Upon Vestia: Chapter TWENTY

Heny stood there and listened as the two spoke, her heart beat rising. She had visited him a couple of times but found it too painful with eveything going on.

Rigel smiled at her again and took her hands to get them into position to dance "That sounds like a good idea" He said, half joking before he started tapping her hand with his finger to the beat again then starting to dance, leading her again.

James wasn't bad at slow dancing at all. He almost had an advantage in some ways, since his code was so well designed to prevent him from ever stepping one anyone's foot. He wasn't too terrible at leading either, apparently he had learned to do that at some point, who knew when.
"You know, I think I'm almost starting to get used to open spaces and seeing the sky," he said as they danced. "Normally the glass ceiling in this room would really bug me."

Skye glanced up, looking tot eh fireworks again then nodding and looking to James "I'm glad you are able to get past that fear...and you dance really well"

Luka tentatively rested her hand on Rigel's shoulder, holding his other hand and counting under her breath to his taps. She was slightly less terrible to a slower beat, but she still almost tripped over herself a couple of times. She smiled to Rigel, looking apologetic.

James smiled. "It's nice to not be scared of dumb things like floating away into the sky. Makes life so much easier." He nodded at the compliment, "Thank you."

Rigel smiled at her, making sure she didn't fall when she tripped. Thankfully she didn't do that too often and they were able to keep in rhythm to the song. He was enjoying the dancing

Skye chuckled and nodded "Yes, when you can face a fear and move past it it is quite liberating" She agreed.

James nodded in agreement, guiding Skye slowly as they danced. "It's also nice to not have to carry a parasol all the time outdoors."

"thank you." Luka told him, he'd been so patient with her. But that meant she lost count and she stumbled, quickly regaining her balance and blushing with embarrassment. Why was this so hard?!

Skye laughed at that and nodded "Yeah, carrying anything all the time can get annoying" She agreed, following his lead happily.

Rigel caught her again "Your welcome, dancing is hard to learn at first, but it does get easier over time."

"i.. hope so. Because i'm terrible" Luka laughed, starting to relax just ever so slightly.

"So annoying," James agreed. He looked over at Asher, "Hey man, you gotta have a dance too, get in here for the next song and I'll babysit the dragons!"

Asher looked hesitant. "I don't dance much, you know that."

James rolled his eyes. "Then it's time to dance more! Nobody's gonna judge you, man!"

"No one is going to judge anyone, this is just for fun" Rigel said, glancing back to Asher and James. Oh, they had moved some distance away while focused on eachother and the dancing. Rigel chuckled at that and looked to Luka again "It does, just takes practice and confidence."

Skye giggled again, looking over to Asher and the babies "They are cute little ones" She said of the babies trying to copy them still.

"you can't be any worse than me!" Luka told Asher, nodding earnestly, she looked back to Rigel, tightening her grip of his hand slightly and nodding. "Definitely.. lots of practice." She laughed awkwardly. Eugh.

"They're good kids," Asher told Skye, smiling softly. "Okay Danika, can you stay with the others for a bit? They want me to go dance with them." He tried to pick Danika up off his shoulder so he could set her down safely.

Rigel grinned and let her hold his hands tight for a moment.

Danika pouted, but let him set her on the table. Hey, it did look like fun to try dancing, even if none of them knew what they were doing. She joined her clutchmates to dance as a group

Dawn and Moone had settled in to watch from the sidelines, though Moone often looked over to the chicks to make sure they were alright.

"I'll be right back, okay?" Asher told the baby dragons. "Uncle James--your big brother James?--will look after you."

The song ended, and James smiled at Skye. "Thank you for the dance," he said gallantly, "Now I must go babysit my relatives."

The song ended and Luka let go of Rigel, smiling a little shyly at him. "thank you." She told him. She looked to Dawn and Moone. Dawn... she should talk to Dawn.

Danika chirped and looked to Asher then nodded and looked back to Kerr and Vela, trying to dance with them again.

Rigel smiled and moved back to give her a bow "It was my pleasure." He said, going to get a drink before the next song

Skye smiled again and chuckled then looked to Asher "Welcome to the dance floor" She said happily

James headed over to the dragons to watch over them. "Man, you guys have some good moves," he told them.

Asher smiled shyly at Skye. "Thank you. Do you mind dancing with me? I can't say I'm as good as James is."

Skye chuckled and held out a hand to him "Come dance and don't worry about that." She said happily

Luka smiled again at Rigel, waving vuagely and headed over to Dawn, slumping down in a seat beside her. "Hey..."

"Hey" Dawn said and smiled at her "You were getting good out there."

Asher took Skye's hand as a cheerful song started. "Okay, I'll try not to worry," he said.

Skye grinned at him again, dancing to the music with him happily.

"Rigel is really patient." Luka flushed a little and shook her head. "But no.. that's not.. Are you okay?"

Dawn looked to Luka then nodded and shrugged "Yes, as well as I can be."

Asher wasn't too bad a dancer either. His biggest problem was that he was obviously pretty self conscious about dancing and had trouble relaxing, but like James, at least he wouldn't step on Skye's feet.

James started sort of dancing in place while sitting next to the baby dragons. Hey, they were dancing, he could too.
