Upon Vestia: Chapter Ten

Matt pulled him into a tight hug. "it's okay..." He sounded more like he was trying to reassure himself.

Kay looked amused. ---How about a straw?--- he suggested. This was pretty ridiculous.

"Eh, probably the perfect pairing in that respect though right? Not like robot's have sex drives." He shrugged and tucked in the sheets. "I'm just relieved they're not avoiding each other any more. Kay deserves a bit of happiness. I think everyone here could do with something good to cling to. " He laughed. "that totally came out wrong."

"That might work," Asher agreed, forcing himself to not laugh. He went to get a cup of water and find a straw. He remembered that they did have some for some reason, Vestia must have stocked up on straws for the cruise passengers, because he sure hadn't bought them.

"Yeah, it definitely makes things simpler," Vestia agreed. "And man, you have no idea how good it is to not have them angsting about each other so much. I mean Asher's still worrying about Kay, but at least it's in a professional medical way now, and not in an, 'Oh no, I screwed up again' way."
"Speaking of which, how are you doing? You've been working really hard lately."

Matt shook his head. "Yeah, i'm glad he's okay. I keep telling him to stop getting himself hurt or sick but he keeps bloody doing it. Eugh." He waved a hand and smiled softly up at Vestia's camera. "I'm fine Vestia. Thalia's determined to bury me in pointless wedding crap as i'm sure you noticed" Because nothing got past this ship "but i'm fine." Well, that was a lie but he wasn't about to divulge all his personal problems on a ship, it wasn't her problem and honestly it felt a bit weird.

Kay would awkwardly sip water through a straw then, while Asher held the glass.

---At some point i'll have to stop being so useless and needing you to look after me--- he tapped. Honestly he was pretty tired of ending up in situations where he needed help like this, it was humiliating. His pride really couldn't deal with yet more bedrest damnit.

"Well he is trying to keep himself out of trouble, he just has terrible luck," Vestia said. "And it's impressive how much stuff Thalia is thinking to plan. I always figured movie weddings were exaggerated, I guess they aren't."

"Well at least we shouldn't have to deal with this problem again," Asher said with a reassuring smile. "I know it's tough, having to let someone look after you, but it's okay. Everyone needs help sometimes."

"I dunno. I've never actually BEEN to a wedding. My sister didn't invite any of us to hers. " Matt shrugged. "I mean i'd be happy with just a small party but he wants to go overboard. I dunno whether to hide or just pretend like I have any say." He chuckled. "All I care about is marrying the idiot."

Kay didn't look reassured. ---did Starr get all the information she needed then?---

"That's tough," Vestia said with a laugh. "I'll keep the swimming pools cool for you, so you can hide in them when you need a break."

"I think she did. She was pretty tired though, and I haven't talked to her much since." Asher knew he should probably have talked to Starr, but he was a bit distracted lately.

Kay nodded, wincing a little. Despite the painkillers and his mental barriers being up, he still had a headache.

He frowned, trying to decide if he was strong enough to shift again yet.

Matt laughed. "Thanks." Hey, Thalia's hydrophobia totally came in useful sometimes.
He finished tidying things away and made sure nothing was damaged too badly by the water. He actually chuckled at the books Kay had. His brother had terrible taste in books.

"There's no rush," Asher said. He guessed what Kay was thinking, "If you're considering shifting, I advise against it for now. Your body's still recovering, and you'll just set yourself back a bit more."

---how long do you think i'll be stuck like this then?--- he looked annoyed, more with himself and the situation than anything else.

Actually luckily for Matt thaila was too busy trying to not bash his head out to torment his lover about wedding stuff...

The creator looked at Kay curiously, but said nothing.

"I recommend waiting until any residual pain is gone. But since that may be weeks and you'll be furious by then, how about two more days before you shift?" Asher suggested.

---How long can you cope with being the only medic on board?--- Kay countered.

He nodded faintly to the creator.

The creator softly smiled, "I could help." She offered, "As long as my wings are slinged I can walk, the burns are nearly healed on my feet."

"I'm an android. I can keep this up forever," Asher said serenely. It was a lie, but he told it fairly convincingly. "You guys just work on recovering your health, and I'll be fine."

Kay didn't look like he believed that. After all, it involved dealing with Heny and he KNEW how difficult she was.

"And I will be driven insane being trap here all day." The creator musedZ

---could we not find her a room?--- Kay asked. he didn't really know who the heck the woman was but she was clearly badly hurt. ---What happened while I was out?--- Because obviously something had happened.

"I can understand morse..." She shyly coughed.

Asher sighed and looked at the Creator. "Then you have my permission to go play video games in the rec room. You can't be running about looking after people on injured feet, but you don't have to stay in here, I suppose." He kept his manner perfectly calm. He couldn't show any sign of weakness to these guys, or they'd pounce on him.
He answered Kay. "Avia was destroyed, and the Creator escaped here with some hatchlings. It's been a bit chaotic, the past few days."

---destroyed?--- Kay looked alarmed.

He nodded apologetically to the creator.

---Get her a wheelchair so she isn't on her feet, then she can move around freely.---

"I can help even in a wheelchair." She said nodding her thanks towards Kay, it was obvious she saw through Asher mask but didnt say a word.

Asher hesitated. He didn't want a patient to be working, mentally he was pretty mentally exhausted. He nodded after a moment. "You can help, if you stay in the wheechair," he said, struggling to keep the weariness out of his voice.

She smiled, "Lovely! Where do you need me first?"

Kay looked to Asher sympathetically. He felt really guilty that he was so useless right now, which only made him more determined to get back up and doing stuff asap.

---I'm going to go eat.--- He told Asher, shooting him a look that really suggested he wasn't going to listen to any protests from the android right now. He got to his feet, ruffled his wings and looked back to Asher, his expression softening, well, as much as it could in that demonic face. ---Take it easy for a bit.---

"What do you know about pregnancy, colds, and broken bones?" Asher asked the Creator. "You're still connected to the feed line," Asher told Kay grumpily.

She blinked, "a bit...why?"

Kay couldn't really disconnect the thing with his hands, he held out that hand to Asher while tapping with the other ---I'm fine.--- that was a flat out lie, he felt pretty awful but he was also ravenously hungry. ---I can take care of myself, I may be sick but i'm still a medic. You focus on treating people who can't treat themselves.---
