Upon Vestia: Chapter Six

Matt nodded and helped Thalia out into the hall, giving Merith a wide berth. No way was he trusting that guy.

Asher barely resisted the urge to run over to Kay and hug him desperately, and instead contented himself with a slightly more reserved, "What happened? Are you all right?"

He gave her the list to look over, "Cyborg limbs are judge case by case." He explained.

Kay nodded, he was still shaking and it took him a while to remember he had a pen and paper. [They want me to wear some sort of id badge, and they have cells. If there's a full moon i'm to report to them to be restrained but otherwise it seems i'm okay.] He collapsed into his chair.

Kay realised he actually had been holding his breath and finally let it out with a gasp, his heart was pounding in his chest and for a moment, he wondered if this was all sort of cruel awful joke and that no, he really was just going to get shot.

It took a few minutes for him to compose himself enough to return to the medical room.

once done they moved on and started to regroup.

Mourn couldn't follow the conversations around him very easily, but he did notice Starr looking at him.

"what?" He asked.

Matt watched them go, he desperately needed to know his brother was alright but he had to figure out how to get away without raising suspicion. He glanced to Vestia's cameras. "Be right back.." He mumbled and headed into the much quieter hall.

Starr dipped her head then smiled at him before turning to go and talk to the others.

Identification? Asher could understand why such a measure would be taken, but that didn't stop him from being instantly repulsed by the idea. He controlled his rage and instead said softly, "I guess we'd better have a look at the calendar then."

Kay nodded, but he didn't quite seem to be able to process all this.

Matt tried to act casual, yep, just... walking.. nothing suspicious here. He headed toward the nearest quiet place and asked in hushed tones "Okay Vestia, seriously, please don't mess with me this time. Is my brother alright?"

Asher patted Kay's shoulder, then pulled out his tablet and started researching the planet's moon cycles. "It's going to be all right. Matt and I are here for you," he said, voice steady and soothing.

"Kay's all right. You might want to go talk to him though, he's a bit shaken," Vestia said to Matt.

Matt nodded. "thank you Vestia." He headed toward the medlab quickly, but feeling a LOT less panicky.

"No problem," the ship said kindly, "It's all right, we're all happy to protect him, whatever the problem might be."

Kay looked up as Matt came into the room, they'd sort of been avoiding one another the past few days. Though they weren't fighting any more, it was still awkward.
But Matt didn't care right now, he rushed forward and hugged Kay.

"Are you okay? what's the situation? did they pick anything up?" He babbled.

Kay picked up the piece of paper he'd been writing on and gave it to Matt to read.

"Wait.. really?"

Kay nodded.

"that's... surprising."

Kay nodded again.

Matt looked to Asher "When's the next full moon?"

"The full moon is six days from now," Asher said calmly.

Both brothers nodded.

"okay 6 days, that's... that's fine right? We can do whatever we have to do here, and leave before... "

Kay looked worried.

"I'm sure it'll be fine." Matt tried to look reassuring. "I mean, if they wanted to hurt you.. they would have already... surely? As long as you follow the rules and.. and report to them.. it'll be fine."

Kay looked gratefully at his brother.

"and hey, if anyone asks, we'll make something up like we always do right?"

Kay took the paper back. [Maybe I should just tell them. ]

"Seriously? You... you want to tell them?"

Kay shrugged. [they'll find out eventually. Well, in 6 days time.]

"Think very carefully about whether you genuinely want the whole crew to know Kay. I mean, whatever you decide, i've got your back... but... be careful okay?"

Kay nodded.

Asher decided he didn't know enough to offer input on this conversation, and instead listened quietly. He looked up at one of Vestia's cameras, wondering if she'd heard Kay and the Avian, and knew about Kay's condition now.

"listen, i'm gonna head back and see what the plan is for this stay, we'll work something out. You're gonna be fine." Matt reassured Kay.

Kay shot him a "stop it" look and Matt looked sheepish.

"Sorry, it's ... been a while since we've had to worry about this kinda thing. "

[It's not your responsibility Matt. Go, have fun. I can look after myself. ]

Matt looked unsure.

Kay glared.

"Okay okay... but you can't stop me worrying okay? You're my brother, I love you and i'm never going to stop caring so deal!"

Kay smiled softly.

Matt chuckled and turned to leave, looking to Asher "You look after him okay? even when he says he doesn't need looking after, ignore him. He's full of shit."

Kay scowled at Matt in sort of mock annoyance.

Asher smiled. "I'll do my best. Don't worry, Matt, we'll make sure the situation stays under control. And if you're needed, we'll be sure to call you."

Ellie looked at Shane, then down at 1812. "Well, this stop will be interesting. What's the plan?"

Shane looked at Ellie then shrugged. "Don't go to jail?"

Matt nodded. "I know. I'll see you guys later. " He smiled, waved, and headed back to the others.

Mourn wasn't hugely happy about the weapon rules when they were explained to him, and begrudgingly surrendered his sword and gun, to be left on the ship. He sat and studied his cybernetic arm, which apparently would have to be "judged", which annoyed him. Stupid birds and their stupid rules.

Mourn would have his arm examed by a older male before he pulled some type of foam like paper and carefully wrapped it around the sharp nails. It would morph and form itself to his nails shape sealing itself to the metal. "Before you leave contact us to remove it." He aaid.

Mourn did NOT look impressed, in fact, it took a lot of self control to allow the bird man to even touch him like this, let alone wrap things around him. His fur stood on end and his ears flattened, but he managed to retrain the urge to hiss and scratch the guy.

He fidgeted anxiously as the paper was wrapped around his hand, then examined them critically, wriggling his fingers and frowning.

He muttered something, tail swishing, but nodded and stomped off to go find the hawk girls. At least he could leave the ship, that was... a small consolation.

Skye and Moone were waiting nearby, eager to go and explore the planet.

Starr waited at the ramp, looking out at the world they had come to now. She didn't have any weapons on her, hoping this trip would be peaceful.

Shane looked to Ellie, waiting on her. He hoped this trip would not end in disaster like the last one.

Mourn trudged to Skye and moone and held up his hand, making a face. Honestly he felt naked without his weaponry, he was so used to the comfort of having them at his belt, just ready to draw.

Matt joined everyone else gathering to go explore.

Skye frowned at his hand then reached over to touch it "It's only for a little while" She said gently

Mourn nodded. "Hopefully. " He sulked. "Don't like. Feel helpless."
