Upon Vestia: Chapter Eight

Starr held on when the airlocks were opened, keeping her position.  She waited to see who if any of the slavers would reach her first. Shane, doing the same in his position.

Skye and Moone nodded, moving closer to the vent to be ready to get the younger kids inside

Matt laughed. "It's terrifying right?" He shook his head as Thalia's presence receded, it was a very strange sensation. "It's okay." He took Thalia's hands in his own, keeping them under the water though, just in case.
"I remember the first time my brother's elemental manifested. It was somewhat similar, and he was screaming and freaking out because you know.. was on fire. And my immediate reaction was, I have to put it out. And then I accidentally froze him and he was pretty pissed off. And to add insult to injury, Kay then hurled a bucket of water over him." Matt chuckled at the memory. He squeezed Thalia's hands. "Thalia... you can do magic. I dunno how but you can. And this totally explains why you don't like water."

He listened, and couldnt help but chuckle at the story, "Thank god you didnt do that to me...that would be very akward to explain here." He said, listening the last part, "But...how? I haven't bedn able to so it since...my parents were killed." And that when things clicked, he lost his ability due to heavy trama, and now...it return bacause of trama.

Matt shrugged. "Yeah, I think i'm kinda used to weird shit at this point. I mean, you've seen what I can do, my brother manipulates fire, the other one shapeshifts. Our youngest brother kills things by touching them. " He pulled Thalia into a hug. "This is incredible man, and when you're feeling better we definitely need to work out exactly what you can do. Good thing we're on a ship with so many magic users right?"

He nodded, "Yea...and side note I thought my side of the family was fucked up." He couldnt help but laugh, what else could he do?

Matt laughed. "yeah.. we're a super fucked up family. Seriously, avoid the family reunions, it never ends well. "

"I think we can both avoid reunions on both sides to be honest." He smirked, rolling his neck with a wide yawn.

Matt smiled and snuggled into Thalia. "Yeah... probably for the best. You look exhausted."

"I'm not." He said in the classical keeper voice of stubborness that was sign he very much was.

Matt laughed. "Gods I missed you." He stood up and helped Thalia out of the water. "I can and will pick you up and carry you if you're gonna be difficult." He chuckled, it felt good to be able to be stupid again. To be able to laugh.

He playfully stuck his tongue out, "Maybe I should be." He snickered, trying to keep up the light heartness.

Matt snorted and found some towels, their clothes were filthy so he kinda kicked them toward the edge of the room. He'd sort them out later. "here." He gave a towel to Thalia and wrapped his own around his waist.

Thaila fumbled to make sure it on was tightly so it wouldnt slip off. "I got some of your clothing at my place actually."

"Well that's helpful." He took Thalia's hand. "I'll clear this mess up later. I doubt anyone's going to come in here or really care anyway. You however, need some actual SLEEP." So did he really, but he wasn't about to admit that.

"No I don't." he countered in admittedly playful tone, but happily held Matt hand. Secretly he did want to be carried, and was going to see if he could trick matt into doing it.

Mourn looked unsure. "Stomach hurts.. chest hurts. Hawk girl crying make hurt worse. Don't understand. She safe now, both safe. Everyone safe. No more hurt. So why still feel bad?"

Matt snickered. "I warned ya." And tried to pick him up. "Honestly i'm not sure I can carry you too far. It's not that you're heavy I just.. haven't really eaten in 2 weeks or slept and I think i'm about to pass out." He admitted. But hey, he was gonna try. "If I fall, i'm gonna try really hard not to drop you or fall ON you okay? And feel free to laugh at me, i'm sure it'll look ridiculous."

Thaila snickered, "my room isnt that far..maybe you need the sleep more." He grinned, teasing him and givng him a kiss on the check.

Matt shrugged and managed to shift Thalia's weight so he was carrying him bride style. "Yeah, but there's no way you can carry me so... what can ya do?" He smiled at the kiss and carefully made his way back to Thalia's room.

Kay didn't want to sleep, or be alone, or indeed have to think. So he went to find Heny and make sure she and the baby were okay. After everything, it felt very very important to check on those two.

Vestia thought that over for a bit. ---Mourn, I think you might be feeling guilt. Did you do anything that might make the hawk girls sad while you were locked up?---

Mourn thought about that. "Didn't hurt them." He frowned. "Couldn't save them... " The frown deepened. "Couldn't save you either. too many, too strong. " He looked miserable, his tail twitched.

Thaila snorted, "I could try...your feet would be dragging though." He happily rested there.

Heny rested on her side, her eyes blankly staring at the wall she didnt acknowledge Kay entering. Mentally her brain decided to just shut down, not wanting to deal with anything any more. Within the two weeks her body was starting to show some of the later signs of pregnacy.

Kay really couldn't blame her for not wanting to be dealing with this shit, he nodded to Shane and pulled up a chair, extending a hand to touch Heny's shoulder gently, wondering if he could rouse her. He didn't really need to, but it felt rude to check her over while she wasn't totally conscious.

Matt didn't say anything, he was concentrating on not collapsing as he got to the door and pushed it open.

---That does sound like guilt--- Vestia said. ---It's normal to feel guilty after something like this. Over time, this sort of pain heals on its own, or at least you get used to it---
She added, ---I'm all right, and proud of everything you did. You didn't win, but you were heroic---

Thaila gently slipped down once they where there, and took Matt hand firmly and lead him to the bed, "If I'm going to sleep so are you."

She mumbled something and jerked her shoulder away. Sje was awake but not heavily reaponsive if spoken to but would react partly if touched.

Mourn rested his head on the table. "Don't like guilt. Make it go away." He complained.

Matt groaned. "Okay okay... " He let Thalia drag him to bed and collapsed into it, snuggling into Thalia and refusing to let him go. He felt like if he let him go, maybe he'd disappear or something, and he couldn't deal with that.

Kay sighed. "Heny. I need to check you over. Make sure both you and the baby are alright. May I? If you want, I can give you something to help you sleep." His voice was surprisingly gentle, he'd resigned himself to this stupid necklace for the time being, until he could get the thing off and this bracelet as well, he'd just have to hear his own voice and be angsty about it. The reasonable part of him insisted this was a useful item, it was going to make communication a whole lot easier, but then that other part of him, that part who'd fallen silent 14 years ago kept fighting it and kept making Kay feel a stab of panic every single time.

Thaila pulled the sheets over, making a nest for the two as he burrowed himself into Matt's hold. He closed his eyes trying to remind himself he could actually sleep for once without a painful awaking

Heny said nothing as she reluntly rolled over, in her hand she held tightly one of the kitten's toys. Vividly she remembered what that demonic keeper did and felt sick all over again. It was a good thing Kay couldnt be telepathic at the moment because he probably would be drowing in her emotions. Her eyes held this glazed looked as she turn her focus simply to the ceiling, not saying a word.
