Upon Vestia: Chapter TWENTY

Heny stood there and listened as the two spoke, her heart beat rising. She had visited him a couple of times but found it too painful with eveything going on.

Asher smiled affectionately at Danika. "Are you nice and steady up there?" he asked her, getting all the hatchlings settled comfortably. Well, comfortably for them. Obviously he didn't care much about himself since he had no sense of touch.

(I did fwo boys one girl right? XD)

The last one let out a soft shrill as it scampered to moone, duty following her like she was mama hen. The other two yawned, trying to see where they were going they settled down...for now.

Moone chuckled softly and set off to lead the way out and to the elevator.

Skye looked to Asher to be sure he was alright before following Moone out

"I hold" Danika said, resting her tail around the back of his neck and holding his shirt so she wouldn't fall while the other two settled in the carrier
(Yeah, I think so)

(yep two boys, one girl. Silly creator, inefficient numbers lol. You always want more girls to boys for repopulation <_< hehehe)

Esk looked up at the announcement and snickered. "Another party to miss."

Kay ignored Esk. The night had come and aside from a little pressure headache and a bit of discomfort that may very well have been psychosomatic, nothing had happened. Still, he was paranoid.
He was huddled against the back wall of the cell with his legs curled up and watching a movie. It beat trying to actually talk to his brother.

Esk yawned. "Fuck this is boring."

You could leave. Kay glared.

"and miss out on your amazing company?" Esk countered with a sneer.

(Oh my)

Asher followed the others. "Good, good. It's really very nice that you can hold on so well," he told Danika as they headed for the ballroom.

James waved when he saw the group arriving. "Baby bro! Skye! Moone! Children of assorted species!" He looked pleased.

"You're wearing a suit," Asher said, looking a bit startled even though he should have realized James was going to wear one.

"Yeah, isn't it great? Makes me look so fiiiine," James said.

Asher smiled, amused. "Yes it does. You look great."

James waved to the others, "Come in, join the... party? Dance thing? Whatever this is."

(Lmao, oops. Hey anyone gonna bring out a lazer dot? >w>)

The babies either followed and stayed in their handlers' arms. They were curious though and attempted to stray a few tims if possible.

Since there wasn't much up here, the hawk girls would let the three wander around as they wished, greeting James when they arrived.

Danika giggled, but would stay with Asher. She liked being with her dads, even if it was just one of them.

Kerr and Vela on the other hand glided out of the bag, landing to look around like the chicks.

Oh the three went all over the place, see what whas there and trying to see what was climbable.

Luka eventually showed up and she'd definintely made an effort. While she didn't own any makeup and frankly didn't have any clue where to start on that stuff, she HAD fitted a silvery sparkly clip into her hair which she'd tucked the longer strands of behind her ears. Her dress was one of the dresses she'd gotten back on Defiant, a strappy, knee length green gown of spider silk with embroidered sprays of sequins on the skirt.
She also wore her new shoes, a pair of strappy black flats quite different to her usual combat boots.

Her dress showed off her tattoos proudly, and she still wore that little silver sword around her neck. She wasn't taking that off now, it was too special.

She smiled coyly, looking a bit uncertain as she reached the door to the ballroom. She hadn't expected so many people and felt a bit self conscious.

The chicks were attracted to Luka due to the shiney objects on her dress. They softly chirped as they were memerized by the sparkles.

"You don't want to go play with them?" Asher asked Danika gently, "It's okay, you know, your wing is mostly better now."

James looked, if anything, even happier when he saw Luka. He went over to her, smiling. "You look great," he told her, "That dress is awesome. You're even hypnotizing the kids." He looked amused.

"You look wonderful Luka" Dawn said happily as she came down the hallway. She was wearing heels, albeit short ones with the blue, form fitting dress she had picked out from Defiant as well. She was glad to have a chance to wear it, even if only for the crew's benefit.

Rigel was walking with Dawn in his black suit with a white shirt underneath, the only one he owned on the ship. He smiled at the pilot, glad she was taking this chance to dress 'girly'

Skye and Moone kept their eyes on the babies, watching as they all explored the room then gravitated towards Luka and her shinnies.

Danika shook her head and looked to Asher "No want you to leave again."

Luka looked a bit wary at the babies and smiled shyly at the compliments. "t.. thank you." She wasn't used to this sort of attention. "you look beautiful Dawn." She told her sincerely. She smiled softly and averted her gaze awkwardly as Rigel smiled at her.
"i'm.. not really used to wearing skirts." She admitted.

"Yeah, I can imagine wearing skirts takes some getting used to," James said, "They do look nice though. Oh man, you look good too Dawn. And Rigel," James fanned himself for effect.

Asher watched from a distance as the Silver Devil folk greeted each other. Aww, they were adorable together, they seemed like good friends. "Okay, you can stay right here on my shoulder then," he told Danika. "That's fine with me."

The chicks eyes would follow Luka movement as they seem attached to the shiney objects. At least they didn't try to eat said objects.

"w.. why are they staring at me like that?" Luka asked, she found the chick's beady little bird eyes kinda creepy.

"Probably the shiny stuff you are wearing" Moone said, coming over to gather the chicks

Kerr and Vela watched the greetings then wandered off again to find a chair to climb up then jump off of.

Dawn smiled and walked in the ballroom to look and see who all was there.

Rigel laughed and shook his head again before coming in to do turn around "Really, James?" He teased then looked to Luka again "Yeah, from what I have heard the only way to get used to them is to wear them. "

They all shrilled in protest at being taking away from the shiney objects.

Skye went over to rummage in the bag, bringing out the rattlers, shiny since they liked that stuff. She shook them to get the chicks attention "Come on little ones, let Luka be"

Luka twisted side to side to make her skirt swish, just because she could. "they aren't very practical to fight in." She remarked. Or to go up all those dang ladders in the Devil. erp.

She was somewhat relieved to have the creepy little bird babies taken away. Adult Avians weren't nearly that creepy, okay they were a bit creepy but there was something about them as babies that just was so much... squick.

They suddenly turned at the sound of their favorite toys and ran over to Skye doing grabby hands.

James nodded. "You're a fine looking gentleman, Rigel," he said. He smiled at Luka, "Man, my clothes don't sparkle and swish, I'm kinda jealous now."

Asher kept an eye on the dragons as they played. He didn't want them to get hurt on his watch if he could help it, and they were only a week old after all.

Skye chuckled and handed out the toys, sitting to play with them

Rigel dipped his head then looked to the others again. He didn't mind joking with James since he and James both knew it wouldn't go anywhere past joking.

Even for just a week old, the dragons were getting good at jumping from short things to the ground, using their wings to slow their fall. They couldn't fly on their own yet, but they were learning to glide.
Danika however was far behind the other two, both from having the hurt wing and not practicing like they did. Her wing didn't hurt anymore, but she didn't practice jumping and gliding enough.

Luka seemed to be getting a bit more comfortable now, especially with most everyone else dressed up. She reached up and slid the clip out of her hair. "hold still James." She told him, reaching out to slide it into his short hair. "Now you can sparkle like a princess too."

James held still so Luka could put the clip in, but protested, "But Luka, this clip was part of your outfit! Will your look be complete without it?" Not that he minded wearing it, but what if Luka neeeeded it?

Asher was honestly a bit concerned about Danika's lack of interest in flying. It was kind of to be expected, what with two of her parents being flightless, one of her parents being scared of heights, and her own wing having been hurt, but even so, she should probably be practicing more. He'd have to talk to Starr about tutoring her at some point, maybe they could work something out.
For now he petted her reassuringly and tried to not show any sign of concern.

The chicks would play with their toys before one girl tried to start hoarding the toys and run off with them. Just like a real live chicken chick when they best treats are handed out. This of course lead to the boys chasing after her.
