Upon Vestia: Chapter Thirteen

"Probably," Asher said. "That's the consolation prize."

Shane moved closer to Ellie to try to help her get back from this weird thing.

Moone held the chicks close, flapping her wings against the pull of the wind

"Hmm." He waved one hand gently, and Starr would find an incredible amount of pressure trying to force her against the floor. "Well, I suppose that is true. Very well. I will allow the children to remain here. I suggest you decide who stays to care for them, and quickly. Only two may stay behind, as I know very well mortals have problems caring for so many children on their own."

The rip only began to tear more, and Starr's magic was nuleld by the overpowering force of the Creator. "You defy me? Hah! I control ultimate cosmic power! Far more than you ever could, Star Dragon!"

To Skye, Vestia said, "Um, everyone just got teleported to one of my observatories, and a big rift in space just opened. In case you were wondering."

Starr growled and fought against his power. "I would protect my friends for as long as I can." She growled out then motioned to Moone and Sonata "Moone and Sonota usually take care of the kids with everyone's help."

Skye frowned and started for the observation decks. "Which one?" She asked, running down the hallway

He chuckled, "Does everybody agree to those two choices? Moone and Sonata? You should know, dimensional rifts aren't like true magic, so that girl that somehow wasn't affected by the teleportation will be sent off with you as well."

Asher looked around worriedly. "We should have Heny stay because she's pregnant," he said, "And Sonata," he added, nodding to Starr. "Moone is a child, she has to stay."

Tala glared.

"Asher should stay," James said. He would feel really bad if his brother suffered for his idiocy.

Vestia would give Skye directions.

"Sonata, you've got the best relationship with the kids... you.. you keep them safe okay?" Matt called. "And you can't drag Heny into this!"

Armin fought against the wind to try to grab Moone who was clearly struggling. "Why are you doing this? What will you do to us?" He asked desperately.

Mourn hissed and fired at the creator.

"Ultimate cosmic power." Esk snorted. "Go fuck yourself mate. Look at you, having a hissy fit, to prove what? A point to an ANDROID? You're pathetic." Hey what'd he have to lose. He stepped forward from the wall. "What are you gonna do if we refuse to play your game? kill us? Go ahead."

"ESK SHUT UP!" Matt yelled.

"Why should I? This asshole comes on board this ship, the janitor says something he doesn't like and he has a temper tantrum and threatens everyone? That's not a rational response, that's the response of a raging lunatic with some serious inadequacy issues. What's the matter? The mean robot refuse to lick your boots? "

Kay shook his head at Esk. Now wasn't the time for bravado.

"I will not grovel to false gods." Esk spoke flatly. "I don't care how much power he has, he's just a child having a tantrum."

Kay flinched, seriously worried about his little brother right now.

"Dimentional rifts require proximity, and yeah, Moone is still a kid." Starr agreed and looked around, "Heny, Sonata, Asher and the kids, even though the rest of us did nothing wrong either."

Kay nodded, looking at Asher desperately, then up at the creator. [Let Asher stay, he knows how to keep the ship running and they'll need a medic.]

"I proclaimed only two can stay." He suddenly grinned at Esk's bravado. "Oh? Maybe YOU won't... But I wonder what your... Mirror, is like? What do you think, Creator?"

The woman stopped struggling for a second and stared at him, her eyes widening in horror.

"Mirror..." Vanessa muttered, thinking for a moment, before she looked just as shocked, yet seemed almost... excited, "Y-You don't mean-?!"

He just laughed, and the rift expanded. More rifts appeared around the room.

Moone was greatful for Armins help and hid against his legs, making sure to keep the chicks close to her.

Shane held Ellie then turned to glare at the young creator "what is your problem man? "

"What difference would it make to let one additional adult stay?" Starr asked, challenging him

"Mirror?" Ellie frowned. "What are you talking about?" She glared at Todd.

"Because I said so, Sweetheart." He rested his chin on his hand, looking at Starr with a smug smile, "And... the insects fled, so there's your third adult. Now, are we all ready?"

"You really need the grovelling don't you? You get off on it? You're pathetic." Esk told the creator flatly, ignoring the rifts as they appeared.

Kay shook his head. [Don't do this.] He grabbed onto Asher's hand as if afraid they'd never see one another again once those rifts consumed them.

Matt growled. "Get the kids out of the room, NOW." He didn't trust this guy to keep his word.

Armin cringed and tried to help Moone with the babies so she could get OUT of here, before things got bad. He kept muttering a prayer to the Weaver under his breath.

Mourn gave up on shooting, it didn't seem to do anything and just growled and hissed, tail twitching.

"Swarm is part kids too." Starr countered with narrowedd eyes at the young creator

James looked at Asher fearfully. Oh no, nononono. "I'm sorry," he said miserably to his brother.

Asher gripped Kay's hand firmly and hoped he wasn't about to lose everyone he cared about.

"It's gonna be okay.. " Matt told everyone, backing away from the rifts which kept popping up. "We'll get through this, I promise."

"Or we're all about to die horribly." Esk shrugged.

"Shut up Esk!" Matt snapped.

"make me."

Kay tried to look reassuring to both Androids, trying to mask his own fear.

Sonata, Heny and the kids were chosen to stay. And the man laughed as the rifts widened and their feet began to slip through the cracks. "Welcome to the Mirrorverse." Were the last words they would hear, before they slipped through the dimensions...

Skye slowed as she neared the observation deack, flinching at the yelling from inside.

Moone found herself suddenly alone with the chicks in her arms. "Skye?" She looked around unhappily and noticed Heny and Sonota and the kids. Armin was gone now.

With everyone gone except Sonata, Heny, the children, and Swarm, Vestia felt extremely alone. "Guys," Vestia told all of them through whichever speakers were nearest, "The others have all been taken, possibly to another universe." Her voice was shaking a bit, she realized; she tried to steady it. "We'll need to try and figure out if we can get them back. But until then, we'll need to all look out for each other. You're all unhurt?"

Moone looked to the speaker then at the children in her arms "We are alright" She said after checking them over "Though the chicks are scared." She was scared too

"I recommend everyone go to the galley and have hot chocolate," Vestia said. "You guys need something to calm you down after all this, and it'll be good for you all to see each other. You'll feel less alone."

Moone nodded a little stiffly and headed for the galley with the three chicks in tow.

Swarm had scattered, listening to Vestia as they slowly grouped back together to see if they'd all made it. James, Mourn... all their friends. Gone?
No no no.
They headed toward the Galley where the others were supposedly meeting.
