Hytar's Ship

Vicky was busy setting up her quarters, after some negotiations and the like she had join Hytar group for a while. Busily she set up her gaming system, though knew since the new upgrade she wouldn't be playing all night. While many races found sleep annoying she found it delightful being able to do it now.

Tala's ears wiggled more. "Ah. Many names in Common are most unsatisfactory," she agreed.

"Agreed, at last it seems human main language.., En-gelish is the most popular for the other races to do diplimatic meetings so it has become the offical 'common' though mainstream uses alot of alien slang depending on the galactic location and dialect." Oops, Nikita thought after spilling that. That was more info then a causally traveler would know.

Tala shrugged. "Language varies. It is a fact of life." She'd never heard of this English, she supposed it must be a fancy name for Common or something. "Why do you care of diplomatic meetings?" She said, flicking her ears.

"Oh uh I knew someone that did work in that feild." She said rather quickly, oh that was a half truth and she knew it.

Tala thought Nikita sounded kind of evasive. "Are you all right?" she asked cheerfully. "You seem tense."

"Yeah, completely fine. So you want a salad?" Nikita asked to change subject.

Tala's ears wiggled. She thought Nikita had a secret, and the woman's evasiveness was amused her. She kind of liked watching people squirm a bit. "I always desire a fine salad," she said, letting Nikita change the subject.

That was way to close, Nikita decided to find a place to buy them a meal (to the other thread?)

Tala hesitated, she wasn't sure she should leave her crew alone for long here, even if they were very magical and well protected. "We shall purchase our meal to go," she decided.

Tala looked around at Hytar's two ships, and the others nearby. "Fear not friends, we have returned in safety!" she declared.

Nikita softly chuckled, amused by the other Captian as she found a seat by the ships to eat her meal.

Tala set to work eating her food. This was a Very Important task for her.

A pair of cops came over, heading for Hytar's ship. They looked serious. One was carrying a bag that jingled a little as he walked.

Nikita looked up at the cops, arching a brow as she enjoyed her meal. Huh, the ex slaves must of found the cops here.

While Lope and Eleven got drunk, and the majority of the rest of the crew enjoyed their shore leave, the only people left on Hytar's actual ship were Hytar, his Valet and a couple of security personal.

The cops went to the airlock door of Hytar's ship. If they saw any of Hytar's security personnel, they'd ask to board and talk to the captain.

Tala watched the cops curiously. "I hope you are not wanted on Terra," she remarked to Nikita. She spoke kind of loudly, her volume control really was crap.

One of the cops looked over at the two, but he didn't come over.

"Not that I know of." Nikita said, though was nervous as the cops looked at her, maybe they didn't keep up about the Shardian Embassy.

The security called for the valet who came out to speak to the cops.

"What's the problem?" He demanded, staring up at the cops incredulously.

Tala's ears twitched. "Good. You seem most jumpy though, it is suspicious."

"We're here to speak to your captain about the slaves he freed. We have some concerns we wish to address on their behalf," one cop said to the valet.

Nikita chuckled, "Probably the fresh air." Whew the cop wasn't walking over.

"The fresh air is most bracing," Tala agreed. She ate a kale leaf. "It is not as fine as the air on the plains of my homeland, but it is well enough."

"My home was by the sea." She softly smiled, remembering her childhood briefly. "The rest of my teen years were raised in the city, then on a ship vis military."

"What was the ocean like?" Tala asked curiously. She'd wallowed in the water on the beach planet, it had been warm and wonderful. She knew some places were cold though.

"Warm." Nikita smiled, "it was a tropical location, me and my older brothers would play in the sea, collecting shells."

"The boss is busy, what are the concerns?" Ariston asked. Damn slaves, always so much more trouble than they were worth.

"Shells are pretty, but with your unhooved feet, they must be painful," Tala remarked.

"The freed slaves expressed concern that they were going to be subjected to debt slavery by your captain or crew. As the Terran Empire is taking care of their affairs until they are fit to properly enter society, we need to ensure your captain will not attempt to take advantage of these people at some future date," the cop said flatly.

Nikita snickered, "Not as bad as it could be, what was worse Shards don't exactly float due to be three times as dense as terrans." She smiled.

Ariston blinked. "Take... advantage?" He snorted. "wait here, i'll get the boss." He looked amused as he wandered back to find Hytar and tell him idiot terrans were here because the slaves told them shit.

Hytar sighed, put down his work and told Ariston to let them in. He'd greet them in the main room.
