Satare Empire - Melanoc Lunar Colony

First topic message reminder :

One of the central lunar colonies orbiting the vast, water world Satare.

A farming colony, what isn't walled farmland is dense forest and woodland.
There are 12 moons in the sky, though not all are visible at any one time and the enormous blue ball that is the planet.

Don't go out after dark, there are monsters in the woods.

Bianca was busily turning her dishtowel into a nice bed. Hopefully nobody was attached to that dishtowel, because it was getting chewed up. Oh dear.

"You all okay?" Web asked, looking around. He went to check Thalia was okay. She was still sleeping soundly.

"Play?" Kerr asked, tilting his head to look to Web then back out to the yard. Hey, he hadn't seen anything like this before, he wanted to explore.

"We good" Vela said, looking over to them "Bianca find bed-place here."

Danika looked to Web when he came over then back to Thalia "She sleep still."

Moone smiled and headed for the kitchen to see what they had as far as pots and utensils and what food they had brought, starting to sort all of that.

"play? You want to go explore?" Web asked. "Well, sure. " there was a well and a river and potentially other hazards though, he wasn't letting these kids go out there unsupervised.
"Uh, wanna come see the grounds?" He called to Moone. "take a break from unpacking?"

Kerr nodded then looked over to Moone too.

Moone frowned a little, looking at them then shrugging "It can't be for long if we do go out today, not with Thalia still out and we have to start supper in a bit, but we could go out for a few minutes."

"I don't know, from what Matt tells me, maybe it is better to be far away when she wakes." Web tried to joke.
He smiled softly. "Come on, i'll show you around."

Moone nodded and went over to pick up Vela then looked down to Bianca "You want to see around this place or stay in there?" She asked kindly

Kerr bounced down, landing on the floor and scurrying to the door again. Yay, exploring!

Danika looked up at Web then back to Thalia before moving to get him to pick her up.

Web picked Danika up and looked to Kerr to pick him up too. "Just be careful okay? Things are a bit overgrown so watch your feet."

Moone chuckled, coming over to get the door since Web now had his hands full.

Danica held to Web a bit tightly though she did look out at the yard when they stepped out.

Kerr on the other hand was eager and willing to jump off the first chance he got.

Vela was calmly holding onto Moone's hand so she could see and look around

Web nodded appreciatively to Moone and led the way into the grounds.

It was a big property, a couple of acres at least.
But it was really overgrown.

the goats were milling about munching happily on weeds.

"well at least they've made themselves at home." Web looked around. "So what do you want to see first? Orchard? River? Uh.. Generator? Stable?" Hmm. Yeah he had no idea.

"What is orchard?" Kerr asked, distracted from wanting to jump on a goat for the moment.

Moone shrugged, she didn't much mind where they went first.

"uh.. it's like a garden but with lots of fruit trees." Web tried to explain. "Come on, i'll show you." He led them to the orchard, which while overgrown the fruit trees mostly seemed to still be alive and okay. They just needed pruning.
There were apples, plums and pears as well as a couple of small spindly lemon trees.

Kerr looked up at the trees and tilted his head then looked to Web again "We can climb?"

Moone followed Web, looking around at all they needed to get done in here. Well, there was plenty to keep her occupied and not worrying about her sister.

"uh.. sure? just... don't fall?" He moved closer to a relatively small tree so Kerr could climb onto it.

Kerr gave him a dragon grin then climbed onto the branch once he was close enough. He frowned at the branch, sniffing at it a moment before starting to wander aroung on the tree. It was a bit odd to walk on something small and not flat, but he liked it.

Danika watched Kerr, but made no move to join him. She was comfortable being held, even if Web wasn't Kay or Asher.

Moone came over to let Vela join Kerr at the girl's insistence then watched the two gain confidence in climbing the tree and starting to play.

Web looked down at Danika, noticing how much more sedate she was than the others. He petted her gently. Poor kid.

"you're good at this." He told the other two.

Kerr looked to Web then showed his paw "We have claws, good for climbing" He said with a nod then went back to playing.

Danica chirped softly, nuzzling into the petting but still watching her clutch-mates play in the tree. After a minute, she would ask to go up too. She saw them having fun and wanted to play with them even with her fears.

Web smiled and nodded, holding her out to a sturdy branch too.
"We used to spend so much time here..." He mused. "it was the best place for playing. Here or the river."

Danica looked to Web as he spoke then to her siblings, getting used to the feel of the branches before moving.

Kerr managed to slip then catch himself, just holding still while he processed his new position, hanging under the branch he had been standing on. Hm, interesting. He tilted his head this way and that, looking at everything upside down then laughing and trying to climb back up. He had to flutter his wings a bit but he made it back on top of the branch just fine.

Web held his hand out, worried Kerr would fall. He relaxed when the tiny dragon recovered his grip.
Phew.

Damn, looking after kids was way more stressful than governing an entire planet he decided. So much responsibility.

Moone giggled softly and shook her head, coming over to stand beside Web "Kerr is the most adventurous, Danika the least and Vela is in the middle." She said softly "He's always falling and trying new things, but they are very resilient creatures and their scales protect them from a lot of harm."

Web nodded slowly. "I'm afraid i'm completely out of my element here. " he watched the baby dragons worriedly. "Now I understand why Olin yelled at us so much for doing things like this."

Moone giggled at that and looked to Web "Yes, it is scary sometimes, though in your case it could also have been your weight. Breaking limbs and such, the dragons now don't weigh more than a cat would." She couldn't quite see the king as a kid climbing trees though.

Soon enough Danika was playing with the other two, though she was slower and more careful.

Kerr and Vela were playing on and swinging under the branches, learning to climb back up on top when they were under them. They found it fun to hang and swing back and forth.

Web nodded. "yeah, we used to get up on top of the barn." He gestured toward a large 2 story barn. "Well not Kay, he's always been weird about heights. " He shook his head. "Esk used to fix the roof of the house after storms. He was the only one small enough to get up there easily and light enough not to fall through. It was scary though, i'm honestly surprised he never fell. " He kept watching the dragons. "how old are you?" He asked suddenly, he didn't actually know how old Moone was. Huh.

"I think that's rubbed off on Danica" Moone said about Kay's fear of heights then looked to Web again "I'm eleven now."

"She seems to be doing pretty good." Web watched Danika climb, okay she was way more tentative than the others, but still, she was in a tree. That was something. "Eleven? And they had you looking after babies?" He'd noticed the avians. "What happened with them?"

Moone nodded then looked to the dragons again "We found an Avian to take them in, they left with Heny and her kids. Yes, me and Skye mostly watched over the three infants together. Skye is 19, almost an adult."
