Upon Vestia: Chapter Four

As they made it back to Vestia Heny would of dozed off in her chair, semi curled up. Vestia greeted them but seem slightly annoyed about something.

Asher looked at Kay curiously for a moment, then nodded and looked at the shopping list, as if his memory wasn't photographic. "How in the world does such a small group of passengers go through medical supplies so fast? My old space station had a thousand people on board, and they barely used more than this."

[One word, Heny] Kay smiled broadly [She really did a number on our sedatives.]

"She does have a talent for attracting trouble," the android said, shaking his head. "Speaking of which, I should pick up some condoms for her and Merith, since the ship didn't have any in stock last time." He was still blissfully unaware of Heny's pregnancy.

Kay bit his tongue, no, wasn't going to tell him, wasn't his news to tell. [I'm certain the others will find a use for them as well. Actually it might encourage them, hmm. ]

"Would it be unprofessional to make bets on who hooks up first?" Asher asked.

Kay smirked. [I don't think it goes against our job description does it?]

"Well it's not officially against the rules," Asher said, collecting first aid supplies from a shelf. "Ellie and Shane, or Ellie and Matt?"

Kay considered that one. [Given what I know of my brother, all three together isn't out of the question. Still, I think she's too much like him. He tends to fall for the sullen sorts who'll more than likely smack your head in with a table. I think he LIKES getting beaten up. ]
Kay stocked up on sedatives, because they seemed to go through them like candy.

"I think Matt will hook up with her first, because he's less reserved than Shane and might get drunk enough to do it by accident," Asher said sagely.

[THAT I agree with. Impulse control has never been his strong point. ] And that was just what they needed, some sort of crazy love triangle causing drama on board.

"Little One!

Immediately, six or seven foxes came back and swarmed the bubble around the kit. As they dispersed, the bubble and the kit had vanished.

Vanessa began to dissipate in front of them, transforming into a green gaseous creature that quickly fled the area towards Merith outside.

To the Keeper, the universe itself seemed to stop functioning properly. He felt something inside him began to build up, and the energy around him turned thick, choking and negative, the fury inside him began to stir. The shift alone caused Nightshade, safely aboard Vestia, to suddenly change in attitude, backing away from Starr and the others and cowering in the corner, her eyes widening in terror as she began to sense the raw power build up.

Merith was outside, thinking to himself. How had this happened? How... Who did this? This had happened here... Whoever did it had to be here, right? Their own friends and family here as well. They needed to pay for what they had done to him. They... They... These... These...

Mortals...

The rage continued to build, a ghastly aura beginning to envelop him...

"I'm kind of surprised Sulon hasn't tried hooking up with Matt yet," Asher said. "She's," he coughed, "quite enthusiastic."

Heny eyes widden and she sent a simple message to vestia to go, to go away quickly and not return unless she was called back. Sulon would silently slip back onto the ship acting like she only left to get something from her room. The members would feel the ship rapidly head to leave the planet torn but knew that heny wouldnt give that order without a reason.

"Merith." Heny begged, "Merith please calm down!" Tears shed down her face as she grabbed his numbs hands. Merith dont do this... Please dont do this!"

[Poor guy. I'd almost feel sorry for him, almost. ] Kay looked amused.

Matt looked suddenly very concerned, there was tension building in the air, he could feel the hairs on the back of his neck standing on end.
He reached out to grab Ellie.

"Vestia what's going on???!" He yelled as the engines started.

Where the hell was his brother and the other medic? Where was that little girl's father?
Why were they taking off?

"Heny given me orders to leave, my scans are showing a dangerous spike of power." She said.

"Where IS Heny? Where's my brother?" Matt was starting to panic a little bit now. "What do you mean a dangerous spike in power? And what happened here!??"

"Heny is with Merith on the planet... And from their location is the spike of power. Everyone else is on board." She informed.

Vanessa would appear next to Kay and Asher, her form sharing that same ghastly aura that Merith did. She stared at them, her eyes flashing with recognition but not with the same sort of familiarity. "You probably want to get back to Vestia, and quickly." She then floated off again...

... Right to Merith. The Anamcara suddenly melded with him, becoming one with the Keeper as he looked down at Heny, a blank look on his face, yet his eyes were ablaze in rage.

Asher frowned. "Why?" he uselessly asked as she vanished. He looked at Kay, "I suppose we'd better go, then."

... Right to Merith. The Anamcara suddenly melded with him, becoming one with the Keeper as he looked down at Heny, a blank look on his face, yet his eyes were ablaze in rage.

"Merith, we dont know who did it...dont do something you'll regret." She started to try to combat his build up with her own power truthfully shaking in fear as she knew if she didnt at least negate the power build up..

Kay looked at Asher, then back at Vanessa. He wanted to ask, but she was gone too fast. THAT worried him most of all.

He dropped everything, grabbed Asher's hand and ran.

It didn't take long to reach Vestia, and hear the sound of her engines firing up. "What's happening?" Asher asked as they boarded.

Medical room, that's where Kay ALWAYS was. He glanced back at the others, and ran... and ran into Asher and Kay just getting aboard.

"Kaylr!" He pulled Kay into a bear hug. "Don't DO that to me! The engines started and we didn't know where you were and... and the kid... oh gods... "

Kay pulled away from his brother, frowning and looking questioningly.

Heny wasn't just out-matched, she was absolutely dominated by the building anguish and rage that continued to grow. He merely shook his head and held his hand out. With a crackling noise from bright lightning that erupted from his hands, there was a low whistling sound that sounded like a booming agonized cry. The weapon grew and grew in size until it towered over him, the insanely large battle axe had two distinct holes in its blade, and when the wind whistled through them, it sounded like a long, mournful howl.

Nightshade continued to cower in the hallway, her hackles raised. "S-So much..."

Heny felt her heart pound in fear as Corvus in his magically habit appear beside her in a manner to sheild her from any of his rage fill chaos. "Merith!" She said once more, her voice trembling. "These people done nothing to you! Dont break your vow please!" She choked, part of wanting to run but a stronger part gave her the will to stay.

Heny, his rage is engulfing him...Unless he release it he wont escape, just like you Her guardian reminded her, his wings developing a black misty shield around her body.

Starr looked up at the spike in power and the engines starting. She closed her eyes, reverting to her natural form to draw on her powers more as she made a shield to cover Vestia from the high arcana.

Merith, please, Syren would not want this, you must calm yourself She thought, trying to send the message as Kay had been helping to teach her. We have to find the culprit, the foxes that were here She didn't know if it would work or not, but she had to try

Merith was no longer in a listening mood. Those who had dared to stay even after he released his weapon began to run, screaming in terror at the man's presence. He made an unearthly growl...
