Upon Vestia: Chapter Nineteen

(Day 11 I think)

Asher didn't really want to leave Kay right now, but after a moment he turned and headed out the door. He had a few things to take care of, and the sooner he got them done, the sooner he could go back. Once he was out in the hall, he looked to one of Vestia's cameras. "Vestia, can you warn everyone that if they're planning to go to the festival, they should know that there are going to be lycanthropes there? Also recommend to anyone with children that the children should stay here on the ship for their safety."

"Sure thing," Vestia said. She'd relay the message to pretty much everyone.

"Thank you," Asher said, smiling gratefully. "Oh, and could you please get one of your bots to bring Kay some food?"

"Sure thing," Vestia said agreeably. "Anything else I can do for you?"

"Can you tell me where Luka and James are?"

Vestia told him.

"Remind me to do something nice for you," Asher told the ship.

Vestia chuckled. "Roger that."

Asher headed off to find Luka.

Luka was dozing on her bed, she'd exhausted herself crying and fallen into a light sleep with James sitting beside her. oops?

Asher knocked lightly on the door to Luka's room. "Hello?"

James looked up. Oh hey, one of his brothers was out there. Huh. He got up, trying to not wake up Luka, and went over to the door and cracked it open a bit to peer out.

Luka stirred and groggily looked up. "Did I fall asleep?" She asked blearily, rolling onto her back and rubbing her eyes. Eugh, embarrassing. "Who's there?"

"Asher's here," James said, correctly identifying the robot in the hall. "What's up, bro?"

"I just wanted to stop by to tell you guys that Esk's condition is stable and once he wakes up, he'll most likely be able to heal pretty well," Asher said. "Kay thought you guys should know."

James looked relieved. "Whew."

Luka looked relieved too, but she still frowned. "He's still not awake?" Damn, poor guy. Shit, did she just feel sorry for Esk? damnit.
She shook her head. "thanks Asher." She looked glum. "How's Kay holding up?" Had he punched a hole in a wall yet?

"He wasn't awake when Kay was there," Asher said, "We'll try to keep you notified when we learn about any changes." He sighed, "Kay's... all right. He's staying in his room for the rest of the day." He looked reassuringly at Luka, "He'll be in a cell tonight, too."

Luka nodded. "good." Her expression softened a bit, she felt kinda sorry for Kay. She wasn't sure if the locking up was his idea or Asher's, but at least it was sensible.
"thanks..." She added.

Asher smiled slightly. "No problem," he said. "By the way James, if there's a medical situation, you might be called in. Dawn is in the capitol looking after Esk, and obviously Kay is off duty. Otherwise, don't worry about it. You're not required to stay in the med bay."

James saluted. "Yes sir!"

Asher looked amused. "Thank you." He smiled at Luka, "All right, I have some other things to do now. You two take care."

Moone landed on the ramp, looking around then walking in "Vestia, where is Luka at?" She asked curiously

Luka waved halfheartedly to Asher and sat down on the bed again, pulling her knees up and resting her head on them. So Dawn was taking care of Esk? that was kinda... sweet. Sad though, she had rotten taste in guys and he probably wouldn't appreciate it. The jerk.
She still felt guilty.

She smiled weakly to James. "You can go do... whatever. I think i'm just gonna feel sorry for myself all night." She sighed.

"Luka's in her room," Vestia said. She'd give Moone directions if needed.

Asher left James and Luka to go look for Starr.

James smiled softly at Luka. "Okay, I'll leave you to uhh... feel sorry for yourself then. I'll come back later and bother you though." He picked up his med kit.

Luka nodded. "bring snacks and i'll probably forgive you." She tried to joke but it fell somewhat flat. She sighed. "I'll see you later James."

"Potato chips, or cookies?" James asked, also halfheartedly joking.

"Surprise me?" Luka shrugged and grabbed a well read book off her shelf.

James nodded. "Surprise it is." He smiled at Luka a bit, "See ya later Luka." He headed out, leaving Luka alone.

Moone smiled and headed for Luka's room to knock on the door.

Asher went to go find Starr and Danika.

Ellie was most likely still with Starr and the baby dragons. She just loved them and their cuteness!

Starr was still in the playroom with the babies, since the festival wasn't until later.

Asher peered into the playroom and smiled at the sight of his favorite dragons, and his favorite weird Terran. "Hello," he said warmly, "Kay thought I should stop by and see how you were doing.

Ellie waved vaguely.

Asher went over to Starr, looking to Danika in concern. He was worried about the kid, she shouldn't have had to see Kay get so angry, especially not when she wasn't even a week old yet. Was she okay? He hoped she was okay.

Starr looked to Asher and smiled at him, more when Danika noticed and ran over to Asher "Hello Asher. We are fine."

Kerr and Vella chirped and said hello back, but they were having fun with Ellie, so stayed with her.

Asher nodded gratefully to Starr, then his smile broadened as Danika hurried over. She looked pretty okay to him, not like she'd been traumatized by her father's rage. Maybe she was good at hiding it, it wasn't like he could tell that well. Or maybe she was fine! That would be better. "Hey Danika," he said, holding out his hand for her to climb on/sniff/whatever, "How's your morning going?"

"James, seriously?" Luka called at the knock, assuming the android had forgotten something. She got up to open the door. "oh.. you're not James." She blinked, she was NOT expecting Moone, at all.

Danika climbed onto his hand and snuggled Asher "Dad mad?" She wanted to know if Kay was ok now.

Moone smiled at Luka and shook her head "Nope, not James." She said then shrugged "I made something to help cheer you up. It was Third's idea, anyway, here you go." She said then handed over the silver sword charm. "We do like you here and had to go and search for what you might like, culture-wise, cause we really don't know that much about your people, I hope you like it."

Vestia would send a bot to Kay's room with a tray of food. It tapped on the door a couple of times and waited, not nervous about Kay's temper because it wasn't sentient. Vestia herself was a bit worried about it being punted though.

"Sort of," Asher said, petting Danika reassuringly. "He has a sickness makes him get mad during the full moon, but he'll get better." He added, "He might be really tired tomorrow, but he'll be all better soon."

Danika sighed and nodded, glad he wasn't still too mad. "Bad wolf-people make dad mad"

Asher smiled softly. "I don't think they're bad, they're just... very different. Kay sees things one way, they see things another. They have the same sickness he does so the full moon makes them angry too."
