Upon Vestia: Chapter Ten

Matt pulled him into a tight hug. "it's okay..." He sounded more like he was trying to reassure himself.

Everything. Asher considered that, concluded that Kay would probably have kicked him out already if he was angry. Which meant that whatever he was controlling wasn't anger...
"I should probably leave, if I'm making you uncomfortable," he said gently, keeping his words carefully vague. Yeah, he suddenly had a fairly certain guess as to what Kay was thinking about.

Kay tensed, staring down at his tablet for a moment, then he reached out, grabbed Asher by the collar and pulled him into a desperate awkward kiss.

Well, that answered that question. Although it did raise a few others, such as whether almost-werewolf Kay was considered to be sober enough for this. Also what Vestia was thinking right now, darn it.

Kay pulled away, not really because he wanted to but because Asher seemed to tense up. He stared at Asher worriedly, had he just freaked him out? he'd totally freaked him out hadn't he? damnit. <sorry>

Asher smiled apologetically. "No, I'm fine. I'm just not sure about whether we should be doing anything, since your inhibitions are lowered. There's a lot of potential for regrets later."

Kay smiled oddly and wrote. [This doesn't make me do anything I don't already want to do. It just means I.. am not so good at thinking before I leap. ] He reached out a hand to gently stroke Asher's cheek, an affectionate gesture as well as a reassuring one. [I'm usually very good at talking myself out of things.] Mm, maybe a little too good at it.

Asher thought about that, then nodded. "You're not going to regret this later?" he asked. Regret was the worst. He didn't want to see Kay look at him that way, ever.

Kay tilted his head. Shrugged and kissed him again. Quite honestly right now he didn't care how he'd feel later. He was in for a crap night of pain and misery, and he was all out of other distractions. He set his tablet aside so it was out of the way. Nope, he really really didn't care if he regretted this later. That was later, this was now.

Well, Kay had had a terrible week. Maybe a break from that would do him good. But Asher was going to do what he could to prevent any regrets later, even if it ruined the moment. He gently pulled himself away from Kay again. "Vestia, could you open the camera maintenance panel, please?"

"Are you kidding me?" Vestia asked.

"Please?" he asked hopefully.

"Fine. You're mean." Vestia unlatched the panel, allowing it to swing open.

Asher went over and yanked the wires free, instantly shutting off all audio and visual feeds to and from the room.
There. That would go a long way toward easing any guilt he had later.

Kay looked irritated for a moment, then watched Asher in surprise. Ooo Vestia was gonna be mad at him about that. Good, she kinda deserved it after all the musical numbers and such.
He covered his mouth with one hand, silently laughing.

Asher smiled, pleased to have sabotaged Vestia's attempts at snooping. He returned to Kay and pulled pulled him into an enthusiastic kiss.

Ordinarily Kay probably would have freaked out at some point, had a panic attack and totally ruined the mood but the full moon rather overrode any of that. Any fear he felt paled into insignificance, all that mattered was Asher, the man he loved.

He curled up with his head on Asher's chest, trying to catch his breath. Well this was surreal. He smiled softly, so.. so surreal.

At first, Asher had had a nagging worry that Kay was going to be utterly disturbed by him. He was a robot after all, and some people found that concept impossible to get past.

With that concern no longer gnawing on his processes as Kay curled up against him, he was able to relax, and just enjoy the fact that they were here together. He didn't know what to say, but then again, maybe that was all right, because maybe nothing needed to be said at all.

Given what Kay himself was, being freaked out by Asher would be pretty hypocritical. Besides, his creators had done an incredible job of making him extremely realistic.
Kay lay there quite content, listening to the sound of Asher's body in fascination. This was nice, calm, soothing to just lay here together. His mind felt a lot clearer than it had, the frustration of earlier washed away in his happy exhaustion.

He shifted to look up at Asher's face, smiling tiredly. They'd have to get up eventually and start preparing for sunset of course, but right now he didn't want to think about that, he wanted to just lay here in Asher's arms.

He closed his eyes again. He knew he'd start fretting and worrying about things soon, but he managed to push that nagging doubt away telling himself that for now, just for a little while, he should be allowed to be happy.

Asher was in no rush to go anywhere; being here with Kay was such a welcome change from all the stress of the past few days--weeks? Months? He wasn't actually sure any more--that if not for certain very pressing matters, he would have been happy to stay as long as Kay wanted.
But of course, there were things to think about. He knew that they still had time before they needed to start trying to get the bracelet off, but that wasn't the only thing Kay should be considering. So after a while he suggested gently, "You know, you probably should eat lunch at some point."

Kay looked up at Asher, amused. Yeah, lunch had kinda been forgotten hadn't it? Oops?
He nodded and sat up, using a pillow to prod himself up. Fine, he'd eat. Mostly because if he didn't Asher would just look all disapproving and annoying.
He looked around for his tablet as he ate, because not being able to communicate fully was rather irritating.

Starr made her way to Kay's door after she returned from town. She knocked on the door and waited fr an answer.

Kay froze at the knocking, then looked to Asher with wide eyes. Shit.

He indicated the door to the bathroom, and fumbled around to find some clothes. Damnit. Damnit damnit damnit.
He hastily swallowed the last of his bread and pulled on his pants.

Hopefully he could get rid of whoever it was. He grabbed his tablet.

Starr would wait, knowing he couldn't call out to ask her to wait

Asher started hastily putting on his clothes too, and hurried for Vestia's com access panel. He held the disconnected wires in place so she could speak and hear. "Um, Vestia, a little help?" he whispered.

"No," the ship whispered back.

"You're mean," he muttered.

"You are too," she retorted.

He shook his head, released the wires, and ducked out of sight into the bathroom.

Kay shook his head, taking a few deep breaths and hoping his ruffled hair and flushed face wouldn't be too much of a dead giveaway. Ahem.
He ran his fingers through his hair to make it slightly less messy, pulled on a shirt and tossed the bedclothes back onto the bed.

Then he opened the door, looking a little flustered and doing his best to hide it.

Starr looked at Kay and smiled a little. "Hello Kay, I was just coming to check on you and make sure you were alright and had eaten."

Asher finished getting dressed and tidying his hair in the bathroom, nervously listening in on Starr's half of the conversation. At least it was Starr, and not someone gossipy like Ellie. That was a relief.

Kay nodded. [Asher brought me lunch earlier.] Hey it was true, just because he'd only just eaten it... ahem.
[I'm fine Starr.] Well he wasn't really but eh. He really didn't look like he much wanted to chat.
[What time do you want to meet up?] He had things to do, namely getting showered and changed and getting Asher outta here without witnesses ahem. It wasn't that he was ashamed or embarrassed so much as he just really didn't want the gossip, or people's annoying smirks, or Ellie's righteous lecture.

"Probably around 4 or 5 when they start their party." Starr said and looked down the hall then back to Kay "You can probably stay in here and claim sickness, no one has to know you aren't in here tonight. I can go to the start of the party and Asher can move you to the cell. I can join you both there. The only thing is when we take this bracelet off."

Kay nodded. That actually sounded pretty reasonable. [My brother will vouch for me being sick if anyone asks. He's pretty good at diversions.] He looked slightly awkward at her mention of Asher, she knew didn't she? damnit. Well, at least Starr wouldn't tell anyone else.
[We should remove this bracelet as soon as possible really, just in case it proves more difficult than expected. I would suggest making that our first priority upon reaching the brig, if I need to I can always shift into this form again to help set things up. It's just rather exhausting to do so. That said, more exhaustion means less energy for the wolf as well.] He shrugged. He was relieved to hear there was going to be a party, that would serve as a brilliant distraction. It also meant everyone would be in one place, which should the worst happen, made them more able to barricade themselves in safely.

Starr nodded and looked to the bracelet "Want me to go ahead and take it off now?" She asked gently
