First topic message reminder :

Heny stood there and listened as the two spoke, her heart beat rising. She had visited him a couple of times but found it too painful with eveything going on.

"That's an option too," Asher agreed mildly. He didn't especially like the idea of buying creatures to heal Esk when Esk was healing on his own, but he supposed it was an option. Hmm. He stepped away and went to get out the painkillers and a glass of water.

Esk's expression faltered and he for a moment looked almost grateful as Asher gave him painkillers. He nodded and grumbled a begrudging sounding "thank you."

Asher smiled a bit. "Any time. Try to get some rest if you can. Have you eaten yet today?"

Kay pet Danika on the head. It's alright little one, i'm not going to abandon you. This level of attachment wasn't normal was it? the other two didn't seem to care that Starr wasnt here. He worried, he couldn't help it.

He smiled softly at Vela and Kerr as they danced, trying not to think too hard on how different Danika was to them, trying not to compare her to them. Every child was different right? right?

Danika nuzzled him again then looked to her siblings as they danced. You went away last night, we all danced together. she thought to him then looked to him again "You want to see me dance?"

Esk shook his head. "Don't worry about me, I can still walk." okay slowly and painfully but still. "Go fuss over someone else."

Kay felt a stab of guilt, he nodded and tilted his head into her nuzzles. I wasn't well little one, but i'm better now. He nodded. Only if you want to dance.

Asher looked amused. Esk was so stubborn, it was kind of impressive. You could really tell he and Kay were related sometimes. "All right, I'll leave you to it then. Presumably you know your limits better than I do." He gathered up his med kit and headed out.

Esk glared Asher out, and once he was alone again finally relaxed and let out a soft noise of pain. Damn painkillers weren't nearly fast acting enough.

Asher headed back toward the med lab at a leisurely pace, not really worrying about Esk's glare. "Kay is all right with the hatchlings, right?" he asked Vestia when he was out in the hall.

"He seems okay to me," Vestia said.

Asher smiled and kept walking slowly. He'd spent a lot of time looking after kids last night, it was kind of nice to have a break for a bit.

Danika chirped softly and hugged him. Asher dad said that, said you be better today. I glad you better dad. She said then looked to her siblings again, carefully crawling down to join the dance. It likely would have been quicker to jump down instead of climbing

Kay nodded. It was still weird to him to hear Asher called Dad, nice, but weird.

Kay rested his head on the desk and watched the dragons dance, smiling tiredly.

Asher peered into the med lab, and smiled at the sight of the three dragons dancing. He came in, waved cheerfully to the dragons and Kay, and went to put the med supplies away.

Kay raised a hand to wave to Asher and sat up, pulling his tablet over to write [How is he?]

Asher put away the supplies and came over to read Kay's tablet better. "He's in quite a bit of pain I think, but he's healing well. He's healthy enough to be grouchy too. I gave him some painkillers, and some instructions about getting some rest, that I'm not entirely convinced he'll follow."

Kay smiled softly. [Probably not no. Still, to be moving around at all after the extent of the beating he took is pretty impressive. Even with his healing ability.] He shook his head.

Matt put up posters, he put up sooo many posters. Every room got at least two posters bwhahaha. Nobody could say he wasn't doing this properly!
Okay, some of his attention to detail was totally procrastinating... ooo this floor needed mopping too, he should do that.. and clean that.. and...

Kerr and Vela came over to Asher after a minute. "Story time?" They asked excitedly.

Danika came back over to Kay to cuddle him again.

"Your brother has an impressive amount of determination," Asher said. "I do wish he was more cooperative sometimes, though, he's not the easiest patient to work with." A bit like Heny, really. Maybe not as bad though, Heny was kind of legendary at this point.
He reached down to let Vela and Kerr climb onto his shoulders if they wanted. "Okay, I think we can do that. What sort of story do you want?"

Kay petted Danika's head gently. it's alright little one. You dance well. You all dance well. He nodded to Asher. [bloody mindedness seems to run in the family.] He shook his head. [I guess though, he's just used to doing things for himself. It can't be easy to accept help when you've always just had to get on with it. ] He frowned.

Matt looked sheepish. "uh.. not ALL of them... " He managed a grin. "Ethan's lost some books and he's all like.. grrr angry librarian about it. The fiend, he even threatened to... " He stage gasped. "Revoke library privileges!"

"Yeah, he definitely isn't in the habit of asking for help," Asher agreed. He could understand that. "At least we're here for him." He laughed at the dragons' enthusiasm, "You mean this one?" he asked, sitting down at the desk with his cargo of dragons so he could pick up the mystery Ethan had brought.

Asher was momentarily tempted to lie just because he didn't want to mention Ethan to Kay this early in the morning. He resisted the urge though, because when had lying for convenience ever turned out well for him? "Ethan stopped by earlier this morning," he explained, "He dropped the books off because he thought the hatchlings might be old enough to enjoy them." Which wasn't the whole, entire truth, but maybe it was enough for the moment.
