Upon Vestia: Chapter Thirteen

"Probably," Asher said. "That's the consolation prize."

Moone nodded a little stiffly and headed for the galley with the three chicks in tow.

Swarm had scattered, listening to Vestia as they slowly grouped back together to see if they'd all made it. James, Mourn... all their friends. Gone?
No no no.
They headed toward the Galley where the others were supposedly meeting.

The Creator floated there, chuckling as he released the woman. She gasped as she fell to the floor. "What have you done?! Are you insane?! They could be killed!"

"Relax," he said calmly, "A group of misfits that have been surviving for this long with so many people on their tails? I'm sure they'll be fine. Pissed off and terrified, but over all fine."

Sonata glared up at him as the children crowded around her for comfort, crying. "What did you do, Creator?"

Heny was in shock. She almost stumbled backwards, clutching her stomach weakly as her eyes stared, frozen in place at where Merith used to be.

"Bring them back, bring them back!" Swarm demanded in their countless voices, they sounded panicked.

Moone looked to the young creator then the elder one and back. "Are you going to keep us safe if we are attacked yet again?" She asked, both sad and angry "Bring them back before they get hurt, this is not a game. You do not understand what we have all been through already. How can you?"

"As Game Master, it's my duty to make sure I keep my part." He said leisurely. "I will make sure this ship is defended well until they get back... If they get back. It's up to them, really." He suddenly grinned maliciously, forming a cup of tea out of nothing and nonchalantly sipping at it as he floated with crossed legs.

"you have made your point! Bring them back!" Swarm demanded. They descended into a cacophony of voices, all yelling some variation on the theme of save them, spare them, have mercy.

Moone started crying, wrapping herself in a ball around the babies with her wings. "They don't deserve this, you are mean."

"How can they get back? They can't tear holes in the universe!" Vestia asked Todd, outraged.

"Can you see them? Do you know if they are alright? Will you bring them back if their lives are in danger? " Swarm buzzed around the room in agitation.

"Oh, I can't see them anymore. It's all up to them now. Although, I'd think they aren't exactly having the best of times at the moment." He chuckled.

"how will they get back?" Swarm asked. "Are they trapped? Can you bring them back? How will you know?"

"I don't know." He said casually. "Until they can find a realm jumper to help them, they are trapped where I sent them. It could take them hours, or days... or years." His grin twisted up evilly.

Swarm drew away, horrified.
"and YOU? You can do nothing to help?" They called to the other creator, half of them sounded angry, the other half terrified.

She looked away sadly. "I am able to bend space, but I cannot contact them. They are no longer within this dimension. He is right. Only someone from that side can send them back..." Her face twisted into guilt. "I am sorry... I have caused this..."

Swarm pooled together closely, huddling for comfort as they buzzed and hummed to themselves. Their friends, their crew, would they be able to get back? Would they survive wherever they'd been sent?

"you are both bad gods." a small number of weak voices spoke, before countless more shushed them.

"You noticed?" The male grinned, while the female flinched, looking away in silence.

Listening to them talk only made Moone cry more. She didn't want to hear that there was no way for her sister or her friends to come back from wherever this maniac had sent them.

"There... might be someone we can talk to." The Creator Woman said after several minutes of silence. "She... might be able to help... But I don't think our comrades would like it."

"Because they soooo like everything about this," Vestia said sarcastically.

The woman winced, "Merith told me of an... old friend of his who happens to have the ability of being a realm jumper. Perhaps you might know what I am talking about?"

Heny suddenly narrowed her eyes, "No. We are NOT bringing Inari into this!"

"And yet... Her abilities can give us the greatest chance of getting your friends back."

Swarm looked up. "Inari... the leash?!" The muttered to themselves. "Getting friends back more important, but what cost? Supposed to save lost souls, not like this though." The bickered with themselves.

"It is your decision." The woman said quietly, then glaring at the other Creator, who seemed rather nonchalant about the whole thing.

"Must get friends back!" Swarm decided. "Our crew, we must save our crew!"

"Very well." She said, then looked around. "Vestia, would you mind if I used an empty, open area on your ship to contact Inari? I will be... doing a few things to make preparations."

"Go ahead," Vestia said. "One of my bots will lead you there."

"Thank you." Was all she said as she followed the bot. "You may come if you wish," she called back to them, "But please remain quiet."

The male Creator just shrugged and returned to daintily drinking tea.
