Upon Vestia: Chapter TWENTY

Heny stood there and listened as the two spoke, her heart beat rising. She had visited him a couple of times but found it too painful with eveything going on.

Danika walked over to Asher and yawned, exciting as this was, it was late for them.

Kerr and Vela had stopped, grinning at the praise as well as they could. They liked the attention from the adults.

Dawn smiled and held her as long as she would like before pulling back to sit up again.

Asher picked up Danika and petted her back gently. "You kids ready for bed?" he asked, before reaching down to pet Vela and Kerr a bit too. It was getting late for little dragons. Sometimes Asher forgot just how easily young organics got tired.

Vela and Kerr pressed their heads against his hand as he pet them, coming to climb into his hand beside Danika. "Sleepy time" Kerr chirped happily.

"All right, let's get going then." Asher got the sling for them to climb into. "Good night, guys," he said to the adults and Moone, "It was good to see all of you. Have fun with the party and don't stay up too late." He was teasing about the last part.

Moone waved then looked over to the chicks. They really should get them to their nest so they could sleep comfortably, shouldn't they?She went over to gently scoop up the babies, cooing softly to them "Come on little ones, time for bed" She smiled at Skye as the other hawk came to help her.

They twitched and murmured. It would be a few more months before they'll have the energy to stay up at parties like this.

Skye and Moone took the babies to the bedroom, laying them in the nest of pillows they slept in

Asher took the baby dragons to Starr's room, and would do whatever they needed to get them ready for bed. He'd stay with them all night (or at least until whenever Starr returned), because they were too young to sleep without an adult nearby, in his opinion. Besides, Danika wanted a parent and he was the only one who was free at the moment.

Kerr and Vela simply curled up on the pillow bed happily, though Danika wanted to stay on Asher and sleep against him, lostening to his version of a heartbeat. It wasn't the same as Kay's or Starr's, but it was enough for now.

Asher plugged himself in and switched to power saving mode. He'd wake up if any unusual noises or movements occurred, but otherwise he'd snooze through the night.

James looked around at the now much smaller gathering, and smiled. "Man, it's quiet now," he said.

Dawn looked over to James then to Rigel and Luka "Yeah, it is" She agreed then looked to the lights of the fireworks again.

James watched the fireworks, faltering a bit at the sight of the huge, dark sky, but staying moderately calm. "So uh, now what do we do?" he asked.

Luka stared up at the sky. "I don't know.. maybe just talk.."

James nodded. "Sounds good." He wasn't sure what to talk about though, hmm. "What are you guys planning to do once the danger is over and we can do whatever we want?" he asked. It might never happen, but daydreams were fun to imagine sometimes. "Obviously I have lots of ambitions, but I don't know about you guys."

Luka mused, still looking at the stars. "I'd like to see my family again..." Even if it wasn't exactly practical. "or at the very least let my father know i'm alive."

Miss Heny wrote:Heny paused, before putting her food down and heading to the opening of the ramp keeping a distance between her and the peacekeeper. "D-did this kelishan have red hair? Stood around six feet?" The keeper asked, her throat suddenly feeling dry, "Did, he wear a traditional betrothal necklace...with keeper insignia?" Flood of memories filled Heny mind as she said the last part. No way could this be him, the Family more or less attempted to beat him to a pulp when they captured her... Yet still a glimmer of hope was in her heart, and then the shadow of doubt.

The Peacekeeper paused, before nodding. "He did." Was all he said. He almost sounded annoyed, really. How many friends with benefits did this girl have in her lifetime?!

"...." She paused, taking a deep breath. " Vestia... Can you have Asher watch the twins?" Heny looked at the peace keeper, "Can, I see him." She clench her fist, wondering what cruel game the galaxy was playing.

"Yeah, that's a good plan," James smiled softly. "We'll have so many family reunions when this is over."

"Are you sure you should be going anywhere alone?" Vestia asked Heny worriedly.

Luka nodded. "I wish you guys could see my home..." She mused sadly. "I guess there's always the holodeck."

"If the guild wanted to put me on trial they would of done it the same time they started Merith's." She commented in a some what bitter tone, "I should be back in a few hours."

"I'm not worried about that." What really worried Vestia was Heny's partially erased memory, but she didn't know how to safely mention that. She sighed. "All right, I'll get Asher on babysitting duty."

(Where are Heny's babies?)

(Her room lol) "thank you Vestia." She nodded and started to walk towards the Peacekeeper.

The Peacekeeper scrunched up his nose, and turned to lead her towards the direction of where the newcomers filled out their personal information...

"Your acting skills are subpar." She remarked sourly, "Pity, you would look lovely if you didn't hold this look of hatred in your eyes." She said following he/she to the location.

Vestia apologetically notified Asher that he was needed to babysit Heny's twins.

Asher pulled himself out of power saving mode. Oh boy, spending time with Heny's babies. His experience with them was limited, and a bit tainted with Heny's screams, yay. He looked to the baby dragons, hmm, was it better to wake them and bring them along, or to let them sleep? He finally decided to let them sleep, they were the equivalent of five years old after all, and Vestia could tell him if they woke up.

He might have to bring Danika along though, she was feeling pretty anxious today, hmm.

Miss Heny wrote:The twins would be thankfully sleeping when Asher got there.

Asher carried Danika with him, trying to not wake her as he walked. He quietly asked Vestia to tell him if Vela and Kerr woke, and to reassure them that he would be back as soon as possible.

He peered in at the Keeper babies, relieved they were asleep. Humanoid babies were something he had very little experience with, and although he knew MegaBrainTech had given him programming to look after humanoid babies, he wasn't overly keen to test it out.
