Upon Vestia: Chapter Two

Asher looked at Heny for a long moment, trying to decide whether it would be a good idea to move her. The seat didn't look terribly comfortable, but then again, she'd probably wake up on a murderous rampage (again) if she woke up in a new place. He didn't want to cause her any more stress, not when she was in this condition.
Noticing the edge to Vestia's voice, he asked, "What's wrong? Did Ellie do something again?"

Ellie finished eating, set her plate in the cleaning unit, and gave the new guy a hopeful look. "Maybe if you have time, you can show us around some place that you know? That'd be so much fun. You're actually from Earth!"

Asher had decided to go have a look around the city while they were here. It was one of the safest ones for androids, thanks to the massive corporate presence there, and also a good place to buy synthetic skin, which he needed to replace soon because his hands were starting to lose their fingerprints from wear. And it was just an interesting city to see.

Shane nodded then shrugged "I should have time, my boss doesn't expect me back for a couple of weeks."

The human punched the air, pleased. "Wait, what's your job?" she asked.

"Basically I am a bodyguard, but I had to stay here on Mars to take care of some political stuff." He said answering vaugly

"Oh cool," she said. Political stuff? she thought suspiciously.

Shane smiled and looked around then went over to get something to eat. He didn't notice the look Starr had given him at his job description

Vestia informed Star that the twins wanted to talk to her.

Starr looked up then sighed and stood "Where are they at?" She asked as she headed for the door, leaving Shane with Ellie

"The docks." She explained.

Starr nodded and headed for the docks to see the twins.

Merith smiled softly, thinking on the idea. He liked the thought, but wondered if she'd want to be in such close quarters with him. Still, it was obvious to the man Heny cared for the child as much as he did, maybe even more. It'd be a cruel thing to close her off as much as possible from the child. "Sure, Hen." Sweetheart, "We'll all be conjoined."

Merith blushed slightly, "Hey! You're the one that thought it!" Despite his light-hearted bicker, he took the child in his hands. Immediately he had the wary and weighty sense that he was carrying something fragile, despite her age, and his smile stapled into a straight line in concentration as he held her.

she snickered, "Well well I never thought I would get you to blush."

Syren softly stirred at his touch but was out cold in his arms, almost rag doll like as she slept.

Merith snorted softly, hoping his low, strong tones of voice wouldn't wake the sleeping gem. "Maybe you're still secretly into me, then, since you seem so adamant on doing so." He teased softly, going towards the rooms they were supposed to set up.

"If you weren't carrying the kid I would deck you." She shot back stubbornly, following carrying the blankets and what not. "I recommend getting toys on earth, cheaper and better quality normally."

Merith chuckled lightly at her threat, but kept his voice quiet for the sake of Syren. Little Syren. Little Siren. Little Gem. "If that's the case, that would be a good idea. Maybe allow her to run around to find things to decorate her room... If that's okay. Vestia?" He looked at a passing camera questioningly, wondering if she was alright in the idea of added decor.

"Of course, but I don't have much stuff she could really do that with." Vestia said softly with a chuckle as Heny got the door open, going in first as she put the items on the desk she pulled out the blankets.

"Then Earth will be the perfect trip to purchase such items." Merith said happily. The Keeper was in absolute bliss over his Little Gem, the connection to his daughter putting him in ecstasy. He set her softly on the bed, making sure not to wake her and that she was comfortable.

It didn't take long for her to burrow beneath the covers as Heny out a couple more blankets on top. "gnight." She said to both before leaving ( and timeskip!)

(Five days later)


Heny causally sat in one of the obvervastion decks as Vestia was a hour out from earth. She had decided (even though it killed her) to give Merith time with his daughter to bond, knowing that they needed time to know each other more. While the day hefore the twins had offically joined them both been staying by themselves for the most part but she did see the dirty looks Sulon gave her. Shaking her head she calmly closed her eyes briefly for now.

Starr walked into the observation deck, pausing when she saw Heny there. She wasn't sure if the keeper wanted to be alone or not. "Hey" She said softly

Heny looked up surprise, "Hey." She said. "Sorry, most folks don't come to this one." She said sheepishly.

"It's my favorite area, I like the quiet" Starr said then motioned to the door "I can go to another one if you want"
