Upon Vestia: Chapter Twenty-Eight

"Cause Esk is lazy and he wants someone to wait on Dawn, even though he has a massive crush on her and could wait on her himself," James grumbled. "At least that's what I assume was his motivation," he amended. "Your brother is weird. So Dawn's probably okay and not infected, that's good at least."

"Sweet plant?" He asked, yes Amari was meaning that.

"It's a plant, I don't know if it smells sweet," Ethan said, pulling the little plastic bag out of his pocket to look at it suspiciously. "What do you care? You're a hemovore."

"Smells good." Amari said with a shrug. A idea tempting him badly but same time he was scared of Asher rate, though Amari couldn't help it just smelled so good. (Poor amari gonna struggle with stealing that lol)

Ethan shrugged. "I don't have a sense of smell, I'll have to take your word for it." He eyed the bag.

(Guilt all around! whoo)

"Can I see it?" He asked shyly, clearly wanting to look in the bag a bit.

Ethan looked hesitant. He didn't know how the kid would react to this stuff, and he suspected Asher wouldn't want them to find out. "I don't think so," he said awkwardly. Telling big, predatory creatures with barbed tails no seemed a bit risky, but so did angering his duplicate.

He pouted, "Wh-Why not?" Hm, plan B may happen after all.

"For one thing, I don't think Asher would like me giving you strange substances without knowing how you react to them," Ethan said. He started moving to pocket the bag again...

*flick* Amari tongue flung out and snagged the bag out of ethan hand. Oops, he honestly didn't mean to but his body sorta did it before his brain could react. He held the bag carefully in his mouth with a sheepish look.

Ethan jumped at the sudden motion, instinctively assuming this was an attack and he was about to be hurt, and stumbled back a couple paces. His mind caught up and he realized Amari had taken the bag. "Hey! That's not yours!"

Probably not a good idea to shout at the traumatized recently freed slave kid, but Ethan didn't realize that in the heat of the moment.

Amari jumped, biting into the bag defensively slight mouthful of tasty catnip fillng his mouth. He paused, removing the bag carefully while tasting the leaves.

"Give it back," Ethan said, trying to sound authoritative. He was nervous though, he couldn't help thinking that Amari could probably claw him up pretty badly if he freaked out, and of course Ethan would be in even worse trouble if he hurt Amari in a fight. Not good, not good.
He noticed the bag had been punctured. Oh crap, now Amari had gotten an actual taste of the leaves, who knew what effect they might have.

His pupils dilated like a drugged cat and he just stsrted to purr loudly. The brag dropped as he fell to all three suddenly rubbing against Ethan leg like a oversize cat. Looks like catnip effected Arrans foo.

Ethan froze, mind starting to blank on what he should be doing right now. His aversion to physical contact and the stress of the moment were making it hard to think, so instinct just took over, telling him hold still, to wait for this person to get bored and leave him alone.

Vestia was watching, she was always watching after all. This didn't look good. "Amari, can you come over here?" She asked coaxingly, hoping he'd follow her voice away from the android.

Amari ear flicked towards the sound of her voicec "Hm?" He asked slurred, his gait was of a drunken sailor as he struggled to not trip on his gangly limbs. He managed a few steps towards her voice before having to sit down. "Dizzy."

Hytar continued his tour with Ellie and Shane. (think we missed a post?)

Mourn, oblivious to what was going on outside, snuggled up to sleep.

"Yeah, I guess you must feel pretty funny right now," Vestia said. At least he was moving away from Ethan now, that was a good first step. "Come a little closer, and then you can lie down for a bit, okay?"

Ethan was just standing where Amari had left him, hands shaking. At least the arran wasn't touching him any more.

Amari did as told, sorta. He managed a few steps before face planting the wall. "W-wall stop moving." He mumbled

Ellie led the group to the cafeteria. "Yeah! Sketchy. There was a sketchy anamcara guy named Third, I'm glad he's gone now. But the point is, if you moved in here, it wouldn't be unprecedented!"

"Very good. Now you can take a nice nap," Vestia said soothingly. She started researching whether catnip was dangerous to arran.

Hytar chuckled. "I'm not ssssure your friendssss would approve." He pointed out.

Ellie shrugged. "Yeah, I know, I don't want sketchy people here either, but you should still know where the cafeteria is." She waved her hands expansively. "It's really nice! They have all the best cereals, with the little marshmallows!" She paused, "Do you like marshmallows?"

Amari coiled up right there, passing out.

Pretty much catnip was like cannabis and achohol combined for Arran. Which translated that Amari was drunked, extremely drunk and high.

"Marsssshmallowssss?" Hytar looked bemused. "Not particularly no..." He didn't have an overly sweet tooth.
He took stock of the place, again making a mental map of everything.

Vestia also checked to see how high a dose was dangerous for arran, because if he was overdosed, that would be very bad.

Ethan went to lean against the wall, still trying to recover his composure.

"Ethan?" Vestia said. "You okay?"

Ethan looked up at her camera, focusing on it. "...Yes. I'm okay."

"Can you dispose of the catnip for me?" Vestia asked. "Then you can get out of here."

Ethan nodded after a moment, and went to pick up the bag off the floor. "Okay."

"Thanks," Vestia said.

Ethan went to dispose of the bag.

"You're missing out, man," Ellie said sagely. "Oh well, more for me. Come on, let's keep exploring!"

"You are a very enthusssiassstic young woman aren't you?" Hytar observed, following Ellie.

Luckily for Vestia he would have to eat many pounds worth to over dose. For now amari laid there sprawled out.

"I'm not that young," Ellie said, "But I am very enthusiastic." She was still too tired to bound along, but she wanted to.

Ethan disposed of the catnip down a garbage chute, and headed down the hall. He saw Shane and Hytar and Ellie.
The heck? Was that Esk's father, Hytar?

"Crap, it's the mean librarian!" Ellie said.

Amari was too big for Vestia to move, so she sent a bot to put a blanket on him to keep warm.
