Hytar's Ship

Vicky was busy setting up her quarters, after some negotiations and the like she had join Hytar group for a while. Busily she set up her gaming system, though knew since the new upgrade she wouldn't be playing all night. While many races found sleep annoying she found it delightful being able to do it now.

The boy cried out and clutched his head, whimpering.

"now now, wassss that really neccisary?" Hytar sighed.

The bird took flight and fluttered over to the banister where it glared daggers at vicky.

"bad... bad... " The boy started muttering to himself. He didn't seem to use his left arm much, he kept it held to his chest as he shook his head repeatedly.

"Asss I sssaid, completely insssane." Hytar continued cooly. "Sssilence, tend to your brother." He guided Vicky away from the pair and toward a hallway. "You'll find rather an unfortunate number of the people here are ssssomewhat damaged. They have their usssesss though, ssso they sssstay. Usssually I wouldn't tolerate sssuch a lunatic under my roof, but he hasss information locked somewhere in that deranged little head of hissss I want." he explained calmly. "Do try not to provoke them, he'ssss not much of a threat, but hissss ssssissster may take it into her head to protect him and i'd ssssooner not have to clean blood out the carpetsss."

"I don't take well with people roaming in my head." She responded and nodded, "Alright, I'll keep that in mind as I interact with them."

Hytar nodded. "My cleaning sssstaff I am ssssure will thank you." He smiled and headed down the hall, stopping eventually in the maze of corridors to annouce "thisssss issss your room." He seemed to intuitively know every single inch of this place, but it wasn't easy to navigate. All the corridors branched off from one another and looked very much the same. All the doors looked the same except for a small marking on the frames of each denoting some sort of numeral.

Vicky would note all these details for future references. She adjusted her over night bag as she opened the door with curiousity...

The room was a good size double room with an antique looking four poster bed and a lot of furniture that looked like it had to be a good few centuries old if not genuinely from the 1800s. The floor was carpeted, the room was warm and a window overlooked part of the gardens.

"I'll leave you to get sssettled in. If you need anything." he indicated a button on the wall near the bed. "One of the butlerssss will attend. " He smirked a little. "or you can jusssst ussse the internal comsss to get Mr Brightssstar to come running." Oh he'd noticed how much Lope kept making sure Vicky was alright, it amused him.

Vicky perosnally found carpets annoying but said nothing as she put her bag on the bed. Every so slightly she flushed st the comment about Lope and rolled her eyes in defense, "Hey he offered to help, so I agreed to it." (Lol Hytar is not that stupid)

Hytar shrugged. "the intercom is on the bedssside table." He motioned to the buttons and speaker inlaid into the tabletop. "I have work to do." He nodded curtly and left her to explore on her own.
He figured she could find her own way around, if she needed a tour guide someone else could do the full tour.

She sighed as he shut the door. After exploring her room she went to find where the damn kitchen was...nad possible Lope room for, future reference. Yes future reference sounds perfectly reasonable reason to do so.

She might have to ask someone where Lope's room was, the doors had no clear indicators on them aside from that small number.
The kitchen however, wasn't hard to find.
It was downstairs, and bustling with activity. Hytar wasn't kidding when he said he had a lot of staff, this place was a fully functioning manor house complete with full scullery and kitchen staff.

The staff were all various species, from those who looked mostly terran to insectoid to reptilian, there was even a small dog-like creature curled up in front of the fire snoozing.

She would probably try private messaging him later as the smell pf food enticed her. Carefully she entered and looked to see if she could get one of their attentions, at the moment she was game for anything food wise.

Whatever was cooking did smell good.
One of the cooks looked up, tilting his head as Vicky came in. He was a large lizard-man.
"Looking for something to eat?" He asked in heavily accented common. "Dinner won't be ready for a few hours yet, try the larder." He indicated vuagely toward a large cupboard where food was stored.

She nodded her thanks, " will dinner have shellfish in it?" She went to the cubbard to raid it in all honesty.

"not tonight. Do you have an aversion?" the lizard man asked. "I can make a note of dietary requirements."

it was a well stocked cupboard filled with a rather broad assortment of things from dried meats and caviar to snack and junk foods. Just about anything was catered for in there.

"Yes, I'm allergic to shellfish of all types." She explained, snagging some chocolate and and prezels. "Thank you."

The cook made a note somewhere and nodded. "We'll try to avoid cross contamination then." He smiled a wierd toothy lizard smile. "dinner is at 7."

"Alright, I can eat fish though." She made sure that was clear, she enjoyed her terran tuna to much. She bid her good byes and headed out of there pulling out her com to pester Lope.

Lope answered his com pretty quickly, his cheerful voice crackling over the speaker. "Hey hey, Who's that?"

"Vicky," she smirked, " Where are you? I just raided the kitchen for prezels and chocolates."

"HEy Vicky!" His voice brightened. "Uh, in my room, I just had a shower. I can throw something on and come join you if you want. you know where the lounge is?"

"Uh, possibly. I am busy making a mental lay out of this place so I may need directions." She admitted sheepishly while heading toward the direction she thinks was right.

"uh, if you're coming from the kitchens head up and uh.. right..." He gave her directions while he got dressed.

She listened and managed to not get lost. As long as her mental markers didn't move she'll be fine. She found a couch to park at as she put her goodies on the coffee table.

A few minutes later Lope showed up, his hair still damp, grinning his usual lopsided grin.
"You said there were pretzels?"

She held up the bag, "Yup, plus chocolate." Vicky grinned, "Both go great together." She made sure there was room on the couch for him, "So you got carpet in your room too?"

Lope looked confused. "uh.. yes?" What a wierd question. "Why? What's wrong with the carpet?" He sat down beside her.

"Sorry, I just highly dislike that type of flooring." Vicky sheepishly laughed. "That why my house was all tile and wood, no dust or bugs to deal with." She opened the bag abd offered him first dib, "I will admit this is much different then my old crew."

Lope laughed. "there's no dust, believe me. the cleaners are crazy methodical. They even dust the damn cornices around the ceiling!" He reached into the bag for a handful of pretzels. "thanks. Different how?" He thought back, aside from Hytar's son they'd seemed relatively normal people. Did that mean this lot were all weird? probably.
