Upon Vestia: Chapter One

Docked into a large comerse station of the galactic alliance a smart ship put up a open passage sign on her docking port. Her helper would be off doing her own thing as she made sure supplies where there for the new guests to come, her earpiece on it would seem like as she walked the bustling station she was talking to herself as she tapped on a tablet in her hand.

The female looked human with elf like ears, short spikey purple hair and violet eyes with deep tan skin. She wore simple leather, with combat boots and a white undershirt beneath her vest she looked more like she belonged on a black market station then a respectable one they where on now. She kept a careful eye on her surroundings as if worried. On the board there flashed those most wanted and a female face would appear, looking different but with the same sorrow in her eyes of the one that was talking to herself there was a high bounty on her head for some odd reason.

Quickly they would escape if they could, their job done.

Wanderer heard gunshots from above. Something... He didnt know what, sparked anger in him. He expelled light from what would be his face, Storing the egg as smoke once more. The metal rod he clicked out, the artifact growing into a full staff with a bladed end, with greenish energy crackling from the end to the blade, and then back again.

Crazy yawned and came out of his new cardboard sleeping box. "So, how are they doing, Vestia?" Crazy asked, wondering if she'd had any comms on for Asher or 1812.

"Can't tell they went silent.." She said in a worried tone.

Crazy licked a paw. "You need weapons installed. This would be a simple matter if you just blew a hole in the side of their ship."

"Heny been rather busy to really do that lately." She sighed.

"Well, we'll have to solve that the next time we go to a planet that who's markets aren't so legal." Crazy found a comfortable position to stare at her cameras while he talked. "So based on what you know, what do you think their chances are of escaping?

"Mix, I can't really say because you honestly don't know what will change tides... And this place was listed as legal!"

"Exactly. You can't get anything done properly in these places. They're so picky..." Crazy yawned. "What'll happen if they don't get out? Got some network of smartships you can call on?"

"Not really." she sighed, "We arents exactly common here y'know."

"Hmm." Crazy got up, stretched, and walked over to his crates. "If they're not back within a few days, I'll see what I can do." With a slice of his lazerclaws, he unsealed a lid, showing it's contents as sheet metal, wallpaper, several cat towers, tubing, and some other odd furniture which could only have been thought up by cats, he sniffed around, making sure it was all in good shape.

Ellie looked around at Vestia's suddenly very friendly-seeming interior, and laughed. Not a happy laugh exactly, but the frantic laugh of someone who had just had a truly horrible day, and was suddenly faced by an innocent, bright, and untainted world that matched nothing that their mind expected.
Asher guided her to sickbay, and hearing the sickly rasp of her lungs, gave her asthma medicine and instructed her to rest. "Vestia, please tell me if her condition deteriorates," he said, returning to the main room to see how everyone else was doing.

"of course." She said, informing crazy they where back she would watch them each return.

Heny was silent the whole way back and would attempt to vanish back to her room without being seen as she looked at the wanted poster shakily she also eyed Jacob note but wouldn't read it just yet rubbing the ex-tattoo spot again.

Crazy, having been alerted, found Heny before she could disappear. "How are you?" He asked, concerned at her shaky silent look.

Hey jumped, she would have a face he would infact remember from their old days of traveling as she weakly smiled, "Ye-yea..." She lied again.

the truth was she wasn't, the whole crew was in danger because of her. On top of that now she broke that seal.... She mentally shook her head as she push that thought aside for now.

Crazy remembered it and had several memories go through his head. He gave her a look that made it obvious he didn't believe her answer in the least. "Things didn't go well... But at least you all made it."

"Yea...I guess.." She said softly, "I'll see you at dinner yes?" She asked, hoping he won't push the issue.

"Yes..... We've dealt with plenty in the past, and we can fix things again." Crazy was rather sad to see this change in her. "...Doesn't matter what it is." He moved to the side, offering her a chance to leave if she didn't want to talk.

She sighed, "Not everything can be fixed crazy..." She took the offer and left, not able to look at him as she made a bee line to her room.

He saw it was too early to push what was obviously a difficult matter now. He would have to talk her out of this odd idea later. In the meanwhile, he headed back to the main room to see how the rest of the crew were recovering.

Asher smiled at the sight of the cat. He hadn't spoken with Crazy often, but he was glad to see him unharmed. "Crazy, how are you doing? I take it the slavers decided to not try and catch you?"

"Nope. It's not like they could really enslave a cat anyway." Crazy looked him up and down. "You doing okay? How did the rescue go?"

Heny shut the door behind her, she look one more look at the paper before tossing it onto her bed as she slowly walked to her mirror. Flinching she removed her jacket and pulled her shoulder sleeve down to see where once the tattoo was.

She looked at the searing mark as if someone burned her skin, the blacken skin was in truth sickening to look at but she notice the black trendils that etch from it beneath her skin like it was poison or perhaps infected. Softly she gulped as she touched it flinching in obvious pain as she softly whimpered. "All power comes with a price.." She said softly and she was paying for it now.

Her face turn sour and and she lurched to the bathroom, staying about 5 minutes there as black gunk and goo revisted her for the third time that day. Shakily she rolled her neck, her face slightly pale she shoved the bad news aside as she focused on a new form, a new face to call her own...

Asher tried to imagine a cat being a good, obedient slave, and found it highly improbable and moderately funn. "I see your point. They probably saved themselves a lot of trouble by leaving you here." In reply to the cat's question, he shook his head, and laughed, "The rescue mission ended up being unnecessary. Still, nobody was hurt any more badly by the attempt, so it wasn't a failure."

"They did." Crazy nodded. "I'm glad it was successful....'Any more badly?' Are you talking about Heny?"

"Yes, and Ellie. And possibly Starr, although she seems to have recovered quickly." He shuddered, "I missed most of it, but they were willing to gas our friends to get what they wanted, even the fragile human. It was unpleasant."

"They wanted something?" Crazy looked mildly surprised. "They weren't simply looking for slaves then. Not many would forfeit such a high price."
