Upon Vestia: Chapter Twenty-Eight

"Cause Esk is lazy and he wants someone to wait on Dawn, even though he has a massive crush on her and could wait on her himself," James grumbled. "At least that's what I assume was his motivation," he amended. "Your brother is weird. So Dawn's probably okay and not infected, that's good at least."

Mourn shrugged, picked out a leaf and gave it an experimental nibble.
Breaking the leaf seemed to do the trick. He blinked, sniffed at the leaf again and looked bewildered. Plants weren't supposed to smell nice were they?

Ethan watched Mourn try the leaf, noticing his change in expression. Maybe he'd spoken too soon.
"You all right?" He asked.

Mourn nodded slowly, picking out a few more leaves and rubbing them around in his fingers. He looked a bit conflicted. On one hand, the sensation wasn't unpleasant, on the other, being doped up sort of scared him. The robot part of his brain remained totally coherent, telling him this wasn't a good idea while his felid side insisted he should just lay down and rub his face in this stuff.

Ethan saw Mourn looking kind of hesitant. Hopefully the guy wasn't about to have panic attack or something, because that would be dumb. He hoped he hadn't made a mistake introducing Mourn to recreational drugs.
He looked up at vestia's camera, which looked back at him inscrutably.

Mounr blinked a few more times, dropping the bag and starting to make a weird noise. Was that.. purring? His tail twitched as he leaned back in his chair.

Ethan stared, trying not to laugh. For all that he was somewhat familiar with how cats reacted to catnip, seeing Mourn react that way was still pretty surreal. He kinda wished he was a cat for a moment. That looked fun.

He went to pick up the bag and stick it back in his pocket. No more catnip for Mourn right now, if he had any say in the matter.

Mourn opened his good eye to peer at Ethan as he came over, mrowing softly and then closing his eye again. He looked quite content. His robotic eye continued to click and whir, watching and relaying information but Mourn's organic side was not listening.

"I think he's okay," Ethan told Vestia. "I'll stay here until he comes out of it though."

"Good. I don't want him having a bad trip, if that can happen," Vestia said.

Ethan snickered. "Me neither. I didn't expect to be doing this today, but it is entertaining. I'm kind of glad I thought of it."

"You're a strange android," Vestia told him.

Ethan smirked, then sat down to wait and see how long it'd take Mourn to come back to reality.

Mourn purred and batted lazily at nothing.

Ethan snickered. Yep, this guy was totally out of it.

He picked out one of the books he'd bought today, and started reading.

thankfully perhaps the effects wore off fairly quick. After about half an hour Mourn started to quieten down. He yawned, he felt a bit sleepy.
"r... robot?" He looked around for Ethan.

Ethan waved his book to get Mourn's attention, and got up. "Right here. How are you feeling?"

Mourn didn't get up, he stared at Ethan, looking a bit unsure. "Sleepy." He declared, yawning.

"Makes sense." Ethan looked around, there was a couch with some pillows, so the room wasn't entirely inhospitable. "Goes you could nap in here."

A couple of rooms down Amari was waking up in a groggy manner, sniffing the air. First there was new people, second there was a sweet desirable smell that was almost calling his name.

Mourn clambered over to some cushions. "You get answer to question?" He asked groggily.

"Yes I did. I can cross 'seeing a felid get stoned' off my bucket list," Ethan snickered. "Get some rest, I'll probably check on you later to make sure you're alive."

As they talked Amari gathered the crutches and followed the smell to Ethan..

Mourn made a face. He still wasn't totally sure he liked the vulnerability of being drugged. "I just sleep, no in danger silly robot."

"It's my fault if anything happens to you," Ethan said, "I don't want to deal with the consequences of that." He headed for the door, pushing it open. "Rest up, and I will be checking you later."

Ethan would see Amari about halfway down the hallway, the arran would note the smell was coming from him

"Bye bye robot, I no die." Mourn assured ethan, snickering and curling up into a ball.

Ethan let the door close behind him, and looked up at Amari with a frown. They'd seen each other around before, Ethan had delivered books to Marcus sometimes after all, so he knew that Amari could tell him apart from Asher at the very least. Still, they didn't talk much. "Hey Amari," he said cautiously.

Amari cock his head, "Y-you have a sweet smell." He said, the arran could smell the catnip.

Ethan frowned at that. The kid wasn't hitting on him, right? Minotaurs did that supposedly. But Ethan smelled like plastic and metal, which didn't smell that great to anyone. "Oh, you mean the catnip?" He asked after a moment of confusion.

"Sweet plant?" He asked, yes Amari was meaning that.

"It's a plant, I don't know if it smells sweet," Ethan said, pulling the little plastic bag out of his pocket to look at it suspiciously. "What do you care? You're a hemovore."
