Upon Silver Devil: Chapter One

You would notice the smaller ship among the giants, docked to the space port it was in search of new crew members after the last few... left suddenly.

"Not roosters, I hope," Tala said dryly. "Are we permitted onto the bridge, or is that an earned privilege on this ship?"

He chuckled, then decided to mess with the cow and let out a hearty crow, "the only rooster here is this one. Anyway unless you know how to defuse every trap placed there i highly dont recommend it."

"It's your ship. You don't need to phrase your rules as threats," she said, huffing with amusement at his rooster joke.

The Swarm scattered, a black cloud of softly buzzing insects selected a room and settled on random surfaces.

Luka visibly shuddered, she was starting to question her choice of ship.
But she selected a room.
"I would very much like to see the controls, if that's appropriate sir."

"Eh its more due to a prank war going on with the ship." He nodded to luka, "Jusf a sec.." He went to grab something from his room to be doused in ice cold water.

"ahh, now that I do understand." She smiled, yep, pranks, definitely something the fleet did when their superior officers weren't around. Ahem.

Dawn watched silently from the hallway, curious about these people and the ship. She had often found it better to watch quietly, it usually garnered more inforation

He shook and ruffled his feather hair like hackles, "Yea." He said dryly, getting some books. "Alright shorty come along."

"Who you callin' short?" Luka bristled a little but followed.

"Mind if we look around the ship while you show her the bridge?" the minotaur asked.

"It will be good to get to know the lay of the land so to speak" Dawn added

"Go ahead." He told tala and ignored Luka reaction as he showed her the pilot section, "here some books to read up on the systems."

Tala nodded in thanks and looked to Dawn and the Swarm. "Will you be joining me?"

Luka stared at the equipment with clear delight in her eyes. "Well she's an old girl, but she looks well equiped... aren't you?" She murmured to the ship, gently running a hand over the consoles. "Yes sir, i'll read up immediately." She took the books.

"Explore?" The voices came up from all around as the swarm reassembled themselves into humanoid form.

"Yes" Dawn answered both questions and smiled at them "Let's explore."

"By the smell of food our mechanic is making dinner i believe so if you have questions ask her."

The minotaur smiled--well, she forced her face into a smile-like expression--at the others, and lead the way away from the bridge. "You've worked on small ships before?" she asked them.

"I have" Dawn said then shrugged "The ship I was on before was so small I was cook and engineer on it"

The swarm buzzed happily and drifted after the others.
"Oh yes, we have been on many ships. some A few. hard to remember We have navigated for multiple varied entities, for a long time."

Luka nodded, having found a seat and already pouring through the book.

"I've taken jobs on ships like this before," said Tala, "Although I started as Haakon marine. It must have been difficult to be both cook and engineer," she added, looking into a room that turned out to be the kitchen.

The room will be filled with the smell of food as the one female that vanished earlier was busy cooking.

"Had to really schedual time with that combo, but it was a small ship so there wasn't too much to do for either one." Dawn replied with a smile and a shrug as she looked to the kitchen also "This ship is bigger."

"Certainly it would make you harder to evict from your job," the minotaur said, sniffing the air and flicking her ears in greeting to the cook.

"So you guys are newbies then?" She asked with a cluck.

"We were once on a ship with a giant cockroach chef... he made terrible food apparently. " The Swarm stared at the chef and smiled.

"I am Dawn" She replied, going into the room a little "Smells good in here."

"I'm Tala. Yes, we are new additions to the ship's crew." The bovine sniffed the air, wondering if the meal was vegetarian, or if she would need to improvise.
