She chuckled, "It is, trust me I been there." Softly her face faltered before returning back to normal. "anyway... i uh have no clue what else to ask." Thaila said sheepishly.

"If the crowd down there don't get the bloodshed they want, I think we're going to be looking at a riot," the crow said. She frowned. "I know Merith will be put in a duel if he isn't sentenced to death, but these guys want way more than just Merith."

"That's not going to be good," the robin mused, shaking his head. "Maybe we should head out of the city before the trial ends, go have a picnic in the countryside or something."

"I want to see what happens," Orel said. He looked to the eagle, "We don't need to hide, we're immune to magic at least, and that's what the anamcara use when they lose their tempers."

"The amancara start fighting like that, we had best be nearer the ships." The eagle said quietly. If the ones who made this 'world' started to fight amongst themselves, then it could end very badly for the world, at least that's how he thought.

"The Peacekeepers wouldn't let it get out of hand, would they?" the robin said, "The worst we'd see is a few magic blasts. Right?"

The crow shrugged. "If the Peacekeepers don't decide to revolt at the ruling too. There are a bunch of people here who really hate Merith, and Vanessa, and Heny. Anything less than their death might be seen as way too light a punishment."

The robin looked nervous.

"Maybe we should head for the spaceport, then," Orel said. He didn't think things would get out of hand, but it'd be less scary for his robin friend at least. He looked up at the eagle, "I'd like to see the start of the trial, though."

The eagle nodded too then shrugged "I want to see the trial as well, but as soon as the verdict comes, I would go for the ships, cause one way or another, someone won't be happy."

Orel sighed. "Yeah, there's no way this is going to be good. I should probably tell my parents to head out of the city too." He chewed his lip, "You don't think Skye will be attending the trial, do you?"

The robin snorted.

"I have no idea. Maybe you should ask her," the crow said.

Orel nodded. "Probably. We should make sure the people we care about are prepared for the worst."

(How long do we want it to be until the trial, btw?)

The eagle nodded and looked over those gathered here "Not just your loved ones, let everyone know just how the people are acting here." He said and stood. "Be prepared, most of us already lost ships and loved ones to actions and attitudes like that displayed here." He said, pointing to the protesters.

The crow nodded. "Shall we split up and warn everyone who seems neutral?"

The eagle nodded and glanced around "Yeah, and the sooner the better, it's nearing lunch"

"Split up, meet back here for the trial or just head to the ships," Orel said. "May Rycdos guide you." He took off, flying away.

The eagle nodded and took off to. First stop would be the apartments then out to his friends at the science department.

Part of Swarm was in bird form, watching the crowds from a nearby rooftop and trying to make sense of all the different attitudes and signs and general noise.

Kasi had no idea what was going on and was eagerly getting as much information as he could out of anyone willing to explain.
So far he'd established these people had done horrible things and needed to be punished, but that the crowd feared justice wouldn't be done. He was a little bewildered as to why they didn't trust their leaders to dispense appropriate justice though. Wasn't their superior knowledge and wisdom why they were leaders?

This seemed to anger most of the people he spoke to, and he was ushered away over and over again.

The crow and the robin went their separate ways, seeking out people to warn. They avoided the ones who looked angry, and just went to the more puzzled or neutral looking bystanders to warn them away. The crow talked to a couple of worried-looking Terrans, the robin found a griffin, and Orel talked to some priests of indeterminate species who ignored him.
There were a lot of people to warn, so he ignored them too after a couple tries.

The city was, if anything, even more full of angry people now. Thanks to the efforts of the Artuvians, most not-angry people had left the streets and were hiding out wherever they could. A few stuck around because they were curious, but they were by no means the majority.

As the group came through the portal, many of the angry crowd turned to glare at them. Some pressed closer.

"Merith must die for his crimes!"

"Vanessa and Heny must face justice!"

"How many of you did Merith sleep with to buy your support?"

"If we sleep with more of you than Merith did, will you testify against him for us?"

Four peacekeepers came over, taking up positions around the group to clear a path for them.

Ellie glared at everyone.

Asher kept looking straight ahead, trying to ignore the crowd. All these angry people were terrifying, and he wished he could run back to Vestia and hide.

Starr looked around at the people with a strange look to her face before shaking her head "Do they really think the only ones that would stand up for forgiveness of past wrongs would have to sleep with the accused?" She asked, loud enough to be heard, though she wasn't talking to anyone in particular.

Kay clutched his tablet harder, gritting his teeth. Oh these people's words were bad, but their thoughts were worse. He did all he could to block them out.
Bloodthirsty assholes.

Matt glowered. He didn't have the self control or patience of his brother. "Fuck you." He spat.

Kay reached out a hand to his brother, shaking his head.

"So much for being perfect enlightened beings, they still bay for blood just like any other SAVAGE!" Matt called the last word loudly over the crowd.

Kay tightened his grip on his brother's arm and yanked him forward. Now was NOT the time to start a fight.

Armin kept his head low and kept close to the others, worried by the anger around them.

Swarm flew on ahead.

Mourn seemed completely unphased, then again, he couldn't hear what the people were saying. He moved ahead of the others, fearless and ignoring the people who he determined to be idiots.

Skye, Moone and Dawn saw the group, coming over to them through the crowd to join them. "These are all the people against Merith, those who are neutral and for him, or just for listening to the defense were warned to stay home in case of basically a civil war from these people" Skye said with a shake of her head.

"I'm glad the moderates are safe," Asher said softly. "This looks bad."

Ellie turned to yell at someone. Asher caught her by the shoulder and shook his head. They really needed to not say anything wrong out here.

The peacekeepers lead them to the courthouse, which had many peacekeepers and some huge screens out front now. Yikes.

"This doesn't bode well." Matt muttered.

If things go badly, we may need to make a quick getaway. Kay frowned deeply, his heart racing as theyapproached the court house. erp... this was stressful.

Armin kept his head bowed. "Good luck my friends, may justice, not vengeance, prevail." He spoke quietly.

"I don't think these guys know the difference." Matt growled.

"Do not allow your own anger to cloud your judgement friend, speak truth and you will prevail." Armin nodded.

Matt muttered something under his breath. He just couldn't summon the optimism Armin had.

Kay chewed his lip.

Skye frowned then shook her head "It looks worse than it could because the neutral and peaceful are not here to berate these idiots for not even wanting to give someone a chance." She stated as she glanced to the people. "Some people. I now know for certain I wouldn't want to stay here. I would rather take my chances out in the universe than stay with such intolerance in hiding." She said before they reached the doors

Starr nodded and looked to Kay I could fly us back in an earth dragon form. That's big enough to carry the non-flyers

The group, well at least the ones who didn't stay outside, was escorted into the courtroom where a number of people, including several Inquisitors, were already seated.

Merith was there, although at the moment he was in a silencing bubble because he didn't seem to want to be quiet.

A peacekeeper indicated their assigned seats.

Kay nodded grimly. He hoped the peacekeepers could keep the peace.

Mourn, Armin and Swarm, all observers, filed off to their seats. Armin looked back at the others. "Fortune smile upon you." He told them.

Kay gulped, looking to Asher worriedly as they were lead to their places.

Matt just trudged, quiet and brooding.

Starr and Shane went to take their seats, both glancing to Merith and taking note of the silencing bubble. Neither one liked that that was in place.

Sawna stayed with Skye, Moone, Dawn, Mourn, Aramin and Swarm since they couldn't speak for Merith.

(I don't think I can make this all very detailed haha, I don't know a whole lot about court proceedings, or the Guild.)

A few more people came in, most of them looking angry, some looking to Merith in his bubble with absolute grief in their eyes at the sight of him. They were seated away from Vestia's crew, on the other side of the room.

Eventually one of the Inquisitors called the courtroom to order.

The jury were sworn in under Archean Oath.

Another Inquisitor began to list Merith's crimes.

(hahah yeah, sorry. Uh... gloss over stuff and just get to like, interrogating people to make them uncomfortable hahaha)

(ahahahah, sure? I assume they take character statements at one point, then cross examine the character witnesses to get more context or something? I dnno, all my courth knowledge comes from court room dramas ahahaha)
