Hytar's Ship

Vicky was busy setting up her quarters, after some negotiations and the like she had join Hytar group for a while. Busily she set up her gaming system, though knew since the new upgrade she wouldn't be playing all night. While many races found sleep annoying she found it delightful being able to do it now.

"Ressscue?" Hytar was nosy, he liked knowing things. "We can delay our courssse, that sssshouldn't be a problem."

"They are overly charitable and sentimental, they enjoy collecting rescues," Tala said. "It is a silly hobby, but we all have things we do for satisfaction." She nodded. "We can delay our course several days. We shall be lacking in fresh food for the hatchlings if we dilly-dally too long though."

"There isss a sssspace ssstation not far from here, we can ssstop for ssssuppliessss." Hytar pointed out. The Terran empire was pretty damn well stocked for space stations and rest stops.
"it will involve a diversssion but that isssn't a problem given the circumssstances."

"We could always send a small ship or two, leaving the big ships out here." The comms dragon suggested

Tala nodded. Right, sometimes she forgot just how populated Terran space was. "That is a satisfactory plan," she agreed. "I have no doubt such a place would have meat for the hatchlings, and it would keep us from reaching Terra too soon."
She looked to the dragon, "That is true. I think it is best to not divide our numbers however."

"I'll get the pilotsss to dissscusss the new courssse then." Hytar agreed. "Anything elssse?"

"Excellent," Tala said. "That is all, I am pleased this has been decided."

"Very well." Hytar replied. "If there'sss nothing elssse, I have work to do." He disconnected.

Tala looked pleased. She did like Hytar and his pragmatism, he always struck her as being the sort of person who didn't put up with idiocy. She snorted cheerfully, then went to tell her star dragon crew. "We are detouring to a space station before our arrival on Terra," she said. "We shall be acquiring much meat for the young."

The dragons nodded, they were pleased to get more meat for the little ones.
Shane was glad but concerned too, though he knew Tala wouldn't intentionally put them in danger.

Tala tilted her head, noticing Shane's concern. "Do you have worries to speak?"

"Nothing that can be helped, we do need supplies" Shane said, shaking his head a little.

"The risk is always great, but the greatest danger is if we stay in one place," Tala said. "To stop only briefly and travel with stealth is safest, and with so many star dragons on board, we are well defended in the event of an attack. We are always in danger, but it seems this is the less of two dangers." Even if the dragons were still recovering, they could probably collaborate to defend the ship pretty well. Tala was quite sure of that.

Shane nodded at that "I know, and they will, there's enough well and strong to defend us if necessary."

Tala smiled, showing off her lower teeth at Shane, and slapped him unusually lightly on the shoulder. "You are a fine second in command, it is well that you are here. I shall ensure that you and the other adults receive most enjoyable foods at the space station, such stops are not only to feed the young!" She knew how boring ration bars were, and she was totally going to splurge on fresh vegetables for herself.

Shane smiled at her, working with Tala was interesting at least. "Right, we can see what's available out here in this part of space."

"I do hope they have proper farms at this station, it is unsatisfactory to buy frozen foods," Tala mused.

Shane chuckled and nodded. "That's true, I hope so too."

"How are the young ones?" Tala asked. She felt rather like a benevolent, slightly terrifying and warlike aunt to the hatchlings, she liked to keep track of how they were doing.

"They are well." Shane said with a smile "You wanna peek in on them?" He knew she liked seeing them

"If they are resting, I had best leave them to their slumber," Tala mused. "Are they wakeful?"

Shane tilted his head then chuckled and shook his head "Nope, they are up and playing right now."

"Excellent. I should be gladdened to visit them then," Tala proclaimed. Even grizzled minotaur warriors weren't immune to the cuteness of baby star dragons.

Shane chuckled and headed to the room the hatched babies had been moved to so they wouldn't disturb the other eggs or the parents with them. He opened the door and walked in to see the babies running around and jumping on and over their parents and all over. A few chirped and came over to Shane and Tala to play with them too

Tala went in and crouched down to look at the hatchlings. "Greetings, young ones. It is well to see that you are full of vigor and causing your parents much excitement," she said, wiggling her ears. She sent them a general emotion of today being a most excellent day.

They chirped and circled her and Shane until Shane shifted to play with them too.

"They like you captain" One of the females said, coming closer to Tala. "Did you want to play with them?"

Tala smiled in that peculiar bovid way of hers. She could feel the emotions radiating off the little dragons, and just like pretty much everybody else who had heard a baby dragon's thoughts, she liked them. "What do they like to play?" she asked the mother dragon.
