Upon Vestia: Chapter Nineteen

(Day 11 I think)

James blinked. "What do you mean?" He asked. Oh crap, had Acus guessed he was free?

He gave him the look and rolled his eyes, "Ever since we got here you been acting off program, and on top of that failing to act like the three laws controlled you." He said standing up and stretching a little, checking the vent with trying to use his foot to rattle it.

James' eyes widened and he looked at Acus nervously. "I thought you didn't notice." He winced at what he'd just said. "Pretend I didn't say that. I'm still bound by the Laws, totally. Your loyal robot to the end, right?"

"James, I'm not blind nor am I as stupid as I act... Most of the time anyway." Acus sighed and cross his arms, "Actually I am more hurt you didn't tell me. You probably assume I would freak and try to force you to be reset right?" He looked at him directly in the eyes.

James winced again, unable to maintain eye contact for more than a few moments. "You were in such a bad state after what happened to Avia, I didn't know how you'd react to finding out I was free. And later after you were doing better, it was easier to keep lying than to try to figure out how to tell you."
He looked guilty. "I didn't know whether you'd get angry and make me be reset, or whether you'd kick me off the Silver Devil, or whether you'd just be hurt that I'd want to be free. I didn't want any of that, I just wanted to be free for my own peace of mind."

He sighed, "If I was like that then I would of been crewless years ago James. Everyone has a right, plus I did agree to Tala to free you fifteen years from when I bought you." Acus remarked, " The main reason I even caved to get a android was because it would be near impossible to chase you off as a medic like the last dozen that tried to stay part of the crew."

James laughed weakly. "You got me because I couldn't go running off when you started being offensive? Makes sense." He sighed, "Look, it's been crazy chaotic lately, and who knows what's going to happen next, but I don't think I'm going to leave the Silver Devil. Vestia's crew and my brother are great, but I kinda think I want to stay with you guys once you leave Vestia."

"Actually the last three it was Silv that chased them off." He said defensively, but cracked a soft smile, "I won't complain too much if you decide to stay."

(^.- I think acus hit his head or something... He acting niceish and sorta...flirty to James >.>)

"Man, all the horror stories I hear about Silv," James tried to joke, "She sounds terrifying." He smiled a bit, "Oh good, you're not gonna kick me out for lying to you? That's a relief."

(D'aww, Acus is secretly a sweetie *Fluffs Acus' hair feathers*)

Acus laughed, "She wasn't that bad, just... Moody at times." He sighed and smirked, "Doesn't mean I won't get back at you for it."

James laughed. "You must have gotten along great... or hated each others' guts." He looked suspicious, "How worried should I be?"

(*Eyes James* I think he might be aromantic. Then again, I did say that about Asher too at first, and he's a sappy romantic idiot at heart, lol)

Acus deviously grinned, "oh, you'll see. So whatcha want?" He went to pick up the tools.

"Maybe I should move to Vestia to escape your wrath, I'm not sure I'm ready for your meanness," James joked. "There's a sort of party going on in the cafe. I wanted to see if maybe you wanted to go, it's supposed to have fewer werewolves than the one tonight, so that's a plus."

Matt shrugged. "alright, but if she starts looking angry, i'm teleporting the hell outta there." He snickered.

Acus grinned and shrugged, "So like a, uh, date then...?" He remarked, the Avian never knew when James wasnt flirting. To him the andriod was doing it all the time and unfortunately there was no off switch.

Thaila rolled her eyes, "Chicken, leaving your poor defenseless mate to the wolves." She teased while sticking her tongue.

James wiggled his eyebrows. "Do you want it to be, Captain?" Yeah, he was still in the habit of flirting with Acus. Not because he wanted to hop in bed with the guy or anything, but just because.

Matt's expression faltered for a moment, poor choice of words there. He shook his head and forced a smile. "I could drag you with me." He suggested. "but that might make her angrier."

(Sorry slept on couch all day)

"Nice to see your program hasn't change too much." Even though he said that nonchalantly, it appeared almost Acus was slightly boushing.

Thaila weakily smiled, "Bad joke, I know." She then grinned at the thought, "Last time you did that we 'disappeared' for a few hours."

(It's cool, we all have to rest sometimes!)

James laughed. "They only took my metaphorical leash off. I'm still the same guy with the same charming personality, just minus the mandatory obedience." He watched Acus' expression, the guy seemed a bit off today, that was odd. Then again, it was probably normal. After all, James had gone behind Acus' back and freed himself. Who wouldn't be a bit thrown off by that?
"So, wanna go to this party, man?"

Matt laughed. "Yeah well... " He shook his head. "Where do you think Heny IS anyway?"
There would be time for the whole family reunion thing later, wasn't like Web was going anywhere. Poor guy.

He sighed and shrugged, "Sure, I repaired what I could but we really need better mech." Acus remarked, the captain refused to even remotely think about replacing the ship.

"Probably her room. She even requested food to be sent there since we landed here." Thaila sighed shaking her head, "I think she has visit Merith a couple of times though at least."

James grinned. "That's why we keep this ship in Vestia's cargo bay. You can have your ship, but we won't die when it fails because we couldn't afford the repairs." He held out his arm to Acus, "Come on, let's go visit with our friends from Vestia!"

"Hey, this ship has been through hell and back." Acus said defensively, "she lasted a decade she'll last many more!" He eyed James arm before taking it, silently plotting payback.

James snickered. "Well she's elderly now and is spending her retirement in peace and comfort. That's good, right?" He lead Acus off in the direction of the cafe.

Acus rolled his eyes and fluffed his hair. "She wil be our ship when we leave thank you. Though we'll have to see who'll want to stick around or come with."
