Good Cop Bad Cop: Chapter Two

Ellie watched Shane suspiciously. Was he trying to teach her things again? Hmm.

Dawn winced at the sound of him talking and moving the bucket, but she was glad of it soon after. Ugh, no, another reason she didn't drink offer, the next morning

Esk just shook his head. "Feeling up to going back to your room yet? Annoying loud people are likely to wander in here pretty soon."

Dawn frowned at that and used the blanket to cover her head again "Yeah" She muttered softly. She didn't like noise right now and tried to get up to try to walk, but would probably need help

Esk hesitated, looking down at his gloved hands. Mmm, this was dangerous, she SHOULD be okay. Good thing he always dressed to cover up as much as possible.
"Alright, just... careful." He cautiously reached out an arm to her so she could use him for balance.

Dawn looked to him then grabbed his arm to use it to help her walk. Good thing he had clothes and she was covered by the blanket thing he had found, so she was as safe as she could be like this.

Esk focused on trying to get her back to her room without her falling onto him or on her own face. He wasn't overly comfortable, that much was obvious by how tensely he moved.

Dawn was oblivious, having closed her eyes and holding the blanket over her head to block the light with one hand while holding onto his arm with the other. She wouldn't even know if anyone saw them unless they spoke.

Ellie came wandering down the hall, wearing a moose hat covered in purple glitter, and carrying a mug of coffee. "Good morning, guys!" She made a choking noise as she realized what she was seeing. "Wait what?"

"Shhh. hungover" Esk hissed at her, nodding toward Dawn and then staring at her hat. "What the hell are you wearing?"

Dawn flinched at Ellie's voice then squinted at her to see her "Morning" She said quietly then closed her eyes again, leaning against Esk more.

"Oh, sorry," Ellie, to her credit, did lower her voice to accommodate poor Dawn. "Me and Matt made hats last night. More importantly, what did you guys do and how did you do it?" She wasn't good at subtle questions.

"Shh" Dawn shushed her then shook her head a little, but quickly stopped that movement "Drink, drunk, sleep, no bed" She summarized, though they might not be able to understand that

Esk actually looked faintly amused at hungover Dawn. He also looked really... REALLY uncomfortable having her leaning against him. "Make yourself useful and find painkillers." He told Ellie, not answering her question. "Im taking her back to her room to sleep this off." He continued off down the corridor with Dawn. Yep, the sooner he could dump her into her own bed and off him the better.

"But... How... Okay." Ellie sighed and headed for the med bay to find painkillers.

Dawn just walked with Esk again, waiting for them to reach her room so she could lay down and be still for a bit again

Esk rolled his eyes and continued toward Dawn's room, hopefully he actually knew where the hell they were going.

Kay returned from breakfast and went to work. He was honestly expecting someone to crawl in with a hangover, Matt had been around, which meant drunk people.

Ellie pranced on, not looking at all hung over.

Asher looked up as she came in, he had been absently cleaning a countertop.

"Guys, I need painkillers," Ellie said excitedly.

Asher gave her a confused look.

Kay frowned [You're far too cheerful, who's miserable?] He looked suspicious.

Dawn wasn't any help, she had her eyes closed again, just following Esk's lead

"Vestia, directions?" Esk asked desperately. Dawn was clinging to him pretty tightly now and he was getting a bit anxious. He wasn't at all used to being clung to and sure she was safe, he couldn't hurt her unless he took his gloves off but it didn't mean he wasn't utterly and completely paranoid about it okay?

"Dawn's super hung over," Ellie explained.

"Dawn doesn't drink," Asher said, very confused now.

"Tell that to Dawn then," Ellie said.

Vestia directed Esk to Dawn's quarters.

Esk followed Vestia's directions.

Kay nodded to Asher. [She's far too sensible to drink, what happened?]

Dawn just walked with Esk, holding his arm until he got her to her bed, where she would lay down and burrow under the covers

"I dunno man, but it involved Esk. I think they're an item now," Ellie said in a conspiratorial whisper. "She was really clinging to him."

Asher couldn't stifle a laugh.

Kay looked confused. [That... isn't even physically possible.] Least he was pretty sure it wasn't, eugh, he did NOT need that mental image.
He went to get painkillers.
Ellie was probably just being her usual jumps to conclusions self, right?

Esk sighed and pulled up a chair till Ellie would come back with the painkillers. He found a glass and filled it was water in preparation. "You'll feel better in a few hours." He told her unsympathetically.

Dawn heard the water run to fill the glass and pushed up on one arm, reaching for the cup "Water helps" She said quietly

Esk nodded. "So does sleep. " And not being carried mostly naked into medical offices, thank you VICKY eugh. He was still pissed off about that okay?
