Hytar's Ship

Vicky was busy setting up her quarters, after some negotiations and the like she had join Hytar group for a while. Busily she set up her gaming system, though knew since the new upgrade she wouldn't be playing all night. While many races found sleep annoying she found it delightful being able to do it now.

Hytar nodded. "Pull yoursssself together." He told her, turning and preparing to leave. "I have busssinessss to attend. Mr Brightssstar, I expect to ssssee you privately in an hour. "

Lope looked nervous, he nodded. "Yes sir."

Hytar left.

Vicky sat there for a few minutes before numbly standing she went to collect her things for packing.

Lope stayed with her and frowned. "Vicky what are you doing?!" He rose and tried to stop her. "stop this!"

Ariston nodded and moved aside so they could enter. "The boss is busy for the moment, come in, take a seat, he shouldn't be long."

"Lope, you heard what he said. I told him I needed a few days and didn't accept that." Vicky remarked coldly. "I cannot and will not risk anyone lives on attempting to force myself to 'collect' any time sooner."

"But you can't just leave! Where will you go? Will you be okay?" He didn't really trust she wouldn't try to hurt herself again, it scared him. "I... can't come with you, my contract is very clear and... i need this job." He looked guilty. Much as he cared about her, he couldn't abandon this. His voice cracked. "Vicky... please... "

"I have a cabin on my mech land... it not much but it been a home for me in the past." She said simply, "I don't expect you to come Lope, we both have choices we must make." Vicky was purposely pushing him away at this point.

Lope lowered his head, hands dropping to his sides.

Vicky said nothing else, she ignored the bags of items she recently bought. Frankly she wanted to burn them, she wished she never went out shopping period. Her movements were listless, like she was a robot doing something it was programmed to do.

Lope didn't know what to say, or what to do. He was hurt. "S.. should I leave you to it then?" He asked.

"It your choice." Vicky didn't sound like herself as she said that, like she had cut herself off from the emotional attachment.

Lope nodded slowly. He hesitated. It didn't feel right to just walk away but she didn't seem to want him here. He just stood there, looking and feeling utterly useless. "i'm sorry..." He mumbled. Not really sure why he was apologizing.

"Mm, nothing you did." She said simply, carefully packing her clothing up.

Lope took a deep breath. "then why are you doing this?" He demanded at last. "You're still not over him are you? For him to affect you this badly... Why does he matter so much that you're willing to throw everything away on one argument?!" He started to get angry, but then seemed to lose heart, ducking his head and pulling his arms around himself. "I.. I thought this meant something... Was I wrong?"

Vicky paused, closing her eyes as she held her shirt she was folding tightly. It wasn't Esk, she was over him but he played every fear she had buried against her stirring old demons. "I am over him... but the words he said..." her voice teetered off, "Every relationship I have had has always burned and crashes... I'll rather have the only good one I had shatter so I can have one good memory of a relationship that was cursed from the start. I do have feelings for you Lope, and it becomes of that I don't want there to be any more pain then there already is on when things do crash and burn." Her whole life have been a string of failed relationships, many of thwm could be classified as abusive but it was all the cyborg knew as 'normal'. This was normal for her to let her fear control her on this subject. She would rather face off a keeper then think she would actually have a healthy good relationship that didn't have strings attached.

Lope frowned. "So... you're just going to run away? " He didn't understand, why was she doing this? It wasn't fair and he felt like he was rather doomed to be that rebound guy, doomed from the start no matter what she claimed otherwise.

"If you want to put it that way... I guess." She helplessly shrugged, "You deserved someone better, not someone that everyone throw away."

Lope kept his eyes on the ground, he couldn't quite look at her. "That's.. not fair." He told her, his voice trembling.

"How? How is it not fair?" She asked.

"Because I don't want someone else!" Lope snapped. "I... want you." He looked at her defiantly at last, his jaw set, eyes narrowed. "Don't give me shit about protecting me, you're trying to protect yourself." His arms dropped back to his sides, hands clenching into fists. "I've given you everything I had, I... I thought we were happy but..." He trailed off, fighting back tears.

Vicky looked away, tears silently shedding. She didn't want him to see her crying, "Lope..." she couldn't finish her arms slumping as she stood there in silence.

Lope stared at her, then shook his head. "I'm getting a shower." He told her at last, he couldn't deal with this right now. He'd spent the whole damn day trying to coax her out of her catatonic state and worrying about her, he was exhausted and done.
He felt guilty about that, but what else could he do?

He went to the bathroom to get cleaned up.

She swallowed the building lump but it wouldn't go away. Forcefully she returned to packing, but first she looked at the bags on the table with a forceful grab she threw them angrily across the room. Today was supposed to be special, she had planned to celebrate their anniversary. That now was out of the window, shakily breathing she went back to packing, softly crying in the process.

Tala led James and the others in, although she didn't sit down. "We will wait patiently. There is little rush."

James sat down comfortably to wait. "Ivor and Silence are just about ready to go, I hope?"

The assembled crew regarded James, Tala, Swarm and Shane skeptically.
The tabby felid practically glared at them while the others just looked uncertain.

Ariston shrugged. "I shall go and check on them." He did just that.

Hytar returned soon enough, looking a little annoyed. He regarded the assembled crew and nodded before indicating everyone who hadn't already take a seat if they could.

"Welcome back." He told the Silver Devil crew.

"Your pilot is missing." Swarm observed.

Hytar shook his head. "Yessss, he'sss been unexpectedly... delayed." He sounded irritated.

"That is most unfortunate." "a pity" Swarm continued

"It issssn't important." Hytar continued smoothly. He looked to Tala, James and Shane. "You have made your desssicion then?"

Lope took a long hot shower, but he couldn't really enjoy it. He couldn't hear vicky sobbing over the running water though.

She would be taking a break when he would finish a pile of knives from all she had stashed. It wasn't her whole collection either but she did toy with ideas she didn't act out on them. He would see the fresh tear marks on her face but she would said nothing to him.

"Yes," Tala said, speaking for the group because she was Rigel's second in command. "I and Shane," she nodded to Shane, "Will be joining your crew for the duration of this mission." She looked to Swarm, "You wanted part of yourself to come along, did you not?"

"And I'm here to escort Ivor and Silence to the Silver Devil," James said. That walk home was going to be a lot of fun. Hopefully nobody would try to mug them, ugh.

Swarm bobbed up and down. "We would like to accompany you, we shall be able to keep in contact with our other selves and have already scouted out the target." "We know where the slaves are kept" "and where the guards are stationed."

Hytar considered this, smirking slightly. He nodded. "What are your sssskillsss?" he asked Tala and Shane.

Lope frowned at the knives, moving to get dressed. "Don't do this." He pleaded weakly as he pulled a clean shirt on.
