Upon Vestia: Chapter TWENTY

Heny stood there and listened as the two spoke, her heart beat rising. She had visited him a couple of times but found it too painful with eveything going on.

*cackles* after a bit Acus would returned, emotionally drained from the whole ordeal he walked slowly back to his ship.

Eventually the impromptu party on Vestia would wrap up and James would head back to the Silver Devil. He was still wearing his suit and that lovely emerald green tie, since he was going to see about returning them to Armin tomorrow. He probably looked pretty stunningly handsome. Androids really were perfectly designed to wear nice clothes well.

(Tala, Acus, and Swarm return from capitol)

Tala lead the way back up the ramp to Vestia, looking pleased with herself for bringing Swarm home safely.

Acus would let Tala and swarm do their thing as he went towards his ship to his room. He looked emotionally drained from the party like it took effort for him to be there.

Luka had eventually gone back to her room and gotten undressed for bed, hanging her lovely dress up and admiring it a little more with a sigh. Yeah, how many times was she gonna get an excuse to wear it?
bah.

Swarm kept close to Tala until they got back to Vestia.

Esk had fallen asleep at his post by this point, the alchohol, the painkillers and just the stress of the day had taken too much of a toll on his body.

Kay couldn't get comfortable, so he curled up in a corner and watched videos on his tablet, rubbing his tired eyes every so often.

James headed back to the Silver Devil after the impromptu party on Vestia. He was still wearing his suit and tie, since he was planning to see about returning them to Armin tomorrow, so he probably looked very nice still.
Acus might spot him when he reached the Silver Devil.

"You are all right, Swarm?" Tala asked kindly, still way too loud.

Swarm bobbed up and down. "thank you." "we are much better now."

Tala nodded. "Excellent. I wonder how our infected friend does! They said he might not change tonight!"

Acus did and looked surprise at how nice Asher looked, he felt this odd flutter in his heart as his steps quicken slightly. "H-hey James." He called out in a oddly friendly manner, though tired.

James looked around and saw Acus, and suddenly remembered his realization from earlier. Uh oh, he had no idea how to deal with this yet. "Hey Acus, have fun at the festival?" he asked carefully.

"Ask Vestia?" Swarm suggested. It was easier for Tala to talk to the cameras than it was for them.

"Vestia, has Kay changed forms tonight?" Tala called to the ship's nearest audio receiver.

"Nope, he's sitting in his cell playing on his tablet," Vestia said.

Tala nodded. "Good, we shall not concern ourselves that he may have begun his rampage then."

"it was okay, too much noise for my taste." He said with a shrug. "How was the ship party?"

James smiled. "Pretty good. A lotta kids got to come along, they were adorable but you would have hated them." He searched Acus' expression, trying to see whether his suspicions about Acus' feelings for him were true.

Acus was trying to stay neutral on his face if James looked hard enough he would see the signs. "Yeah, I dunno when chicksxare worse, this age or as teens."

"That is a relief." Swarm admitted. "What will you do now friend Tala?" they asked. "sleep?" "rest?" "food?"

"Remind me to never raise avian kids," James said jokingly. Then he looked nervous, wondering if that had sounded like he meant something more than he had intended. "Um, not that I was planning to raise avians in the first place?" he amended weakly.

"I shall eat and I shall rest. Perhaps I shall visit Kay!" Tala said.

"Are you certain that is wise?" Swarm asked. "We shall remain with you. Keep you company." Yes, they might not be much help if something went wrong but they felt better staying with Tala. Some of them were kinda curious about what everyone else was doing though.

"Yes, if Kay is rampaging, you shall hide in the ventilation and I shall end his life," Tala said. "It shall not be necessary to do this since he has not changed, but we have a plan nonetheless." She lead the way toward the holding cells.

Acus held this confuse look, "Where did that come from..?"

"You know, the ones at the party, we were saying they were chaotic," James said lamely, "I don't want to parent avian kids."
He shook his head at his own clumsiness, "Maybe you should forget everything I just said, for simplicity. I'm having a weird evening."

He nodded, then cocked his head. "What happened?"

James chewed his lip as he thought. He wasn't sure whether he should say anything when he still was so unsure himself, but he had to ask. "Well, I suddenly thought of something I hadn't considered before. Do you..." he looked at Acus uncertainly, and trailed off, not finishing his question.

"Do you...what?" Acus said, his heart rate went up slightly in nerves as he suspected what James was about to ask.

"Do you have feelings for me?" James asked.

Acus face paused, then silence as he couldn't muster the words but knew his reaction would be a tell all to James. He looked suddenly at his toes finding how much more cooler they looked at the moment.

"Shit..."James said. Realizing that wasn't a good response, he tried again, "Sorry, I didn't mean that like it sounded. It's just, nobody's ever felt that way and I'm kinda not sure what to say here. I'm a robot, you know? People don't feel that way about robots, they just, like, don't. Usually. I mean, sometimes they do, but like, nobody ever felt that way about me--" Maybe it was time to stop talking now. He shut up and looked at Acus.

Swarm followed Tala, curious about all this.

Esk was sleeping in a pretty awkward position, head slumped on his chest and snoring gently.

Kay was ignoring him, wasn't like he could do much to wake him up. Not unless he threw something at him but all he had on him was his tablet, he'd emptied his pockets of anything else earlier just in case. He was not wasting his tablet on Esk.
Besides which, he didn't much want to get shot.

He looked up when Tala and Swarm came in, looking quizzical.
