Upon Vestia: Chapter Ten

Matt pulled him into a tight hug. "it's okay..." He sounded more like he was trying to reassure himself.

Thaila laid their cuddled up with matt, softly smirking as he enjoyed his boyfriend blanket. "Well...I can feel my toes at least." He chucklex.

Matt laughed tiredly. "Yay progress!" He pondered. "I wonder how long before we're not totally wiped out."

"Mm guess we keep on trying until we find out." He grinned tiredly, just happy to be there.

"Like those restaurants where you bus your own dishes," Ellie told Shane in a sensible tone. "Less work for any one person, you know?"

Asher set down the tray on the bedside table. "No problem. Is there anything else I should get you?" he asked.

"I have never heard of a place like that." Shane said then shrugged. "Not a place my boss would have been to."

Kay chewed his lip, shaking his head. He was trying very very hard not to do something he'd regret when his mind was clearer, but it wasn't easy.
He fiddled with the bracelet around his wrist and remembered, cutting tools. They would need cutting tools later. He held up that arm.

Matt grinned. "Mmm, I like that idea.. but ... I think it'll be a while before I have the energy." He snuggled into Thalia, quite content to just lay there.

Thaila laughed, "Your not the only one."

Kay nodded, that seemed reasonable. Explanations, eugh.. he closed his eyes. Explaining why he'd attacked Thalia was going to be a little more tricky. Maybe it was better to just have the guy think he was psycho and live with it. He looked pained, and went to sit on the bed. He ddn't much want to eat, but he knew he should. He picked up his tablet. [How is Heny?] He asked, just for sake of changing the subject to something professional. Work always helped ease his scattered head.

"She's all right. Her hand was broken surprisingly badly, but I set it, and it'll heal fine. She didn't even wake up while I had her in med bay, thank goodness," Asher said.

Shane shrugged at that. "He would deem cleaning tables as beneath him. A lot of people think like that."

Kay nodded. [she must have been pretty mad to hit you. ] He looked faintly amused, even he wasn't that crazy, even with his head a jumbled mess... right? well, not right now anyway. No frustratingly he rather wanted to do something quite else and was trying very hard to control it.
[I take it that means she can't use either hand now? I vote Merith to be the one spoon feeding her.] He picked at his food.

"Well that explains his sense of entitlement," Ellie said. She wandered over to the curve of the window to look out at the ocean and beach below for a moment, before smiling at Shane. "We can make everyone bus their dishes."

"I thought she was awake, but apparently she wasn't and I took her by surprise," Asher grumbled, "I'd never been responsible for any broken bones before, so that was disappointing." He smiled, "And yes, Merith gets feeding duty. I don't think either of us has the patience for that."

"I thought she was awake, but apparently she wasn't and I took her by surprise," Asher grumbled, "I'd never been responsible for any broken bones before, so that was disappointing." He smiled, "And yes, Merith gets feeding duty. I don't think either of us has the patience for that."

Shane chuckled and shook his head then looked up at the vlear view above them. "Why?"

Kay shook his head. Definitely not. [At least you can fix any broken bones. Maybe she'll learn not to attack people trying to help her. ] He didn't look like he really thought that was a possibility.
He frowned, damnit, now he'd run out of medical responsibilities.

"That would be nice. At least she punched me this time, so there was no collateral damage," Asher said, smiling at that thought. "Should I let you go back to your book now?" he asked. No need to outlive his welcome here.

"For fun," Ellie said. "Everyone grabs their dishes and races to the galley. First one there wins."

Kay raised a hand to his own bruised face as Asher mentioned punching, frowning. Stupid Heny. Gah.
He winced, yes by all reasoning he should tell Asher to go, to run and leave him alone but... he really didn't want him to leave.

[It's not a very good book.] He told him, doing everything he could to avoid eye contact.

...Shane shook his head then looked at Ellie. "That might be fun for a short distance, but to get to the galley you have to ride the lift. Or shape space like Matt."

"Did you check to make sure she didn't break anything or give you a concussion?" Asher asked, slightly concerned by Kay's gesture. "Those bruises look fairly bad."

"Oh yeah, Matt will cheat. Boo," said Ellie.

Kay shook his head [I'll be fine.] He didn't mention the kick in the ribs, Asher would just worry about that too.

"Either way, that's too far to race with dishes, and not everyone could do that." Shane said then shrugged

"You're sure? She obviously punches pretty hard, since she broke her hand on me," Asher said, concerned. He moved a bit closer, trying to get a better look at Kay's bruises.

Kay flinched as Asher came closer, chewing his lip anxiously. She'd hit him a fair few times but thankfully she'd been sedated at the time so couldn't hit with her full strength. And Kay was a lot tougher than he looked. Still, those bruises were turning a rather impressive colour. She'd hit his jaw several times, managing to miss his nose or lip thankfully. She'd have done a lot more damage had she hit something softer.

He watched Asher, finally making eye contact with him and immediately regretting doing so. It made resisting doing something stupid so much harder.

Asher frowned, noticing that Kay was behaving rather oddly. "Are you sure you're all right? If you're hurt, you should tell me, you know."

Kay shook his head. [I'm not hurt. I told you last time, I can't control myself too well this close to the full moon.] He focused on typing. [Everything gets amplified.]

Everything. Asher considered that, concluded that Kay would probably have kicked him out already if he was angry. Which meant that whatever he was controlling wasn't anger...
"I should probably leave, if I'm making you uncomfortable," he said gently, keeping his words carefully vague. Yeah, he suddenly had a fairly certain guess as to what Kay was thinking about.

Kay tensed, staring down at his tablet for a moment, then he reached out, grabbed Asher by the collar and pulled him into a desperate awkward kiss.
