Hytar's Ship

Vicky was busy setting up her quarters, after some negotiations and the like she had join Hytar group for a while. Busily she set up her gaming system, though knew since the new upgrade she wouldn't be playing all night. While many races found sleep annoying she found it delightful being able to do it now.

The lying guards stopped lying one they realized it didn't help. They just gave up and begged to die quickly. They really did know nothing.

Tala was going to be happy with what information Hytar did get. She'd inform Hytar that had he smelled different, she would have been pleased to mate with such an efficient person. Sadly he smelled too male. Oh well.

Hytar would, true to his word, calmly execute those who had nothing to give. After all, they'd been fairly cooperative. Those who'd lied, he left till last, just so they could suffer a little longer from their injuries.
But eventually they'd all get killed too and disposed of.

Tala amused him, he'd tell her it was more the pity, but alas, he lacked his mother's ability to change sex at will. He'd have to be content with her admiration.
He did smirk while he said that though, so he might not have been entirely serious.

Talks wiggled her ears, and informed him that this was a tragedy for the ages. Then she went off to check on the star dragons.

The not-star dragon slaves on Hytar's ship were probably starting to wake up by now. They were pretty freaked out when they saw where they were.

The dragons looked to the door when Tala opened it to check on them. They had commandeered a lot of pillows and blankets to make the communal nest for the eggs. Some stayed asleep, but most woke at the sound.

"Greetings," Tala said, "how fare you all?" Hopefully she wasn't freaking them out too much, she did look kinda scary.

The non star dragon slaves would be given a standard debriefing. Not by Hytar, he had better things to do than deal with terrified slaves.
The more charismatic members of his crew took that job. Explaining that they were free now and if they had any homes they wished to return to, appropriate transportation could be arranged.

The slaves didn't believe this at first, but eventually they tentatively started to decide to trust these guys. Those who had families told the crew, while the ones who didn't have families looked confused, and wondered where they would go now.

"We are well" One female said, standing and coming forward. "The queen says you are like emissaries for her."

The crew member took down the names of family members to contact and assured the others that they'd be found somewhere safe and free of slavers to begin their new lives. Hytar didn't much care what they did once they left his ship, just that they were free.

"Excellent," Tala said. "We are pleased that Starr has spoken with you. It makes this much easier." She looked at the group, "Are any of you wounded? We should know so we can treat you."

Everyone felt better with those reassurances. They were calmer now, and the attitude was tentatively optimistic.

The female looked around then shook her head "None of us here, those who are hurt went to the medical room to treat one another as well as they could."

"Good. Do any of you have any allergies or unusual nutritional needs?" Tala asked. "We need to know for when we go shopping."

The female looked around again then shook her head "Only the sugar thing." She replied softly.

Tala nodded, pleased. "We shall not worry then, all will be well. How are the eggs?"

"These are well, they are still growing, some will hatch within days, some not for a month or more." The female said then tilted her head "I am Fay"

"It is well to meet you, Fay. It shall be a joyous occasion to see these young hatch in the glory of freedom," Tala proclaimed. She tilted her head, "Are any of them yours?"

Fay dipped her head then shrugged "Yes, one of them is mine." She said then glanced around again "Very few have not been claimed by the birth parents, but those that weren't have been claimed by another that wishes to raise them."

Tala nodded. "This cannot have been easy for any of you. It is good to see you helping each other with these eggs."

Hytar finally went to go talk to the magic specialist.

Fay dipped her head and smiled "We are free, these children will be born in freedom. Easy or not, it is good."

The specialist was sitting by herself in her assigned room, looking grim. She'd counted the gunshots as best she could, she'd lost count during the fight though. "They're all dead, I take it?" She asked Hytar.

"I am glad for your wisdom," Tala said. "Tell me," she asked thoughtfully, "do you know the sire of the queen's egg?" Starr had mentioned not wanting to meet the guy at one point, as she recalled.

Hytar nodded. "You exssspected anything elsssse?" He took a seat opposite her.

"Not really," the specialist said. "If you weren't interested in hiring guards, there was no way they were going to last long." She watched him, trying to hide any sign of how scared she was, but it was pretty clear she was terrified, "So what are you going to do with me, then? Since I actually have useful skills."

"Oh I have a ussse for you." Hytar smiled unpleasantly. "Your sssskilllsss I intend to put to good ussse." He stood up. "come with me."

The specialist followed. She looked pretty suspicious about this.

Hytar led the way to his 'office' and dug a couple of items out. "You're a ssspecialisssst yess? Tell me." He put a set of shackles in front of her. "Isss there a way to open thesssse" they had no lock, no seam, they seemed to be forged as one solid piece which was weird. He knew they could open, but he was seeking an alternative solution.

The specialist picked up the shackles and turned them over, inspecting them carefully. "Are you going to let me use my tools? A specialist works best when she can use her tools."
