flag down to hand over his dagger to.

Ethan was still fighting, keeping himself in moderately good condition because he was mainly trying to only engage already wounded keepers. He finally got a chance to tell someone where Asher was, but it was going to take a while to get Asher moved, because he was a pretty low risk patient right now. He wasn't going to die from blood loss, and he couldn't be repaired to fighting condition either, so he could stay where he was a while longer.

Ellie smiled weakly. "We're struggling to stay alive, but they're having a harder time than we are I think."

The final airborne Family ship battled the Guild fleet a while longer, then without warning, it headed upward rapidly, apparently making an attempt to flee. With Skye still on board, presumably.

Shane growled, showing his teeth before going over to Matt to check on him and calling for medics to come get him to a hospital. He should have moved faster. When he saw Swarm come, he looked to them then up at the sound of the ship taking off. "No, they are not going to leave here" He growled, shifting and taking his sun up with him. He realized that could be a bad idea, if they managed to put out the sun, those two keepers might just regenerate again, so he left it just above the buildings and continued up towards the ship.

"Luka, she's trying to get away!" Rigel called out, frowning and firing at the ship.

Starr nodded and started walking with him to do what they could to help the other fighters. She saw Orel and went over to him to check on him "Hey, you alright?"

Skye was still asleep and strapped down on the ship as it attempted to leave the Guild planet.

Hewitt nodded, looking satisfied at that. He didn't open his eyes. "Good."

Mourn shot at a few more mooks even as they were trying to surrender. Surrender? mercy? HAH, no chance.
family scum, they die.

Luka growled at the big ship tried to take off. "Oh no, you aren't getting away that easy!" She urged the Devil after them.

The ships in orbit had blocked the family's retreat. Hopefully some of them would have scanners that could detect their own people on board so they wouldn't... you know... blow them out the sky.

Many of the Family's troops saw their only escape leave and lost hope. A few more groups surrendered.

The remaining Keepers either fought harder out of stubborn refusal to accept defeat, or teleported away to their ship to try to escape.

Swarm looked to Shane, then the sun and waited with Matt while the medics came.

Medics did come, and carried Matt to safety, to the nearest medical outpost which happened to be where Kay was working tirelessly to patch up the wounded and save as many lives as possible.
His scrubs were bloodied, he looked exhausted, but as he saw Matt brought in he rushed over to check him.

Matt was unconcious. Kay hurried to get him out of his armor and assess his wounds and get him stabilized.
He wasn't going to bleed out at least, the electricity had cauterized the wound and stopped the bleeding.
Whatever internal damage had been done, scanners showed no immediate threat so Matt was sent to recovery and Kay went back to work, biting his lip and fretting about the others. He hadn't seen the others yet, but that didn't mean they weren't in one of the other medical areas, or worse... he didn't want to think about that.
He threw himself into trying to resuscitate a patient who'd stopped breathing.

Orel looked up at Starr and James glumly. "Shot wing," he said, "I'm not going anywhere now." He held out the dagger to Starr, "Take this, it's useless with me now."

"Can I heal you a bit?" Ellie asked Hewitt. She was tired, but she hadn't actually been using much magic today since the grenades had been infused with the stuff ahead of time. "You look exhausted."

The last Family ship's retreat was successfully blocked, and it hovered in the air, trying to shoot down the other ships. After a bit, they started trying to hail the Guild on the radio.

Ethan found another keeper, and fought her desperately as she blocked his bullets and got close enough to rake abnormally long and sharp claws across his shoulder, slicing through his armor. He screamed in pain, and somehow managed to stab her in the stomach with his bayonet blade, which got her off him, before stabbing her in the throat.
Ow. Those claws hurt.

Hewitt tensed a little. "Heal? no, no.. i'll be fine, just need to rest. Too much energy expended." He looked up at the retreating ship. "Looks like they're running scared." He smirked.

Starr took the dagger then looked to James "Can you get him to a hospital?" She asked then looked around again. Yeah, there was too much fighting going on still for them both to go

Shane flew up and circled the ship, trying to figure out a way through the shields. He was glad they had stopped though.

Luka stopped pursuing the family ship when they were blockaided, watching and waiting to see what they'd do now.

James nodded and went to help Orel to his feet. The guy was pretty unsteady from the pain, but his legs were mostly okay other than some bad bruises from the fall, so he could move all right. "Go help them save the universe, Starr," James told her with a smile.

"Rycdos fly with you," Orel said.

"Okay," Ellie said. She grinned at the retreating ship. "Stay safe, man. I gotta go kill some bad guys now."

The Family were hailing the Guild fleet.

Hewitt nodded. "Give them hell." He smirked.

Whoever was in charge of the guild fleet answered the hail dubiously. They seemed to expect a trick.

Ellie nodded and raced off.

"We have something of your own here," the spokesperson for the Family said. "Come on, hawk girl, say your name for your friends." He held out the mic to Skye.

Starr smiled at Orel and shook her head a little, pulling both daggers she now had "You be careful" She said and raced off to dispatch more of them.

"Skye" Skye said at the prompting, They had bound her hands behind her back and over her wings so she couldn't open them before giving her something to wake her up enough to talk.

"You wouldn't want to hurt one of your own, would you?" The spokesman asked the fleet slyly.

James took orel to medical facility to get him fixed up.

The guild fleet representative scowled. "You have one individual. Verses the lives of countless others, it's a sacrifice we're willing to make."
They weren't falling for the Guild's tricks.

Vestia could probably listen in to this, it wasn't a private broadcast.

Luka certainly was, she frowned. "They have Skye." She looked horrified. "We need to get her back! Before they open fire on that ship!"

Oh darn, the Guild wasn't willing to bargain. "We have other prisoners too," the spokesman said a bit hopefully.

Vestia did hear the broadcast. Oh crap, somehow someone needed to stop this. She had no clue how to help though, she wasn't a battleship.

The guild representative's eyes narrowed. "Show them." they demanded. As far as they were concerned the family had very little to bargain with. they were cornered and their numbers massively reduced.

The representative was already planning a boarding party.

The Family paraded out about ten prisoners, including Skye. All the prisoners were alive and bandaged up if they were hurt. "Let us leave, and we'll give them back," the spokesman said.

"Why should we trust you?" The representative demanded. And why should they let them leave?

"Because the other option is to shoot us down, killing your own people in the process," the spokesman said. "You don't want to kill your own in cold blood, do you?"

Shane had no idea what was going on, but with the ships stalled, he waited, flying around anxiously.

Skye stood silently, yeah she had heard the guild's refusal, and even understood it, but it still hurt to hear you were disposable to them.

Starr noticed the lack of keepers left on the ground as she moved around, taking out those she could, keeper or mook. Anyone that tried to fight her. She did well against the remaining forces until two keepers teamed up, one drawing her attention to fight and the other sneaking up to use an electric attack, followed by a tranquilizer. The two vanished with her as soon as she was down. She was the only prize they wanted at this point.

Luka looked to Rigel. "We have to do something, they'll destroy that ship and those people!" Yeah, she'd been out of military too long, she was getting sentimental. Damnit, she wouldn't let Skye or any of the others die if they could be saved.
She spotted Shane on scanners but had no real way to hail him.
She sent a message back to the city.

"Family have taken prisoners."

"What do we do now Captain?" She asked.

The representative glowered. Yes they would kill in cold blood, only problem was justifying it to the other ships here.

"you're outnumbered and outgunned, Stand down and prepare to be boarded."

The message was relayed to Swarm, and any other messengers who were still active. The messengers told everyone who looked healthy enough to fight and weren't too busy, to go try and help.

James, Ellie, and Ethan each headed to help, Ethan with his bayonet while James and Ellie picked up scanners for the anamcara.

Maybe some small fleet craft would come down to pick up fighters to board the Family's ship. Hopefully some of them had cloaking tech.

Mourn took a medical scanner, and a holo emitter. Where'd that host drone got to? Hmm.. he couldnt' find him.
Dang.

Hewitt was asleep. Yeah he wasn't going to deal with this.

Mourn bounded off to find anyone else.

Most of the family's troops had now surrendered, having been abandoned by their superior officers they had no reason to keep fighting.
They were being cuffed and led away in groups.

Swarm and the other scouts spread out across the city to try to find survivors, as the battle drew to an end all that was left was to get the injured to medics and clear away the dead.

"Pick up whoever's still fighting and try to board?" Yeah, Rigel wasn't sure what to do, those shields were still up and strong.

Luka nodded. "Aye aye captain." She turned the ship and dropped back into the city.
