Upon Vestia: Chapter Ten

Matt pulled him into a tight hug. "it's okay..." He sounded more like he was trying to reassure himself.

Thaila held this annoyed look as he mumbled something about sleep, he briefly looked around before zeroing in on the couch, drug himself to it and collasped to doze.

Matt flinched at mention of werewolves. Thalia would probably get a pretty massive wave of projected anxiety from just that one word.

"Fireworks? Awesome.."

"Oh yes if there is one thing they do well out here, it is fireworks." Armin remarked.

[No sense waiting now.] Kay came over, watching Asher worriedly as he held out his hand. He wasn't looking forward to this, at all.

He did and cracked a eye open to glare directly at Matt, he did not need that headache.

Matt caught Thalia's eye, lowering his head. He was trying damnit.

between you and Kay it a miracle I haven't lost it today. What is going on? he asked him mentally.

Starr came up to put in an apperance s the others wouldn't be worried about her as they gathered for the party.

Shane grinned and headed over to one of the tables "Yeah, we made it so we could make our own decorations while we wait for the sun to set, a little something we can remember the night by later on and keep with us."


Skye understood that they couldn't rely only on guns, after all they had brought down some of the slavers who had guns without any themselves. She kept Moone close as they cleaned up a bit then headed to the party.

Matt frowned and came over to sit with him. "Wait.. what'd Kay do?"

"Almost decided I didnt need a head.." He mumbled groogily, his face into the pillow so the words were muffled.

Matt frowned, worry spiking. "Thalia... what happened? He didn't hurt you right?"

Asher selected a fairly standard laser wire cutter, and held it firmly against the bracelet, holding Kay's arm still with his other hand to make sure that Kay couldn't move and hurt himself. "I recommend looking away, in case any bright flashes occur," he suggested.

Kay nodded and looked away, squeezing his eyes shut.

Asher adjusted his grip slightly, trying to put his own repairable hands in the way of any harmful effects that might occur. This type of laser cutter was supposed to be very precise and not harm anything outside its beam, but who knew what magic might do? He turned the cutter on, and hoped for the best.

"so help me I am gonna knock you out with those mood swings.." He growled slightly, "All he did was lung at my throat, I kicked back. Admittedly I did tell him to fuck off right before that happen."

Matt flinched at that threat. "So.. no broken skin right? " He still looked extremely worried. "Yeah.. he's in a really bad mood. I suppose it's been a rough week. "

"Obviously no." He mumbled, "Sleep.."

Matt frowned and stroked Thalia's hair gently. He couldn't help but be concerned, hearing that Kay had lunged at someone's throat was pretty distressing and brought back way too many painful memories. He looked warily up at the dimming sky.
"Solstice.. and a full moon.. seems like a bad omen." He mused to himself.

The bracelet did spark, the cutter made an awful grinding sound as it tried to cut and there were a few flashes but nothing catastrophic.

Asher shut off the cutter and got ready to bend open the bracelet, which looked like it could be bent without much difficulty.

As soon as the bracelet was cut the transformation began, Kay flinched, grit his teeth and tried very very hard to keep his arm still as Asher tried to remove the broken metal.

At least this change was relatively quick though, almost as soon as the bracelet was totally off the transformation was complete.

Shuddering, Kay opened his eyes and pulled his hand back. He fluttered his wings softly as he watched Asher warily. This was the first time he'd really had a chance to see him in this form and actually process it.

"Some cultures see it as good luck.." He slurred while dozing.

"Not where i'm from. The full moon is bad, very bad... " Matt shook his head. " A full moon on Lengstnacht i'm sure has to mean something dire." He'd never been overly superstitious but something about this combination just made him really uneasy. It would be a proper Lengstnacht too, everyone in one place, trying to distract themselves till dawn and a monster somewhere out there, ready to murder every last one of them.

"Mmm." He mumbled before starting to snort.

Matt patted Thalia affectionately on the shoulder and let him sleep.

Asher stepped back, looking at his hands worriedly, and feeling a bit of relief that he had avoided being stabbed by Kay's rapidly growing talons. He looked at Kay again, properly absorbing the strangeness of his true form for the first time.

It was obvious why Kay preferred his humanoid shape. By the standards of most sapient species he had met, Kay's appearance was bizarre, and could be reasonably described as 'demonic'. He looked very, very different like this, and it was in some ways hard to believe that he was the same person at all.

Then Asher looked into Kay's eyes, and they were completely familiar, and undeniably concerned. This wasn't like the other form at all; this was Kay, not some monster, but the same man he had fallen in love with. "It's okay. I know you're still you, and that's all that matters," he said gently.

Kay nodded his head, it was a weird bobbing motion on that long neck. Yes, this form was extremely awkward. His hands were pretty much useless and those long claws nearly dragged on the floor thanks to his hunched back. He couldn't type obviously, in fact he'd set his tablet down before all of this with the other supplies.

He wasn't sure he believed Asher though, he was pretty certain that if he'd looked like this when they'd first met Asher wouldn't have developed nearly such affectionate feelings toward him.

Still, he looked grateful. It was pretty obvious this form couldn't speak even if it wanted to, he could barely manage to smile due to the way those tusks distorted his mouth. Thankfully he'd rather perfected the art of communicating with his eyes.

Asher wasn't entirely certain how to act around Kay in this form yet, but he figured he'd try his hardest to be a good boyfriend and take this all in stride. "Can I get you something to sit on? We have some time before you need to be in the cell," he said.

As Kay was put into the brig and night fell while the moon rises the party went off without a hitch. Thaila would happily snoze as everyone enjoyed themselves.

Yet, across the galaxy sorrow would fill the stars, a battle lost the echos of a planet exploding would reach across the galaxy. Only a few would escape to tell the tale, while those vessels blessed with their creator gifts would feel a darken sorrow and pain within their hearts. The party room would have a flash of light as a double winged being collasped to the ground, the wings burned and smoking as they seemed to be sheilding something other then the owner's body.

Softly chirping of fear could be heard.
